It’s a relatively lazy holiday here in the CatBox. My esophageal tumor is making eating more painful and difficult. I’ll talk to Evelyn about that, when I go in Wednesday. My AC is acting up intermittently. When I woke up, this morning, it was pumping out heat and the inside temp was 89°. It wouldn’t power down, so I flipped the circuit breaker. Then I coaxed it into working again, for now. I’m babying it until Maintenance Dept. gets here. Of course this has to happen on a 3 day weekend. If you’re driving, please stay safe. Thank God it’s Monday.

Bernie Sanders is raising the alarm and mobilizing his army of supporters to be aware of just how dangerous a game the president is now playing.

In an interview with Politico and an email sent to his massive email list Friday, Sanders suggested that too many news organizations, social media companies, and lawmakers—in addition to the broader public—remain unaware of the manner in which Trump is laying the groundwork for a potentially devastating series of events.

“Trump is now using his lies and misinformation to sow confusion and chaos in the election process and undermine American democracy,” stated in the email, sent to millions of his supporters on Friday. “In other words, he does not intend to accept the results of the election if he loses and leave office voluntarily. This is not just a ‘constitutional crisis.’ This is a threat to everything this country stands for.”

Speaking with Politico earlier in the day, Sanders said one crucial thing to be done immediately is to educate people. “What we have got to do in the next two months is to alert the American people about what that nightmarish scenario might look like in order to prepare them for that possibility and talk about what we do if that happens,” he said… [emphasis added]

I fully agree with Bernie. The people of the US need to be fully informed about Trump’s* likely intent to overthrow the government of the US and how he is setting up an attempt to do so. RESIST!!

Two Months to Go!

There are two months left until election day, so here are some projection on the Presidency, Senate Races, House Races and Governor races. All maps are embedded from 270 to Win.

As badly as Jo Biden is beating the asshole, whose vile name I prefer not to mention, it’s a lot closer in the Electoral College. There are enough “Leans” and “Tossup” states that another disaster could happen.

The Senate is a tossup. However, even if we win all six tossup seats and all three leans Republican seats, Republicans can still control the Senate with a 44 vote minority, unless we nuke the Republican filibastards!

The Governors races show that we are still behind on the local level. One Republican in power at any level, from dawg catcher up, is one Republican too many.

It’s a busy day here in the CatBox. Store to Door should come with my groceries between 11 and 12:30. WWWendy will be coming at around 5:00 to destink the gross TomCat, change my pain patch, goop, and help with chores. My first Pembrolizumab treatment is scheduled next Wednesday. Because of WWWendy’s work schedule, I have to take the TriMet Lift bus there, but I timed it to finish at 4:30 PM so WWWendy can pick me up. Thank you all for your prayers and support. From Politico (June): The House’s highest-ranking Republicans are racing to distance themselves from a leading GOP congressional candidate in Georgia after POLITICO uncovered hours of Facebook videos in which she expresses racist, Islamophobic and anti-Semitic views.

The candidate, Marjorie Taylor Greene, suggested that Muslims do not belong in government; thinks black people “are held slaves to the Democratic Party”; called George Soros, a Jewish Democratic megadonor, a Nazi; and said she would feel “proud” to see a Confederate monument if she were black because it symbolizes progress made since the Civil War.

Greene finished first in a primary for a deep-red, northwest Georgia seat last week by a nearly 2-to-1 margin over the second-place candidate. She is entering an August runoff as the favorite to secure the Republican nomination for a district where that is tantamount to winning the general election in November. Her initial victory — which has sparked panic in GOP circles — comes as Republicans are grappling with a national reckoning over racial injustice and police brutality after George Floyd, an unarmed black man, was killed by a Minneapolis police officer last month.

It’s a hot, busy day here in the CatBox. I’m waiting for Diana, my palliative care nurse, to come change my patch, hopefully at about 9:30 AM. I’m already running late, because I overslept. Tomorrow is a WWWendy day, but it will not affect my publishing as she won’t be back from Eastern Oregon until mid-afternoon tomorrow. I texted WWKristen, who is with her and promised they will both stay safe and naughty. Oh God, it’s Monday! Update: Diana came and changed my patch.

From AlterNet: The Daily Caller has taken tens of thousands of dollars to help Republican campaigns raise money while performing political fact-check services for Facebook.

Federal election filings from the National Republican Senatorial Committee and the National Republican Congressional Committee show that the two organizations rented email lists from the publication this year, paying $40,213.75 and $18,171.40, respectively.

The Caller, a right-wing publication co-founded by Fox News personality Tucker Carlson, has also since 2016 sent dozens of emails “paid for by Trump Make America Great Again Committee,” a joint fundraising vehicle shared by the Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee, according to Media Matters.

Media Matters also revealed that The Daily Caller has sent sponsored emails on behalf of a number of Republican candidates this year. Media Matters posted screenshots of the emails, from Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C; Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio; the Senate Conservatives Fund; and the Bikers for the President PAC.

It’s a very busy day, here in the CatBox. I got to bed late last night. I slept poorly, because it was muggy. WWWendy gooped me a cheese omelet. The new recipe worked. It tasted wonderful! It was the first time I could eat an egg in months. This morning I took another YUGE dump. How did the entire Republican Reich get up there? I took a double dose of pain med and am barely hanging on.That was four hours ago. I’m about to add another single. I can’t lay down to rest my back, because I expect a delivery of portable O₂ tanks anytime between now and 1:00 PM. WWWendy and I are changing our schedule for a bit. Instead of our normal Wed/Sun routine, we’re changing to Tues/Sat at least through 6/19, due to medical mayhem. Happy Hump Day!

From Alternet: Rep. Steve King, widely known as the most overtly racist member of Congress, was defeated Tuesday in the Republican primary battle for Iowa’s 4th District.

Challenger Randy Feenstra, a state senator, officially beat King by a margin of 36,797 votes to 28,977 with 100% of precincts reporting, according to The New York Times. Feenstra, who won by a margin of just under 10 points, will go on to face Democrat J.D. Scholten in November.

King, who was stripped of his committee assignments after expressing sympathy for white nationalists and white supremacists, later denounced the ideologies. But King already had a long and established history of racist comments under his belt.

It could not have happened to a more Republican Republican. RESIST!!
