If feels good to have a full set of articles today. I’m current with replies. Tomorrow appears routine.

Short Takes:
From MoveOn: If Corporations Were Honest: How Exxon Feels About Our Children
I don’t think Exxon hates them, per se. It’s more that, in their lust for profit, human suffering is not important enough to be considered. It is sad that they own a political party.
From LA Times: Faced with regular barrages of gunfire, officers confronting suspected killer Christopher Dorner lobbed incendiary tear gas into the cabin where Dorner allegedly was holed up, said law enforcement officials with knowledge of the situation.
The cabin caught on fire and authorities believe Dorner was burned inside. [now confirmed]
I hate to say this, but it’s hard to think of many high publicity, barricaded fugitives that were not burned out by authorities, beginning with Black Panthers in the 1960s. Incendiary tear gas should not be used.
From NY Times: Mr. Rubio is a rising star, to such an extent that Time magazine put him on its cover, calling him “The Republican Savior.” What we learned Tuesday, however, was that zombie economic ideas have eaten his brain.
In case you’re wondering, a zombie idea is a proposition that has been thoroughly refuted by analysis and evidence, and should be dead — but won’t stay dead because it serves a political purpose, appeals to prejudices, or both. The classic zombie idea in U.S. political discourse is the notion that tax cuts for the wealthy pay for themselves, but there are many more. And, as I said, when it comes to economics it appears that Mr. Rubio’s mind is zombie-infested.
Paul Krugman could not be more spot-on. The ‘Republican Savior’ demonstrated that he could not even pass Bottle Feeding 101.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
I like Paul Krugman's analogy – but doesn't it apply to all the GOP these days? Thanks TC
Indeed it does, Pat.
4:18 I can't controll the mouse. It goes all over the page like my kitties are chasing it. Looks like I have to do some more work on the computer.
3:34 I am trying to get out of the rain as fast as possible. Will Lynn block my way?
Patty, maybe it is time for a new mouse? Also, I assume you have replaced the batteries?
4:10 I kept looking down and I am not big on heights!
It's not a mouse, per se. It's a touch pad on a laptop but it's still acting like a crazy mouse, scrolling all over the place when it's not supposed to.
Patty, you better get a mouse. Touchpads are too coarse for this.
I had been using a touch pad all this time. It only started screwing up after this most recent crash. Maybe it's time for a new laptop.
Really? You must be incredible with it!
Puzzle — 4:10 I kept looking down and I am not big on heights!
MoveOn — It may not be the literal truth, but it is the practical truth. But not just the children . . . everyone including the planet. Just think of these fossil fuel companies exploiting the planet for greed . . . what will they do when there is nothing left to exploit?
LA Times — Such a device is over the top and poses too many potential problems like a fire going out of control. Police could have used ordinary tear gas and then waited him out.
NY Times — The "full zombie" — almost sounds like dance step, but in actual fact is a broken record! I'll say it yet again, in recessions during the past 50 years, recessions that both Republicans and Democrats had turns at dealing with, the successful exit strategy was prudent government spending, investment spending in infastructure etc, not slashing of government programmes that benefit the poor, elderly and unemployed. The current crop of Republican/Teabaggers are proving the fallacy of the age old adage that elephants don't forget! The current crop of elephants don't remember the lessons of their forebears.
Cartoon — Having never heard of this, I googled it. Wikipedia has a very interesting article, full of international intrigue and the usual conspiracy theories.
I was Critter Crunched.
Die.
My point exactly.Too true.
After extensive study, I dsetermined that the conspiracy theories were correct. The explosives were placed inside the hull.
Good news. I received an e-mail from Open Media on Bill C-30 which was the subject of one of my articles:
Wooo Hooo! Harper's harlots lost big time!
