Today the news is dominated by Supreme Court decisions, so I have only one article other than this Open Thread. I’m current with replies. Tomorrow I have another appointment for physical therapy, so what I post, if anything, will depend on how soon I return home and how I feel.
Jig Zone Puzzle:
Today’s took me 4:14 (average 5:04). To do it, click here. How did you do?
Short Takes:
From MoveOn: Elizabeth Warren Takes Romney To School On What Makes People People.
Corporations are NOT people. Money is NOT speech!
From TPM: Pennsylvania House Majority Leader Mike Turzai (R) said that the voter ID law passed by the legislature would help deliver the state for Mitt Romney in November.
OOPS! Of course we already knew that was why.
From USA Today: President Obama ripped Mitt Romney today over a report that the Republican’s private equity firm invested in companies that moved jobs out of the United States to low-wage countries.
And that’s WHERE Rmoney will create jobs to maximize profit for the 1%.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
4:00 Is the one minute rule going to hold up today?
That's up to Patty.
3:20 Got it!
Yes you did…by a lot!
MoveOn — Amen!!!!! I would only add one more thing — People run corporations! — Go Elizabeth Warren!!!!!
Cartoon — Four words heard around the world! And finally, the sound that would be heard 36 years later — the smash of sledge hammers and other instruments as pieces of the wall came down, and the whole wall bulldozed in 1990. I wonder what JFK would say about the crumbing of the wall had he been alive?
There is a lesson here for the US, specifically the Republican/Teabaggers who want to deny their fellow Americans their constitutional rights. But are they intelligent enough to grasp it?
More Republican/Teabagger Parlor Tricks — Pennsylvania Republican House Leader Mike Turzai (R-PA) "…Voter ID, which is gonna allow Governor Romney to win the state of Pennsylvania, done.”
I wouldn't call him "a member of the dying breed of honest and rational Republicans". He was bragging to the choir! If he were honest, he would have "outted" his Republican/Teabagger confréres to the DOJ and maybe the MSM. If he were honest and truly cared about the rights of all Americans, he would have denounced the Republican/Teabagger actions to the party, demanding that they stop their 'vote fixing'.
Now, the DOJ needs to jump all over this. And none of this "I was misquoted." crap! The DOJ already did an investigation of voter fraud as requested by Baby Bush, and found voter fraud to be negligible — .01%!
I know that the DOJ has some other issues right now, but this is the fate of the American people hanging in the balance.
The Republican/Teabaggers will lie, cheat, steal and obfuscate to win this and any election. They have a pattern of this dishonourable conduct. Remember 2000 and the SCOTUS decision that brought you 8 years of Baby Bush?!
Rmoney — Outsourcer-in-Chief! Love the term and it is so true. If all the jobs that were outsourced overseas were brought back to the US, can you imagine the foreign relations nightmare? What would be the affect on the other countries and the global economy? I can only imagine. But something definitely has to be done so that Americans can work and earn a living wage.
I wonder if Rmoney and his seriously misinformed acolytes will decry the 'negative' ad? I personally don't think of it as a negative ad, but an add based on what Rmoney did and stood for. There is no character assassination there, just comment on actions, and by inference, what Mr Obama will not do — outsource.
But THOSE corporations are run by 1% people.
He would have rejoiced.
Bragging to the choir is a perfect description.
It's about 600,000 jobs in the manufacturing sector alone.
All the ad did is tell the truth. Truth IS a negative, for Republicans.
I can actually remember when JFK said, "Ich bin ein Berlier!"
Just a kid back then, but I can still remember it.
As the saying goes: "Getting old sure beats the alternative."
Me too. I was in grade school, but I remember.
