Yesterday I got the blog up, before I left for physical therapy. I have exercises to do, but they they are causing me more shoulder pain. I’m current with replies. Tomorrow appears routine.
Jig Zone Puzzle:
Today’s took me 4:12 (average 5:08). To do it, click here. How did you do?
Short Takes:
From MoveOn: Abraham Lincoln’s Most Shocking Prediction Is Something You’ll Never Guess
If he knows that the party he founded has become the instrument of his prediction, he is crying.
From NY Times: After their two-day meeting ended on Tuesday, leaders of the Group of 20 top economies managed to say some of the right things. Focusing on the euro-zone debt crisis — clearly, the largest threat to the global economy — they pledged to do more to spur growth, ensure financial stability and support a stronger European fiscal union.
The question now is whether these words will ever translate into effective action. If the past two years of the euro crisis is any guide, the likely answer is no. As recession and banking crises have enveloped Greece, Ireland, Portugal, Spain and Italy, the crisis response, led by Germany, has been dominated by a relentless insistence on self-defeating austerity and piecemeal rescue plans.
The result has been deeper recession, social unrest and political upheaval in Europe’s weaker economies and increasing mistrust between the strong and weak nations of Europe.
I hope Germany has the wisdom to dump Merkel and the right wing.
From USAToday: Obama ads slam Romney on taxes, outsourcing jobs
Excellent and accurate.

MoveOn — WOW! How insightful! How prophetic! Truly, Lincoln must be sobbing greatly and gnashing his teeth at the temerity of the current day Republican/Teabaggers.
The G20 — "The question now is whether these words will ever translate into effective action." — I really doubt it partly because you'll not get everyone moving in the same direction. Egos, among other things, will get in the way. Certainly France has shown some change possible with the election of François Hollande and an Assembly more in keeping with the left which favours the Keynesian philosophy. Germany too when Merkle took some hard hits in regional elections, but until she is gone, or willing to try other paths, Germany is still in the austerity mode. I wonder if Merkle will soften now that her buddy Sarkozy is out of office?
Obama Ad — Good ad. I went over to http://www.romneyeconomics.com to have a look see. Here is part of what I saw. Mitt Romney ran for governor of Massachusetts promising more jobs, less debt, and smaller government. Here’s what Massachusetts got instead: Jobs: 47th out of 50 states in job creation Taxes and Fees: Increased by $750 million per year Long-term debt: Increased more than $2.6 billion Outsourcing: State jobs outsourced overseas Manufacturing: Jobs declined at twice the national rate Romney Economics didn't work then, and won't work now. Each of the above in the site is a hotlink to additional information. Also the Boston Globe of 29/07/07 reported that Romney's economic record was the worst in the nation. Oh my, America, we have a problem!
Cartoon — Great! Don't get sick, but if you do, die fast!
I liked your http://www.barackobama.com/romney/economics/ Link. Thanks, that will come in handy. (Not that repubicans have ever been swayed by little things we liberals refer to as "FACTS" – but Independents will.)
Actually, that was on the last view of the video with the picture of Rmoney. I can't take credit for finding it, only for being observant! Good cat eyes! You should see what I do with flying bugs and mice!
Save birds for me. 🙂
Amen to that!
That's what it will take. Merkle has been the GOP's austerity butt buddy.
I'm with Nameless.
If he gets ahold of healthcare on a federal level, illness will become a felony.
The Romneycare Plan is exactly like the Ryan Eldercide Plan, isn't it? So, that is the most accurate depiction of Romneycare to date. Excellent.
Thanks!
4:25 It's up to Jerry to beat you. I'm not doing very well since my hospital stay. I wonder if they scrambled my brain while I was in there…
I would think that Lincoln has shed more than just a few tears over the years for how members of his party treats those less fortunate than themselves.
If the Germans have the sense of other Europeans, they will dump Merkel and elect a Progressive or Socialist.
Scary cartoon!
He usually does, anymore.
Me too.
Agree.
Thanks!
3:20 I got a bit behind on the puzzles…but I am off to a good start.
