After what has seemed like an interminable wait, the Supreme Court has released their decision on the ACA. The law has been upheld, but not under the taxing authority of Congress, not the commerce clause.
Needless to say, I have not yet had time to examine the opinions, but I will doubtless have more to offer on this tomorrow.
UPDATE: The Court did strike down the requirement that States expand Medicaid.

"The law has been upheld, but not under the taxing authority of Congress, not the commerce clause."
Good news… Thumbs up ^ but devil is in the details… 🙂
I have to say I'm entirely shocked about the decision. Can the law hang on over the next few congress sessions? Tune in to find out.
My first reaction is delight, but I'm with Rixar13 as to the full implications of this decision.
I'm with the rest of you. I'll know more tomorrow.
Being sporadically optimistic, I hope Roberts being on the right side of history is a sign he believes Obama will have his next term and that a couple of the conservatives will be replaced. He might be shuffling to the left to distance himself from the wildass crazies. Certainly, Alito and Thomas both show signs of dementia. I can see them being carried out of the court kicking and screaming that they aliens have landed.

Great news, but as Richard says, "the devil is in the details"!
Mama, good link to the government web site. I would hope that all Americans would go here rather than Faux Noise or any of the other right wing nut jobs including the Republican/Teabaggers.
I guess we'll have to wait one more day for the blow by blow!
I have to share this article with you for a laugh! From the Huffington Post, Canadian Edition.
http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2012/06/28/supreme-court-health-care-move-to-canada_n_1634157.html?1340896836&utm_hp_ref=canada#slide=more235628
In the slide show, my two personal favourites:
"SCOTUS holds up free healthcare for everyone?! Screw this commie country, I;m moving to Canada."
"self-exilers: move to Mexico, not Canada, to escape that evil Obamacare. Don't drink the water, because, well you know."
It is truly amazing to me how little Americans, in general, know about Canada.
Canada has universal healthcare, and in some provinces, from as early as the 1950's. Thank you Tommy Douglas, the father of universal healthcare!
Healthcare coverage is MANDATORY! but cheaper that the US.
It is NOT FREE! Universal healthcare is paid through tax dollars so it is a national shared expense.
Canada is not a communist country, but we do care about our people (even if Stephen Harper and his harlots don't!)
There are 2 other related articles there as well which make for a quick read. And by the way, it was a 5-4 decision so you can well think who was for and who was against!
t's up to Democrats now, to make sure this program works for all Americans.I have my doubts because the insurance companies are still involved.
Democrats have been spending a lot of time simply defending programs against Republican attempts to eliminate them.
Distracting us from what needs to be done; all government programs need to be reformed, to work efficiently for America.
The math is inescapable, these programs (SS, welfare, food stamps, etc) are unsustainable without reforms.
Those reforms cannot be done with Republican majority in the House, or worse both Houses.
Democrats have the responsibility to make their programs work for everyone.
This medical plan now becomes a tax fight, and a 30 year history shows Republicans have been winning tax fights.

I predict a Huge Boost to BROCCOLI Sales! (Take that, Scalia)
Gotta LOVE Ginsburg's gumption in writing her opinion: Not only does she cite Congress following
RomneyCareMassachusetts's lead on the Individual Mandate, she also cites an earlier Scalia majority opinion in her Ruling! And for FUN – some hilarious links to make an already bright day even brighter:
Outstanding PhotoShops of CNN and Fox gigantic FAILS on getting the Ruling wrong, based on the "Dewey Defeats Truman" theme:

And a series of photos and cartoons highlighting the repubicans having a Major Sad today:

That Daily Kos piece is hilarious! Boehner sure does cry a lot! Perhaps he is seeing the writing on the wall for November — his future and that of the Republican/Teabaggers!
Thanks all. Excellent links and comments. I'll hold my piece here, because my in depth piece on this will be up in about five minutes,
