Here is the second article in our Republicans on Parade series, featuring individuals who personify what the Republican Party has become.  Today’s honoree is Larry Pratt from Gun Owners of America, chosen because of his views on the transition of power in America.

16TreasonLarry Pratt of Gun Owners of America once again compared President Obama to King George III during an interview with the UK’s Channel 4 News. He told reporter Matt Frei that Americans don’t accept the “statistical argument” that a lack of gun control is linked to higher levels of gun violence, arguing that the Second Amendment is meant to “keep the government at bay.”

“When the colonists said you’ve become a tyrant, stop it, and when he wouldn’t stop, we shot, and we got rid of your King,” Pratt said, who went on to liken Obama to King George III.

Pratt said that President Obama “should remember King George III’s experience” as he “seems to forget that he was democratically elected.”…

Like far too many Republicans, Pratt zeroes in on his own view of a Constitutional issue, but ignores that the Constitution is clear that we transfer power in this country through elections, not at gun point, which is treason.

    I know I'll go on the maggots' hit list, but did this maggot just crawl out of King Georgie's rotting corpse?

    At the very least, I would think that this Republican/Teabagger is on the Secret Service's radar as a least desirable vermin.  What he has said, is in my mind, a direct threat to Mr Obama, no different than that idiot Ted Nugent's threat last year.  He is very close to inciting violence.  Isn't he just the cutist little cupcake on the plate.

    Larry Pratt is a fine example proving lunacy of the Gun Owners of America actually makes the NRA seem half-way sane.

     

    Pratt has called for the impeachment of Pres. Obama; has said that denying firearms to the dangerously mentally ill was "a dictatorial power" that "they use[d] … in Nazi Germany"; and even got kicked off anti-Semite Pat Buchanan's '96 presidential campaign because of Pratt's close ties with white supremacists.

    Larry Pratt has been Executive Director of Gun Owners of America for over 30 years. GOA is a national membership organization of 300,000 Americans dedicated to promoting their Second Amendment freedom to keep and bear arms.

    Lobbyist and nothing more.
