The exodus of advertisers from Rush Limbaugh following his hateful misogynous remarks, spearheading the Republican War on Women, has been in the news for several days. Limbarf has shrugged it off, claiming to have advertisers waiting in the wings to take their place. He did. In a perfect example of Republican family values, the company he picked could not be a bigger insult to women.
Some progressives may dare to dream that the day is coming when Rush Limbaugh’s bray no longer cranks out of every wavelength orifice in the American radio dial. In the wake of his attacks on Sandra Fluke, blue chip advertisers like Netflix, Allstate, John Deere and Capital One are either dropping him as fast as they can, or publicly saying their ads on his show have been “mistakes.”
But, the formerly oxycontin-addicted, thrice-married broadcaster is only now finding his true friends. One businessman eager to replace those who cut and run is Brandon Wade, the founder of a website called SeekingArrangements.com that pairs college girls needing money (Sugar Babies) with older men (Sugar Daddies) needing, well, “an arrangement.”
Yesterday, the dating site offered to start buying 30 and 60-second spots on Rush’s show. If approved, the ads will run next month.
In a plot twist Stephen Colbert’s writers might have dreamed up on a slow news day, Wade hailed the doughy bellower as a model for guys who like ‘em young, hot and financially needy.
“Rush Limbaugh, who married a blonde bombshell half his age, is a model Sugar Daddy,” the company announced. “The moniker of a Sugar Daddy is that of an older, successful, wealthy man romantically involved with a younger, beautiful woman, much like the relationship Rush shares with his much younger wife, Lauryn Rogers.”… [emphasis added]

Limbaugh has gone full circle from shaming wholesome women he has accused of acting like sluts to pimping out women who actually are acting immorally. How could he objectify women more than this? When it comes to Republican family values, they are something to be imposed on everyone else, but seldom required of or followed by Republican leaders like Limbarf.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
Now, seeing as the Republican/Teabaggers hold family values and Biblical teachings so close, I thought I’d see how Limbarf, the defacto leader of the GOP, lived up to the 10 Commandments from the Hebrew Scriptures and the all inclusive 2 commandments from the Christian Scriptures.
In my mind, the 2 commandments from the Christian Scriptures supercede the 10 from the Hebrew Scriptures because if you follow the two, you cannot commit offenses of the ten.
Just looking forward to the day when Limbaugh does the limbo and falls flat on his head and ass knocking himself out! Limbaugh, you are an obscenity.
Can’t add a thing– well written Lynn!!
Thanks Phyllis! I think this has struck a chord with a few people both here and on Care2.
Well said, Lynn, and right on. He is particularly vulnerable on point i, as he has built his entire career on bearing false witness. I fear that I would be guilty of not being able to love my neighbor if that neighbor happened to be him. Afraid I’d be thinking more in terms of higher fences, perimeter interdiction (i.e. land mines, interlocking fields of fire, etc) or finding somewhere else to live.
Always enjoy your comments.
Thanks John. I hate to break it to you, but your neighbour in the context of the 2 great commandments is everybody in the world, not just your literal neighbour. Having said that, you can still respect a human being, in this case Limbaugh, as a human being (the right to breathe, eat etc), but you don’t have to like his actions. In fact you can detest his actions. I struggle with this one all the time. When I see people like Limbaugh, I wonder what God was thinking because of all the despair and hate he spews. Personally, if he ended up as my literal neighbour, I’d move!
Lynn, I think Limbarf thinks that c. refers to his name. Excellent comment!
Piss on both Limbarf and Brandon WEIRD!
That’s polluting piss!
The Puerto Plata rent boys are all breathing a sigh of relief, as all the noise keeps their tormentor from fueling up his Gustream and going on the prowl.
You’re probably right!
