It was a bad day at Republican rock for Newt Gingrich. In spite of his foolproof plan to win in Tampa Bay, his Daddy GotRocks doesn’t see it that way. Newt’s billionaire is cutting him off, so Newt is effectively newtered. He has cut back his campaign staff.
Hey Newt, don’t wanna hurt your feelings or anything, but see that fat lady in the corner? She’s singing, buddy. Boy, is she singing.
Sheldon Adelson, the renown hotel and casino billionaire who has kept Newt Gingrich’s campaign alive all these months with donations totaling $15 million dollars, told an informal small group earlier in the week that the former Speaker’s campaign is “at the end of the line.”
This has been a pretty terrible, horrible, no good, very bad week for the Newtster. First came news that the press corps had abandoned ship, making the choice to no longer tag along his campaign stops. Then the bank account started looking a little dry, so the decision was made to cut staff, including his campaign manager:
The campaign is cutting one-third of its full-time staff and replacing its manager as part of an effort to sustain itself, campaign spokesman R.C. Hammond said. In addition, Gingrich will not travel as frequently to the remaining primary-contest states and will focus instead on communicating with voters via the Internet, videos and social media.
Have no fear, Ellis the Elephant is still going around with them as the Gingriches downshift back to book-signings and 50 dollars a pop photo ops…

In case you did not know, the person in the Ellis the Elephant suit who’s function is to hype Callista’s book is a campaign staffer paid for by anyone stupid enough to support Newter.
The only ray of good news for him is that he should still have no trouble staying ahead of Ron Paul.

He has had his time in the spotlight- now take a bow and exit stage far right-
Sheldon and all the rest of his contributors have only been paying for Newtster and Callista to make a tour of the country touting and selling their books.
THAT ought to teach that snobby billionaire Adelson to stop trying to buy off politicians! What next for Nut Gingrich bow—maybe yet another new wife? After all, the current one failed to get him elected President…
You know it’s bad when the captain of rats flees the sinking Newty ship! Too bad he wasn’t smart enough to see this as an eventuality in the first place — the stupidity of his investment. Well I suppose he still has the tax write-off!
Were I a campaign donor, I would be really, really pissed off to find that Newty had been using a campaign elephant, . . . er staffer, to flog his book and Calista’s too! To me, Newty is the height of arrogance, unethical behaviour and stupidity! I guess Newty didn’t learn much with his $399,999 fine by the House on ethics charges! And it would appear that Callista is yet another supercilious southern belle, part of the ME! ME! ME! genereation.
