One prediction about tomorrow is certain. Republicans will do everything humanly possible to steal this election. There are going to be countless irregularities. To provide cover for this, Republicans will be staging false flag irregularities. The best way is to defend yourselves and others is to go armed to the polls. No, Iβm not talking about taking guns. Using violence as a threat is InsaniTEA. Our weapons of choice must be cameras.
Judging from recent experience, close presidential elections tend to coincide with problems at the polls. Remember the 2000 election’s butterfly ballots and dangling chads? Or, four years later, the 10-hour lines in Knox County, Ohio? Though civil rights groups worry that history will again repeat itself this year, at least one thing will be different: what’s in our pockets. Anybody with a smartphone can now shoot video of polling irregularities and upload it to the internet. But someone must still curate all of this citizen journalism, and that’s where a group called Video The Vote comes in.
A member of a network of voting rights groups known as the Election Protection Coalition, Video the Vote wants anybody who notices voting problems to document the situation and bring the footage to its attention. "In an era of partisan voter purges, onerous ID requirements, and organized intimidation, it’s not enough for citizens to just cast their ballots," says Matt Pascarella, Video The Vote’s campaign director. In addition to collecting citizen uploads, he’ll field a national network of his own videographers to target swing-state hotspots.
You might end up seeing some of these videos on the Mother Jones website; I’ll be embedded with Video The Vote office during much of Election Day. In addition, Mother Jones is encouraging readers to report any poll problems, voter intimidation, and vote-suppression attempts you might encounter via our own interactive map and "Guide to Voter Suppression and Poll Problems."… [emphasis added]

Hereβs a Video the Vote video.
If you have already voted, you might want to consider checking out some of the polling places in your area. Republican crimes must be documented.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
YES YES YES TAKE VIDEO (I do this all the time, very effective) this VOTER SUPPRESSION must be stopped. Sign up to make calls if you can. Knock on doors.
The Pugs/T's are out in force, making phone calls, knocking on doors and the ROBOCALLS are overwhelming. LET US MAKE CERTAIN THAT THIS ELECTION IS NOT STOLEN. I feel like the old saying "cat on a hot tin roof", so nervous. I am beating the bushes for Obama/Biden.
This BS makes me so sad for my country, and I will add, voted for quite a few years and I have NEVER seen anything like this one. And don't kid yourself, it is only because of the color of the man who is President I have heard the "N" word and also "I am voting for the WHITE man" many times. Shameful.
Thanks TC. I keep wanting to send you and some of the commenters a GOLD STAR. Great job, all of you.
Thanks Gypsy. I agree!
It really has come to this—carry a cam- learn to use it– if I can learn anybody can— the clerks at WalMart– Walgreens- Osco- Verizon- costco– any place phones etc are sold– will show you– any young person will delight to teach you- In my experience they love it and kids are great teachers for us older or incompetent , techno impaired– whatever-slows us down-
Go armed!!
Right on Phyllis!
TC——-right after I posted this, my account was blocked on C2. They have suspended me.
That is horrifying that they would do that to you!
Gypsy, don't feel bad. I was suspended a few months back , got back on twice and was suspended yet again. This time, I suspended them from my Favorites list and no longer go there. I was a member for 11 years.
I think it was the T-Baggers that got me——-although I said nothing radical ———but there are a bunch of them that signed up in September and anytime "one of their own" puts up an article bashing the Democrats or Obama, they all flock in and note it to take it to the front page.
I am thinking that I will leave it to them as they won't tell me why I was suspended or how long it will be, if I can get through to them, I will have them just delete me, although when I went in this morning, I was "allowed" to do my "clicks" and note articles——-nothing more, no comments, nothing. LOL .
Gypsy, here's what doesn't make sense. If they were going to do anything, I would think they would be going after me. I have to be one of the most hated people there by the Baggers, so I would think I would be one of the biggest targets.
My thinking is that you have so many friends that would raise hell if they did that to you–TC–at last count—I had 14 friends and some of those are only in name as they wanted to get the word out about their charity. LOL—No matter—I can do a lot for everything at home base without spending hours noting. Free at last—Thank God O-Mighty I am free at last. (think I ticked off several yesterday when I said something about the "Graham" family–you know the preacher clan. Thanks Edith, Patty and TC . If this stays put——–you all have a big GOLD STAR.
You may be right! You know tou're welcome here!
You may be right! You know you're welcome here!
I'm a volunteer driver tomorrow for Sen. Claire McCaskill here in the KCMO Metro (sadly, Obama doesn't have much of a chance to carry MO – so might as well at least help re-elect Claire and keep Akin OUT).
And I would add that there are two numbers you might want to add to your Contacts list on your phone:
Obama Voter Hotline @ 1.800.311.8683
General Voter Hotline @ 1.866.687-8683
(Yeah – they both end in "8683" – it's V-O-T-E on your phone)
I also added my Jackson County Election Board phone number – not a bad idea to include yours.
Way to go, Nameless!
Thanks for the numbers!
I know Kentucky is a lost cause for us, they have voted Red forever. I am still going to the polls with my husband and 83 year old mother to vote for Obama. Sadly, none of us have smart phones.
Then take your stone tablets and chisels, Edie. π
Never give up! May you get to see Bought Bitch Mitch dumped!
I have three words of advice from this old bank auditor and mortgage fraud investigator: document, document, and DOCUMENT!
But do it legally! Video with your smart phone if you can! But if that isn't possible, make sure you have a witness with you, or get the names of witnesses around you, preferably the first as many people don't like to 'get involved'. Get the names of the 'trouble makers' and make detailed notes. Don't rely on your brain as believe me, the brain does become jumbled.
I wish I could vote with you, but as a Canadian citizen I can't! But I hope and pray for a Democratic victory as this is the only viable option right now to continue to propel the country forward out of the 8 year abyss of the Baby Bush Republican/Teabagger reign of terror.
I have three things to say about you advice: amen, amen, and AMEN!
A former Republican governor had a lot to say about voting. From the HuffPo:
Former New Jersey Gov. Christine Todd Whitman (R) sharply criticized the confusion and long lines at some Florida polling places Monday during an appearance on MSNBC.

She thinks RepublicanT are making a big mistake if they are responsible.
I have never seen a political organization do more to become a pariah.
Yes, but then what do we do with that to change the election outcome if Romney steals the election? That's the hard part. How do we get rid of him if he thinks he won?
I'll be here, too, Tom!
