Perhaps three of Willard Romney’s biggest debate lies related to Women’s Rights. He said that he supports equal pay for women. He said that he supports the right of women to have access to birth control. He said that, after he was elected, he was presented with all male cabinet candidates, so he instituted a search for qualified women.
It has dawned on Mitt Romney that he has a problem with female voters. He just has no idea what to do about it, since it is the result of his positions on abortion, contraception, health services and many other issues. On Tuesday night, he bumbled his way through a cringe-inducing attempt to graft what he thinks should be 2012 talking points onto his 1952 sensibility.
In the midst of their rancorous encounter at Hofstra University, President Obama attacked Mr. Romney for vowing he would end federal support of Planned Parenthood and for criticizing the provision in the health care law that requires employers — except churches and religiously affiliated institutions — to provide insurance coverage for contraceptives.
Clearly agitated, Mr. Romney said in response, “I’d just note that I don’t believe that bureaucrats in Washington should tell someone whether they can use contraceptives or not, and I don’t believe employers should tell someone whether they could have contraceptive care or not. Every woman in America should have access to contraceptives.”
Perhaps Mr. Romney forgot that he vetoed a bill as Massachusetts governor in 2005 that would have given women who were raped access to emergency contraception, or that he supported an amendment this year that would have allowed any business to opt out of the contraceptive mandate, or that he has said he would support a state constitutional amendment that would declare that life begins at conception — potentially making some kinds of contraceptives illegal… [emphasis added]

Alex Witt talked to Romney campaign advisor Kerry Heally, who tried to conflate the religious freedom of employers to refuse birth control with women’s right to access birth control. They also discussed the infamous binders.

She actually contradicted Willard’s lie about seeking out binders of women, although he is still making that claim on the stump. Note how she insists that two mutually exclusive positions are both true. Note how she changed the subjected and parroted lies whenever Alex tried to pin her down. I don’t think a woman in Heally’s position could be stupid enough to believe that providing universal access to birth control and allowing employers to deny birth control on religious grounds do not contradict each other. Therefore, she is learning to lie at the feet of master, the Lord of Lies.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
Nothing that comes out of his mouth contradicts any impression he despises women who have the guts to want equal treatment; ;Mitt simply cannot understand women outside their ordained roles of homemakers and brood mares-; He does not know what to do with women, who are not , in his worldview, equal.
Mutt lies, pure and simple- he is a liar :
Bingo!
Poor, poor Willard. He just has a very short memory and can't quite remember how he feels about anything.
He only knows for sure that he really, really wants to be POTUS.
A want that MUST be denied him.
I brought my daughter up just for men like this… I just can't verbalize the words and actions that she would use to put him back in reality…. 🙂
That's a sight I'd love to see.
It is women like Heally who give all women a bad rep! And since when do the religious rights or sensibilities of an employer trump the religious rights of anyone else, especially women? But of even greater concern, when did women's health concerns become an issue of religious liberty?
A large can of rat poison is needed to put Willard and his acolytes where they belong. It is called a voting machine! When you pull that handle or push that button, make your choice a Democratic one. Put all the Republican/Teabaggers in the unemployment line where they belong!
It will be the norm id Willard wins.
LOL!!
