It’s a busy day here in the CatBox. This morning, I have a videoconference on Zoom with prison volunteer coworkers and former prisoners with whom I worked, and who are now living productive lives as members of the community. I’m so proud of my guys! You can tell I must love them, because I’m missing part of opening weekend, a high holy day in the Church of the Ellipsoid Orb. It feels very strange, because this is the first season I haven’t played fantasy football in this century. At any rate, this is my only article today. I hope to have more tomorrow, depending on how much time I spend with Diana, my home palliative care nurse. Have a fine day.

It’s a crazy day here in the CatBox. WWWendy did not co to Crater Lake, because between the wildfires and Trump* virus, virtually everything there is closed. She arrived late, because the visibility is terrible. She cut my hair and is now gooping, while I write. This is my only article today. Have a great weekend.

From NY Times: Well before his move to the Department of Homeland Security, Brian Murphy had become known as an ambitious counterterrorism investigator at the F.B.I., determined and relentless. At times, though, colleagues chafed at what some saw as an overzealous disregard for bureaucratic rules.

All of those traits may have been at play this week when Mr. Murphy, a career law enforcement officer, became a whistle-blower.

The Department of Homeland Security was built after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, 19 years ago Friday, to keep federal, state and local governments coordinated on national security threats. But in his whistle-blower complaint, Mr. Murphy, the department’s former intelligence chief, said its senior leaders directed him to do the opposite: play down the primary national security threats of white supremacy and Russian election interference, thus distorting intelligence to mirror President Trump’s messaging.

The allegations, coming less than two months before Election Day, add to the growing evidence that Mr. Trump has prioritized his own political goals over the word of his intelligence officials, and that the Homeland Security Department has become an instrument of his personal will. Mr. Murphy’s complaint reflects the current turmoil at homeland security and is another front in Mr. Trump’s battle with the government’s intelligence agencies.

It’s a busy day, here in the CatBox. Debora just called and she’ll be here in a few minutes. She just left, and for a dead man, I’m in good shape. I’m still very tired, and my back hasn’t recovered from Wednesday. However, I’m in the saddle today, because my 9/11 article is too important not to publish. Tomorrow, WWWendy is coming very early so she go to Crater Lake in the Cascades. Therefore, please expect no more than a late Personal Update. It’s a busy, exhausted day here in the CatBox. Yesterday’s test infusion went as exspected. However, I did get some news that may be good. I had thought that my difficulty eating was a sign that my esophageal cancer is getting worse. That may be true. However, if my immune system is attacking the tumor, which is how this drug is supposed to work, it could cause the tumor to swell, just as any wound swells when one’s immune system is healing it. So my trouble eating could also be a sign that the drug is working. Time will tell. Either way, if if the tumor closes to the extent that I cannot eat, I’ll have to get a stent quickly. Tomorrow Deborah is coming for my routine doctor visit. What I do tomorrow will depend on how long that takes and how I feel. This is my only article today. Have a fine day. Last night on the way home from my cancer treatment my eyes stung, and the sky was orange-brown. I could look directly at the sun, and it was red. WWWendy was worried that she might have to evacuate. She had been notified that her house is in a Level 1 area. Thank God she didn’t have to go! I can see from my window that we still have heavy smoke, but the wind has abated, so that will help the firefighters. The extreme severity of the wildfires this year is a result of how the Republican Reich ignores climate change and opposes green energy. RESIST!!

It’s a hectic day here in the CatBox. I have the AC working, but I have to babysit it. I lost the washer in my portable O₂ unit, and Providence Medical Equipment will deliver one this moaning. I’ll be scarce for the next few days. Please expect no more than a daily Personal Update before Monday. Tomorrow I have to take the TriMet Lift Bus to to the hospital for my second infusion in 90°+ weather. Because of WWWendy’s work schedule, I had to schedule the appointment for 3:20 PM. I’ll nap during the morning. WWWendy will pick me up at 5:30. When we get home at around 6:00 PM, we still have a whole normal WWWendy day to do. I’ll be exhausted and will get to bed way late. I may be too worn out to do more Thursday. Friday Deborah, the Providence Home Health doctor is coming for a routine visit. Saturday is a morning WWWendy day. Sunday I’m meeting with several prison volunteer coworkers and former prisoners on Zoom. If I can do more, I will, but I’ll be busier than a long-tail TomCat in a rocking chair showroom. Tuesday is flush your Republicans day. Flush fast. They’re sneaky as hell. Oh God, it’s Tuesday!

She was so convincing that several groups of far-right activists later showed up at the American Embassy and demanded an audience with Mr. Trump. “We know he’s in there!” they insisted.

Mr. Trump was neither in the embassy nor in Germany that day — and yet there he was. It’s a relatively lazy holiday here in the CatBox. My esophageal tumor is making eating more painful and difficult. I’ll talk to Evelyn about that, when I go in Wednesday. My AC is acting up intermittently. When I woke up, this morning, it was pumping out heat and the inside temp was 89°. It wouldn’t power down, so I flipped the circuit breaker. Then I coaxed it into working again, for now. I’m babying it until Maintenance Dept. gets here. Of course this has to happen on a 3 day weekend. If you’re driving, please stay safe. Thank God it’s Monday.

Bernie Sanders is raising the alarm and mobilizing his army of supporters to be aware of just how dangerous a game the president is now playing.

In an interview with Politico and an email sent to his massive email list Friday, Sanders suggested that too many news organizations, social media companies, and lawmakers—in addition to the broader public—remain unaware of the manner in which Trump is laying the groundwork for a potentially devastating series of events.

“Trump is now using his lies and misinformation to sow confusion and chaos in the election process and undermine American democracy,” stated in the email, sent to millions of his supporters on Friday. “In other words, he does not intend to accept the results of the election if he loses and leave office voluntarily. I fully agree with Bernie. The people of the US need to be fully informed about Trump’s* likely intent to overthrow the government of the US and how he is setting up an attempt to do so. RESIST!!
