Today’s articles are late, because I overslept. Overnight my apartment dropped out of the 90°s, and cooler weather is expected over the weekend. I’m current with replies. Tomorrow I have work to do preparing for two days of prison volunteer work next week.

From USA Today: President Obama is cutting a campaign trip in Florida short in the aftermath of a shooting spree at a Colorado movie theater that has left at least 12 dead and wounded dozens of others.
"President Obama will address the tragedy in Aurora, Colorado in remarks in Ft. Myers, Florida this morning," the Obama campaign said in a statement. "Then he will return to the White House. In light of the tragedy in Colorado, the event in Winter Park, Florida will be cancelled."
I have been in that theatre when I lived there. Thoughts and prayers for the victims and their families, please. As a culture we need to rid ourselves of the prime time TV notion that heroes should solve problems with violence, especially gun violence.
From CBS: Senate Republicans on Thursday killed a measure backed by President Barack Obama that would encourage companies to bring overseas jobs back to the United States.
The measure being pressed by Obama’s Democratic allies is rich with political symbolism, but whether it would have had much practical impact on decisions by companies to "outsource" jobs to lower-wage countries is open to question.
More proof of Republican economic sabotage. No Democrats goose-stepped with the Republican Party.

If Mittens doesn't hide the money, you'll see evidence of Bain payouts from 1999-2001. He can't withstand the scrutiny of profiting from aborted fetuses (although Republicans will weaken their ethics on a dime when asked to by their leaders. Look how they dissemble over Seamus and the crippled, doped up horse).
Most Republicans won't object. now, because they think what they are told.

What a tragedy in Colorado! What is the matter with people?
The interesting thing about republicans. They have already done whatever they are accusing Democrats of doing. Romney is just another example of this fact. Want to know what he is up to? Just look at what he is accusing the Democrats of doing. It is that simple.

And projection has been their strategy for years. Like calling a war hero (Kerry) weak, when all they had was ChickenHawks.

MoveOn — I am sitting here eating some Greek salad looking at the picture which I have seen many, many times. It seems that bills are coming out of just every conceivable opening. I'll bet that if you puched Rmoney hard enough in the gut, he'd fart a steady stream of bills from his butt! Gives new meaning to 'dirty money'!
Colorado — I was listening to a short interview with a friend of one of the victims on the radio. He said his friend had been in Toronto at the time of the Eaton Centre shooting in downtown Toronto not too long ago. She had been at the Eaton Centre, had one of those odd feelings so left. It was shortly after that that the gunman went on his murderous rampage. She is home, out at the theatre and is slain — one of 12 killed and 59 wounded. His said it was time to celebrate the lives of the victims and console the wounded and families. There would be plenty of time later to think about the murderer. I liked his attitude and started my thoughts and prayers right then in the car.
CBS — So what else can we expect from the obstructionist Republican/Teabaggers? A company is going to make their decisions depending on what the executive thinks is best for the company. If that means outsourcing/offshoring jobs, then they will do it. What they have to consider are the ramifications. There is an old saying: You can lead a horse to water but you cannot make it drink! What the US needs are laws with bite — clearly delineated penalties for their actions if they are not in the best interest of the company AND the country. BTW, as most Canadians know (at least in my generation) the other half of that saying is: And with any luck you can get a government grant to study it!
Cartoon — I listened to a recording of Neil Armstrong saying those words today, his voice somewhat choked with emotion. Truly amazing to think how far we have come technologically, yet as human beings, how barbaric we are.
