Yesterday I wrote about Romney’s attendance at the Hate and Bondage Conference, put on by Republican supply-side pseudo-Christians.  Of course, several Republican leaders appeared there, including one who may be just as honest and reliable as Switch Hit Mitt is himself.

17gleeGlenn Beck says he’s poised to destroy “Glee” with his own conservative, virtuous version of the hit TV show.

The pundit and former Fox News host outlined his next move in the crusade to defend family values during the Faith & Freedom Coalition conference in Washington, D.C. Friday.

Beck said that he’s appalled by ‘Glee,’ which tackles issues like bullying, teen sexuality and LGBT issues, but he’s also in awe of its success.

"It’s horrifying some of the things that they’re teaching high schoolers," the talk radio host said. "But it’s brilliantly done. It’s produced, brilliantly. Its music, brilliant. Its acting, brilliant. Its cinematography, brilliant. All of it!"

Beck is cooking up a plan to create a counter-Glee — a show that’s just as well-produced and enjoyable to watch, but that pumps out conservative values to the youth of America, without any "stereotypical conservative Lee Greenwood music," he explained at the conference… [emphasis added]

Here’s video.

Personally, I think that Glee is an excellent show that handles real issues with sensitivity, tolerance, and compassion.  I envision Beck’s version as episodes about how wonderful it is for kids to hate __________, and bully them.  Every week he fills the blank with a new target.  On the other hand, Beck’s record regarding credibility would make him a fitting VP choice for Rmoney.

  1. It is just amazing to me that there is anyone out  there that can still take this clown show  seriously –

  2. My step-son say's this guy is worse than the group "insane clown posse"….

  3. The group "insane clown posse"….
Good Group by the way… 🙂

  4. Oh good grief, if he really tries to do this the results will be both pitiful and hilarious.  Producing propaganda for some stodgy establishment world-view in the form of light, fun pop culture just never works.  The Soviets tried it when they got mad at the infiltration of "decadent" Western rock music and suchlike.  Beck's efforts will surely be no less ham-handed.

  5. Insane Clown Posse sounds like exactly the kind of people Beck would want for his version of Glee.  They are (what TomCat would call) pseudo-Christians, and also dumber than a box of rocks — even really stupid rocks.

  6. I have never watched Glee but have heard nothing but good things about it.  Hell, if Glenn Beck thinks it is brilliantly done, then it MUST be GOOD!  But I am sure that his twisted knock-off will fail miserably.  I doubt it would be picked up by a high volume network, let alone last more than a few episodes.  It is time that various social issues were dealt with creatively and in a manner to which teens will relate.

  7. Are you ready for a ray of hope?  Here 'tis:  My precious, forty year old son with autism, has been a clown on Halloween for more years than I can remember.
This coming Halloween, a few days before another non-election election (reality check – election fraud and disenfranchisement abounds), my son's gonna be a 'Pretend Politician Clown' (confess, 'twas my idea).  His clown costume will have fake money attached all over it.  He does not grasp, but dearly loves everyone's laughter and thumbs up when hearing this – that includes people from all and no political parties. So…
Ray of hope – lots and lots of folks are aware of what's going on in today's world, and the U.S. of (greed and power) A.(ddiction).  Lots and lots we've gotta do (i.e. global revolution) to …UNDO THE COUP !!!

  8. I thought we were rid of this clown.
