I’m still exhausted, but things are moving ahead.  I have my formal intake interview with Providence Home Hospice tomorrow.  They will come here to meet with Wendy and I, evaluate my needs, and set up a plan to meet them.  So I’ll know more soon, but in the meantime, I have a lot of records to collect.

Yesterday Nameless suggested that I should learn about deep breathing for stress management.  Rather than leave that in comments, I want to move that up to front street.  Not only am I familiar with deep breathing for stress management, I’ve been teaching it to my my guys as part of my prison volunteer work for over twenty years.  I am especially thankful to Nameless for bringing it up, because the stress came on me so fast that I completely forgot to use the technique myself.  Now I am using it and it is helping.  Thank you, good friend!

Now, I need a nap.  TGIF!

Dang, Don! You’re spot-on about Trump**, but isn’t that unfair to snakes?  RESIST the Republican Reich!!

From YouTube (a blast from the past): John Denver – Take Me Home, Country Roads (Audio)

Ah… the memories!  RESIST the Republican Reich!!

The Lincoln Project is finding time for Cruz

Meidas Touch – Voting Rights – and we all know why.

The Damage Report – Why is it cold if there’s global warming? for dummies

The Alt-Right Playbook – I Hate Mondays. This is the last in the series to date. However, the site has a couple of other series which may be worth starting.

SNL Cold Open

Beau – Texas and tough guys…

Meidas Touch – podcast – Miles Taylor (no CC)

MSNBC – Well, we said we needed another FDR.

Not a video but a Tweet for the ages

Orange Acres Episode 3

Founders Sing – they are ON IT.

Beau on Deb Haaland – He makes good points, but I think he’s missing the one that may be the most important – she’s Native American (and a woman). The QOP won’t tolerate that.

Rachel Maddow on (and an interview with) the new attorney at SDNY. I think I have it starting at the right place so it will only be 17 minutes, not 38.

The Republican Accountability Project made one of these for each Rep who voted to impeach and each Senator who voted to convict. I just picked Kitzinger because I figured after that letter his cousin Karen wrote everyone would recognize his name.

Really American

Meidas Touch – Parody Parler ad

Now This News – something positive

John Fugelsang as “Jack Haze.” It was only a matter of time before marijuana decriminalization/legalization got into the videos.

Beau on windmills (for a start – and more on Texas)

Just so you know, in case you missed it, the Lincoln Project is having some issues (apparently one of their members turned out to be a little too Republican – Steve Schmidt has left them over it.) So nothing new from them today – and it may be a while, if ever.

Meidas Touch – What is really frustrating to me is the number of (very vocal) people on our side who have no idea what just happened.

Now This News – It’s probably more important to remember the ones who voted to acquit … but this list is so much shorter.

The Damage Report – Nikki Haley

The Alt-Right Playbook – There’s Always a Bigger Fish

Founders Sing – Not a song, but they’re not asking for money – and they’re looking at us.

John Pavlovitz is starting a new, free video course on life skills – this is the trailer, so to speak. For more info, click on the YouTube icon in the far right of the bottom controls line.

John Fugelsang does his impression of Jerry Falwell Jr.

The real story on why the dodo is extinct (spoiler: it’s still our fault)

Meidas Touch parody (“Drivers License”)

NBC – TODAY – posted without comment

Nancy’s remarks on MCConnell. She is REALLY angry. This is the nearest I have evre heard her to incoherent (not that it’s very near, but less organized than usual.)

Parody Project – As a big fan of Gilbert and Sullivan, I really love this one. (TC, close your eyes and pretend the picture’s a dog.)

This should help to rehabilitate cats’ image from the parody.

Beau – This has kind of gotten lost in the trial news, but if it should happen, it could be good for us.

Keith from yesterday – I love Keith, but he is not being realistic about this.

There are so many awful Senators getting so much attention, it’s too easy to overlook the real heroes there ( especially if they aren’t our own)

Aaron Rupar tweet – This is from a long thread. I finally figured out how to embed just part of it, but it’s still more than I wanted. I was trying for just the second one. (They do have CC, though.) Statehood for USVI! Stacey Plaskett for Senator!

Such a nice tweet – three things – Dr. Jill’s Valentine display – two wonderful woozles – and Joe’s thoughtfulness (even as he berates himself for being slow.) No CC – but the discussion is about their getting Major at least in part to keep Champ exercising. Then a reporter (I think) says “If you come back next Friday I’ll bring the donuts,” and then President Biden goes over to her to share the warm coffee on this cold day.

The Alt-Right Playbook – The Card Says Moops

A parody headphone commercial fron The Daily Show. Nice.

A John Fugelsang allgory

Beau – This is kind of under the radar, but I think worth considering.

Sorry I’m so late. I was on hold for about 2 hours and could only do a few things – posting a thread was not one of them.

A very brief excerpt from the new video footage showed today. TC will probably have more tomorrow.

The Lincoln Project

Really American with Glenn Kirschner

Norway responds to the Will Ferrell superbowl ad (which if you missied it is here) https://youtu.be/y4U5nit_WkY

John Fugelsang “Insurrection Dysfunction”

Orange Acres – a new YouTube venture by John Di Domenico – Episode ! (yes, brace yourself, there are more)

Beau – Speaking as a veteran, I’m not sure recruiting needs to change all that much. My experience with enlisted people is that the ones who enlist for the GI Bill, to get an education, already have the curiosity and the attitude which leads to critical thinking. More so, in fact, than many young officers straight from college who never experienced impediments to going through that track (the naïvete of second lieutenants is proverbial in fact, and I assume that’s also true of ensigns.) Many enlisted people who joined for college are actually brilliant. Of course a program where they could turn it into a retention tool – get the education after a 3 or 4 year enlistment, then return for an additional 4 or six year commitment – that couldn’t hurt.
