Here are the results of our “Will Republicans Impeach?” poll.  Politics Plus Polls are not scientific, because those who respond are not balanced according to demographic categories.   Therefore, we do not accurately reflect the makeup of the US population.  Nevertheless, our are usually factually accurate, and more often than not, reflect will of the national majority.

I really wanted to vote "Very Unlikely" – BUT given the abject STUPIDITY of these rethuglican hate-mongers I upped it to "Somewhat Unlikely"

Posted by Rixar13  November 27, 2014 at 6:46 am.

"Very likely" – It’s all they’ve got.

I voted "Somewhat Unlikely" because no one – and I mean NO ONE – can be THAT f\/cking racist and stupid

Oh, wait … we’re talking about Rethuglicans, aren’t we?

Can I change my vote?

I think they will try to impeach him for something, it won’t matter what to them, they just want to embarrass him if they can.

Posted by Yvonne White  November 17, 2014 at 3:04 pm.

It’s their god-given right! ;

clip_image002

Of Course these idiots will try!!!! But it’s all smoke & mirrors & wasteful expense for Nothing. Clinton proved that Impeachment might hurt your feelings, but Does NOT Remove you from office!

Posted by Dotti Lydon  November 17, 2014 at 6:24 am.

I voted very unlikely, but they sure as hell are going to try.

Posted by gene  November 17, 2014 at 4:08 am.

They might vote articles of impeachment, but I rather doubt it and they don’t have enough votes in the Senate to complete an impeachment process anyway – which might make it more likely they’ll vote the articles – for show so their "base" will know how tough they are. Maroons…

oops Boehner to left

Posted by Joanne D  November 17, 2014 at 3:55 am.

They are very likely to keep talking about nothing else for the next two years. They are only somewhat likely to actually do it. They are all hat and no cattle.

Posted by mamabear  November 17, 2014 at 3:55 am.

I voted Toss-up. I really don’t think even they know. Cruz to right.Boehner to the right and McConnell stuck in the middle with a " I just want to go down in history as the man who took Obama down". My My what a dilemma.

Posted by Arielle   November 17, 2014 at 2:14 am.

Impeach him for what? He’s doing his job – they are not. They are busy making life miserable for him and all the rest of us, too. The man only has two years left….very unlikely they could or would.

Posted by Patty  November 17, 2014 at 1:56 am.

Somewhat likely. It depends on how loudly their "base" demands it.

clip_image003

Posted by Phil  November 16, 2014 at 9:11 pm.

Very likely! Once again, I base my answer on past performance.

Posted by thubten  November 16, 2014 at 12:23 pm.

why would they give up a good thing?

clip_image004

The comments make it clear that not everyone understands impeachment.  If House Republicans opt to vote a Bill of Impeachment, Obama will be impeached.  To be impeached is not the same as to be removed from office.  In addition to impeachment, removal requires conviction in a Senate trial.  Conviction requires a 2/3 majority of the Senate.

I voted ‘Somewhat likely’.  The leadership is savvy enough to realize that the frivolous charges available to them are most likely to be a public relations nightmare, and that they have no chance to get the 67 Senate votes needed to convict, if the House does impeach him.  The problem the leadership faces is that their racist hatemongering has inflamed the party’s rabid base.  So the reason for my vote is that the TEAbuggery tail is likely to wag the leadership’s dog, as it so frequently has.

The new poll is up and is more personal.

This is Arielle’s first Big Mouth award.  She’s a denizen of Care2, and has been following us there for years, but just recently started commenting here at the site.  We’re sure glad she did, because her enthusiasm and wit make this a better place to be.  Hot buttons for her are people in need, the environment, climate change, food safety, human rights, animal welfare and more.  Please give her lots of kudos and hugs, because she lives in Bubba Bagger’s Backyard, and she’s been getting a really raw Deal.  I feel like a big brother to her, but I can’t imagine why. 😉

I believe he will do what he can – he no longer has to worry about elections or even the other spineless Dems. But, of course, there is only so much ONE person CAN do especially when surrounded by GOP snot heads.

Posted by Edie  November 12, 2014 at 5:50 pm.

I voted toss up because I never can predict what he will do.

Posted by Yvonne White  November 10, 2014 at 9:37 am.

I voted Toss Up because I’m not happy with his "advisors". I believe he’s a good guy, but he kept too many Bu$h Leaguers in place to begin with, hasn’t uncoupled himself from "moderates", and seems to NEED excessive & overwhelming feedback before he Realizes something is pissing us off or we are Demanding a certain thing. We’re still being mugged by Ungodly Loan prices & Credit Card debt, no REAL Consumer Protection still..etc.

Posted by Patty  November 10, 2014 at 12:53 am.

I think it’s a toss-up ad depends on how well he can lie to them and offer them a deal that he reneges on like they have done to him for 6 years.

very likely after all he seems to be one of the few who will stand with him. I think he is as a honest and trust worthy as a man can be. I think he has always been for the little guy he is the kind of man who against all odds he will still with us. We may always agree with how he goes about it but he at least has the answer on how to get the job done.

Posted by gene  November 7, 2014 at 4:34 am.

I went very likely and that is hope more than anything. He is the ONLY person standing between the 1% and the rest of the country, they don’t have enough votes to override a veto, so he has to stand firm; there is no one else to protect the rest of us from the oligarchy of the 1% and their GOP puppets.

Posted by Joanne D  November 7, 2014 at 3:48 am.

Based on his first term, I would also have said "very unlikely." He has been a little better in his second term. But it’s tough to be sure. Several groups have petitions started to him asking him to be a firewall. I have signed a couple.

Posted by Phil  November 6, 2014 at 7:51 pm.

My "very unlikely" vote is based on Obama’s past performance.

Posted by Jerry Critter  November 6, 2014 at 9:22 am.

He already tired to shred the safety net, but he did not go far enough for the teabaggers. I don’t see why he will be any different this time around.

I voted toss-up, because he caved-in after the debacle of 2010.  If I could change it, iw would change to Somewhat likely,.

A new poll is up.

If we didn’t get enough Democrats out to vote for this election, the reds will win again in Ky. I really don’t want to move.

I`d like to vote in the red with Gene but I can`t with the historical turnouts at midterms, and the propensity for election fraud and voter suppression by the Republican/Teabaggers.

Vote blue and GET OUT THE VOTE!

To the American voting public, please show me that I have erred and that Democrats will win the day!

Song – this is my song —

So, of those Americans who were registered and could vote, approximately 31% – 38% actually voted.  I suspect we’ll be trying to figure out why so many stayed home right up until the eve of the next election.  I won’t say that the people who voted Republican are stupid, or evil.  Some did co out of hatred, but not all.  Im my opinion, many were just misinformed.  At least they voted.  On the other hand, I hold those people who could have voted but refused to make the effort, beneath contempt.  These people will be whining about what this Congress does.  They deserve it.

There is a new poll ready for you.

In October, Politics Plus was improved in all categories.  Here is our latest summary:

usage10-2014

Stats10-2014

In the monthly totals, a Site is any website from which someone accessed our server, a Hit is every access attempt to our server, and a File is every access attempt to our server that returned data.  The difference between Hits and Files is from access attempts that were sent in error or damaged in transit and failed attempts by hackers, spammers, phishers, and Republicans to access the back end and take control of the site.  Any questions?

Here is last month’s Clustrmap, because they are updating and offline:

Map9-2014

ClusterMaps misses a lot of, because many visits can’t be easily traced to a location.  It shows only the visits from March 2 to September 6, when it was last updated.  Therefore the map is unchanged from last month.

Here are our top five articles:

A Republican Freedom 9/24/2013 1,090 views
Jane Smiley: Capitalist Pigs 1/17/2010 758 views
How RepubliCorp Is Ducking Taxes 7/27/2014 442 views
Last Week’s Republican Lunacies 6/9/2014 268 views
A Republican Staffer Tells the Truth! 9/5/2011 258 views

Several years are represented here, but at least one article from last month should have made the list.

Here are our top non-blog/news referrers:

Google 2,362
Care2 2,285
Stumbleupon 336

All are slightly up, but Bing fell below 100 referrals.

The 2014 elections are two days away.  If Republicans take the Senate we will have two years of even worse gridlock, because they will continue to sabotage America, hoping to present themselves as saviors in 2016.  We have the votes to stop them, if people actually vote.

Thank you for all you have done to…

Get Out the VOTE!!!

57-Patty

Patty is a regular, and you’ll find her excellent comments on virtually every article, almost every day.  She comes to us from Care2, but not recently, because a bug at that site nixed her ID again.    This is her eighth Big Mouth Award, having also posted the 28,000th comment in January, the 31,000th comment in May, the 33,000th comment in July, the 35,000th in September 2012.  She posted the 41,000th in March and   the 49,000th in November 2013. She also posted the 51,000th  in March, 2014.  Patty’s is still a MAJOR Jig Zone predator, and is now known as the Patty Monster.  She attacks those puzzles with all the zeal of a Republican politician protecting racist police.    Though seldom Cat Boxed, she does get Big footed and on occasion.  She almost got me in fantasy football! She remains a completely welcome regular here.  Please be generous with your praise, which she certainly deserves.

Pardon the delay. With my recent schedule, it just got by me.

Long, long time… the SCOTUS have children who have been brainwashed into thinking as they think – The Koch brothers probably have coffins in their basements and will just keep living as all vampires do. Etc. etc.

I said 24 because several of them are young enough to last that long.

Posted by Rixar13  October 4, 2014 at 6:09 am.

16 years is a wild guess but with a Republican Congress – Longer

clip_image002

Posted by Phil  October 3, 2014 at 4:58 pm.

Longer = forever. Republicans must never again wield power and influence over U.S. American politics; they’re a danger to the nation and to the world.

Posted by Patty  October 2, 2014 at 6:09 am.

I was going to say 16 and then thought these Koch suckers can afford excellent medical care and will be kept alive no matter what happens to them just like Chicken Hawk Cheney. I went with 24 because it might be enough to get rid of at east 2 of the older ones.

Posted by Joanne D  October 2, 2014 at 4:08 am.

I was optimistic and sent with 16 years. But you guys may be right. Unfortunately, however long it is, I doubt I will be around to see even the tipping appointment, let alone the cleanup. Don’t get discouraged – keep fighting – you younger ones.

Posted by Yvonne White  October 1, 2014 at 10:29 am.

I went with 24 years (at Least), because RepubliCONs never retire or die as soon as you Need them to! 🙁

Posted by mamabear  October 1, 2014 at 9:47 am.

24 or more. With the clowns on the other side I can see it happening. fingers crossed

Posted by dave c  October 1, 2014 at 7:15 am.

unfortunately I say at least 48, some of GW’s appts are still so young…..of course, the real answer maybe no matter of time will ever undue the atrocities the GOP has done to the citizens of the US and the world.

clip_image001[1]

Posted by gene  October 1, 2014 at 2:49 am.

24 at least, maybe more. That should get rid of Scalia and Thomas and it is important to control the Senate so progressive nominee’s can be confirmed.

Posted by John Dasef  September 30, 2014 at 3:05 pm.

Unfortunately, most of the fascist five are relatively young. Unless one or more of them are impeached, which is unlikely, we will spend a long time waiting for them to die.

I voted Longer.  I figured that it will be another 20 – 25 years before the last of the fascist five is ready to retire, or if they die in office, begin their downward journey.   However I did bot pick 24, because they will do a lot more damage during that time, ands once their gone, that damage will not be instant instantly repaired.  I figure that will take another 20 – 25 years.

The new poll is up, and I’m not going to insult your intelligence by making false claims about it.  It’s the only political push poll I have written.  My God grant that I never feel the need to write another.
