Romney: Let Me Eat Cake!

Mitt Romney has demonstrated his inability to relate to Main Street Americans time and time again.  That is understandable, given his silver spoon.  He relates to Banksters and corporate criminals, because he was one.  But even in a hand-picked group of Pennsylvania Republicans, he not only could not relate, but also, was haughty and offensive about it.

19cookieMitt Romney’s mainframe continues to be unable to handle such basic functions like PANDER 3.0. Earlier this cycle, we watched as Romney was unable to answer a simple question about whether he enjoys NASCAR racing, while at a NASCAR race, and instead essentially changed the subject to the tremendous wealth of some of his friends. And as evidenced by Romney’s appearance at a Pittsburgh-area picnic on Tuesday, his human technicians have yet to fix the bug.

At an outdoor roundtable with some Pennsylvania voters, Romney was offered lemonade and cookies. You can imagine what fresh public-relations havoc this offering wrought. “I’m not sure about these cookies,” Romney said. “Did you make those cookies? You didn’t, did you? No. No. They came from the local 7-Eleven bakery or wherever.”

Soooooo grossssss. Ewwww. These cookies are, like, bought at a store where people can get gas right outside? That customers pump themselves? What are you, competing with the service class? Grosssss. Get this cookie away from me before it insists I claim it as a dependent… [emphasis added]

I suppose that the common foods Main Street Americans eat are not good enough for Switch Hit Mitt.  Neither are Main Street American Votes.

  1. How can anyone not see what a blatant PHONY this jerk really is?

  2. I saw that on video and couldn’t believe my ears at the pure audacity of it!  Open mouth and insert foot Mitt, all the way to the hip!  He could not, nor does he want to, relate to main street Americans, even Republican/Teabaggers.  Last time I heard that phrase, Marie Antoinette lost her head to the guillotine.  Well I think this time, it will be Rmoney who will lose his head, only it will be at the November 2012 presidential election.

  3. When I saw the video I was astounded at his lack of manners. If he didn’t like the way the cookies (from a well-respected, PA bakery), he should have just said “No, thank you.” No! He had to insult the hostess instead.

    Out of touch with reality!

  4. Speaking of cake, did you see that monstrous life-sized horse cake that “The Donald” had made for Ann Rmoney’s fundraiser cum B-Day bash at Trump Towers?

Oh, yeah – these are common folks just like you and me, all right.  Yes, indeed …

At least it proves that money can’t buy good taste!
  5. Money does not buy class ,  manners  ,  good taste ,  or the many other little things that go with  being well bred– Mitt is a mutt–not well trained or housebroke , most likely to old to be trained to have respect for others– he ‘s what he has been and will always be– just a bore ,

  6. He has been wealthy and above us all his entire life.  No way can he ever understand how the rest of us live.
