Sorry to be so late. I could tell from what was up last night that there was more coming … and then I overslept. Oh well, most people save it till evening anyway.

Hollywood’s Walk of Shame: The History of Asian Stereotypes in Pop Culture
“Some people think what happens in Hollywood doesn’t matter” – Ouch. That really hits a nerve for me. Too many people think that what happens in art – any kind of art – drama, literature, painteing and sculpture – doesn’t matter But I am haunted to this day by just one story from an early issue of Ms. magazine. A little girl whose mother was a doctor was asked what she wanted to be when she grew up. “A nurse,” she said. “Not a doctor?” “Girls can’t be doctors.” You know she did not get that idea at home.
As I type, it is only about 10:30 am in Portland – which would have been more than enough time for TC to have posted normally, but quite possibly not enough time for a computer tech to have arrived, or, having arrived, to have finished. I’m going to put up the video thread early and wait before putting up a placeholder.
I know I’ve been kind of pushing Glenn Kirschner, and his videos run longish (this one is 9 minutes), but he is so articulate and really knows the Constitution, I find every second I spend with him is educational and profitable. The Fourth Amendment, people.

Parody Project (and TFT) respond to YouTube taking down their video not too long ago. Brilliant. Also, a link to a new location!
Beau – President Biden is nominating many extremely qualified people, including some whose credentials are not exactly expected (spoiler: and probably better than the usual.) This pick is a case in point.
MSNBC – BBMM makes Bernie laugh (OK, it’s actually more of a sardonic grin.)
American Bridge – I try to include something funny that’s not political – but so much today that’s political is funny – in presentation, if not in subject – the new “Karen” can wait a day or two.
Beau talks about Beau, and a story
