Lynn has now won her twelfth Big Mouth Award. Her last Big Mouth award was for the 87,000th comment on 2/18/2017. For many years she has been one of our top commentators, and is also one of only two people, other than myself, that I have authorized as a co-equal administrator of this site.. Lynn is a denizen of Care2, and is still a Canadian, unfortunately for the US. I’ve said this before, but it still bears repeating. If 10% of US citizens had half, or if half of US citizens had 10% of the knowledge of and insight into US politics that this Canadian gal regularly displays, our country would be far better off. Congrats Lynn! She is a treasure, whose contribution to this site cannot be overstated, but I am stating it again. Please join me in piling on the kudos and praise, because our Sasquatch is without equal. That mouth is so big it dwarfs her feet!
Compared to April, May results were down in Bandwidth and strongly up in every other category. That’s excellent news.

Compared with last May, we are down in Uniques and Visits and up in every other category. That means fewer visitors are doing more.
Here is our ClustrMap for 2018 YTD. This is five months’ traffic.
ClustrMap misses a lot of visits, because many visits can’t be easily traced to a location.
Here are our top five articles:
Monthly Report for April 2018 5/2/2018 748
Memorial Day 5/28/2018 719
This Week’s Most Outrageous Republican Moments 5/26/2018 718
Bernie on the Iran Nuclear Deal 5/15/2018 692
PhD in Bullshitology 5/25/2018
The count represents only the people who opened the page for that specific article. All were from May. I wrote all 5. I am somewhat surprised that our lead article was a Monthly Report. I would have been happier to see more of our other authors’ work represented here. Lona has been preparing for the great migration, and the Squatch has been hiding from green tornados, but Nameless, and especially JD published some truly superior articles.
Here are our top non-blog/news referrers (100 referral minimum):

We had 7 sites with 2 or more referrals, down 4 from April. Putting blogs’ links here increases the ratings of their sites, so this “linkey love” is our thank you for their referral support. We still need to improve this. I still think I need to start visiting our blog roll, which is terribly out of date.
As of midnight June 1, we had 8,238 articles and 98,769 comments.
Kudos to Richard, who earned a Big Mouth Award in May for making the 98,000 comment.

This is our policy on links. We do not embed links to extreme Republican websites, like Faux Noise, Breitfart or World Nut Daily. We now have five months, before we will have a major opportunity to reclaim part of our nation from the monster that possesses all three branches of government. If you haven’t started working toward that end, you are way past due.
Thank you for your support here, and kudos for all the good you do, everywhere you do it.

Here are the results of our “Which Fuhrer is worse?" poll. Politics Plus Polls are not scientific, because those who respond are not balanced according to demographic categories. Therefore, we do not accurately reflect the makeup of the US population. Nevertheless, our polls are usually factually accurate, and more often than not, they reflect thinking of the majority of those who actually do think.

I voted "Worse". He’s already got his eye on the WH with dreams of upsetting the applecart even more. At least with Dumpster we know he’s just crazy.
Posted by SoINeedAName May 11, 2018 at 10:59 pm. From: MO (US)
I voted "Worse" – because the GOP would be a unified voice.
At least now a small percentage of republicans are embarrassed by the antics and policies of Trump. That would disappear w/ Pence – a well-practiced hate-monger of longstanding.
Posted by Yvonne White May 6, 2018 at 1:22 pm. From: IL (US)
Pence would be just as bad – but more focused…but he doesn’t have that trumpster bandwagon. He can’t fake it like trump, and his stupid "laws" as Gov. are being tossed..so we MIGHT have a chance. Plus, I think he was almost as deep in the election rigging as trump.

All depends on who controls the House & Senate.

With all the evidence against Pence and Drumpfenfarten, maybe we would get Schiff! With Ryan stepping down, and all the others with evidence against them, we should have them just about ALL cleaned out! ROTFLAMAO!

Worse, because, as Gene says, he is soooo far too the right, but also because of two other issues:
1- After tDump, the country may just take a time out for a few deep breaths, and he will seem, will appear, more reasonable, certainly less distractible, and calmer.
2- This will give him cover for his bonzo evangelical, "Jesus is talking to me" behind the scenes manipulations. See my posting, at C2, regarding the somewhat quiet, but gathering storm of evangelical, Dominionist politics: http://www.care2.com/news/member/565542931/4102295

Worse. He’s so far to the right of Trump he’s not even in the picture.
Posted by Lona Goudswaard May 1, 2018 at 9:55 pm. From: (NL)
Pence may be worse because he has about the same agenda Drumpf has, only more zealous, but he won’t fill his administration with complete incompetence. His people may actually accomplish what they set out to do: make America white and Christian and have them serve their lords: the 1%.
However, Pence being worse doesn’t mean Drumpf is the better choice and he should stay on, He should go and take Pence with him.
Posted by Pat B May 1, 2018 at 10:50 am.
I find him more sneakier, than dt, who bloviates on a daily basis. He’s more quieter, but certainly not a good choice (unfortunately) for the needs of our Nation right now.
Posted by dave c May 1, 2018 at 10:29 am.
better, as horrible as his policies are…..similar to Rumpenstein, he is not such an arrogant jerk…….although wouldn’t work for anyone, but his cronies either……..I am not sure the Cult of Pence is as large or crazy as the Cult of Trump
Posted by Joanne D May 1, 2018 at 10:20 am.
Well, this is another – I won’t call it a trick question, but definitely a tricky question. I’ve been thinking that Pence would be worse, because he is both a a Dominionist, and an experienced politician who know how sausage is made. But, on reflection, I’m not so sure. What I said is true, but it’s not the whole truth. What he lacks is the populist charisma (I know, I don’t feel it either, but his followers do). He isn’t the Messiah. Only Trump os the Messiah. And that would throw a huge monkey wrench into getting done what he wants to get done. Do I’m going to go with "Just as bad."
I voted worse. While Pence and Trump are virtually identical when it comes to policies, Trump is so flighty that, when he meets resistance, he moves on. Pence is single minded and will persist until he tastes blood. Furthermore Pence will strive to convert the US to a Dominionist Theocracy. Worst of all, if Trump goes down, the average ignorant, apathetic US voter will assume the problem is solved and stick his head back in the sand.
The new poll is up. Enjoy!!

Trick question. Social and economic issues are so intertwined that one cannot be truly addressed without the other. Republicans here in the US have been conning us for decades if not centuries trying to convince us that one is more important than the other, ‘Tain’t so.
Posted by gene jacobson April 5, 2018 at 4:21 am.
I went with Lona, economic issues are rising in importance but that’s due to the bungling of Trump more than real issues with our economy and can be handled. What we are truly struggling with are social issues of every king with racism leading the list. Those we MUST deal with and they will decide the 2018 and 2020 elections, in my opinion.
Posted by Lona Goudswaard April 2, 2018 at 11:41 pm.
I voted "more social and less economic issues" because I believe important economic issues such as poverty and the ever widening gap between the 1% and the rest are social issues in core. Even climate change is a social issue and can only be battled in a serious way with equality and shared responsibility.
Posted by Mitch D. April 2, 2018 at 1:23 pm.
Wow! at this point every vote agrees with mine.
At this point, with embargoes creating embargoes, tDump yelling thing about no DACA, and the right wing-nuts trying to demean the kids from Parkland, I think the Dems will do best with a message that revolves around economic and social inclusion.
I voted more economic and less social issues. While I agree that social and economic issues are equally important, I recognize that is a progressive view, and we progressives are a minority of voters. The majority are less concerned with politics and tend to vote their pocketbooks and wallets. Concentrating more on economic issues, without forgetting social issues, and supporting each other’s issues will help attract these voters.
The new poll is up.

Voted I have no idea, because it will probably depend on how deep the
is that Mueller finds, and which way the rethugs think will come closest to saving their asses. Hopefully, they won’t find any way TO save them.
Posted by SoINeedAName March 4, 2018 at 12:05 pm.
I voted "No Idea" – but that’s because I think it’s almost a trick question.
Recalling the uproar Comey created by re-opening the Hillary email boondoggle just days before the election, it wouldn’t surprise me if Mueller holds off any announcement until after the 2018 election.
And since the new Congress (now controlled by Democrats in BOTH chambers) is not seated until noon on the 3rd day of January, 2019 – it impeachment will not occur "this year".
BUT I also think it’s quite possible that Trump will be so certifiably CRAZY that Mueller will act soon and with dispatch to quite literally save our nation and Constitution.
And yes, I think that Trump is under so much pressure he may actually go off the deep-end and pull a Queeg scenario just like in "Caine Mutiny".
It’s THAT BAD now.

I have NO idea. The repukkklican have no guts and will probably stay with this crazy bunch until the wheels fall off! But you can never tell about them.
Posted by gene March 2, 2018 at 2:43 am.
Am voting have no idea because so much depends on what Mueller finds. I read this morning that some on the Republican side, have suddenly realized that Mueller have EVIDENCE of Americans who were complicit in working with those 13 indicted Russians. From other things I’ve read, those could include McConnell, Ryan and others high up in the party chain. If that’s true, that changes the whole matter and we have a constitutional crisis on our hands because if convicted in a criminal trial, i don’t think any of them, Trump/Pence included could continue to hold office. That throws the whole government into disarray that will need be resolved by the Supreme Court – somehow, with no actual precedent. It is going to be an extremely interesting 18-24 months I think.

Standing with Drumpf is like most of the things the GOP are paid to stand behind; climate change denial or tax cuts to enrich the rich, their greed and stupidity prohibits them from seeing the consequences let alone acknowledge they have past a point of no return. They will doggedly continue to destroy the country and ultimately themselves. They’ll follow their Führer into his bunker.

I believe that the GOPIGS will just double down, will more loudly insist that it’s all nothing but a politically motivated scam. Faux News will spontaneously combust, as Hannity and ilk try to outdo one another with inflamatory oratory.

I have no clue how republicans think once you get over their selfishness, greed, fear, and lying
I voted with the majority. A few will make noise, but they love the way Trump keeps attention focused on his antics, leaving them free to pillage the country at will.
