Today I would not want to be the the Fuhrer of the Totalitarian Corporate Plutocracy of Fitzwalkerstan, formerly Wisconsin.  As Scott Walker was in New York sucking up to a known corporate criminal, the heroic oppressed people turned on over one million signatures guaranteeing a recall election to oust Walker and other Republican tyrants this summer.

18recallDemocrats and organizers filed petitions Tuesday afternoon with more than a million signatures as they sought to force a recall election against Gov. Scott Walker – a massive number that seems to cement a historic recall election against him for later this year.

It would mark the first such gubernatorial recall in state history and would be only the third gubernatorial recall election in U.S. history. Organizers Tuesday also handed in 845,000 signatures against Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch as well as petitions against four GOP state senators including Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald of Juneau.

The sheer number of signatures being filed against Walker – nearly as many as the total votes cast for the governor in November 2010 and almost twice as many as those needed to trigger a recall election – ensure the election will be held, said officials with the state Democratic Party and United Wisconsin, the group that launched the Walker recall.

"It is beyond legal challenge," said Ryan Lawler, vice chairman of United Wisconsin.

The filing marks a milestone following Walker’s controversial legislation ending most union bargaining for public workers… [emphasis added]

Rachel Maddow provided more details, interviewed state Senator Jon Erpenbach, and extended the story into overcoming Republican tyranny in other states.

Again and again I see people making the foolish claim that the two political parties are alike.  Let them ask the people of Fitzwalkerstan, who are struggling to take back their state from a Republican reign.

  1. Congratulations to the citizens of Wisconsin, formerly known as Fitzwalkerstan, for collecting 1.9 million signatyres for the recall of Republican/Teabagger Governor Scott Walker, the Republican/Teabagger Lt Governor Rebecca Kleefisch, and 4 Republican/Teabagger state senators including the Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald.  WOW!!!!!

This is monumental with so many people going down at once.  Let this be a lesson to other Republican/Teabagger state governments that change is possible, even when you arrogantly think you are invinsible.  Let this also be a lesson to voters.  When you screw up like so many did when they put Republican/Teabaggers into office in 2010, with hardwork, organisation and dedication, it is possible to change things.

And while all these signatures were being walked into the Government Accountability Office, where was Scott Walker?  In New York at a fund raiser hosted by the former AIG boss and corporate criminal, Maurice Greenberg.  Was he worried?  Didn’t appear to give a rat’s ass about the work of the state or the people of Wisconsin, formerly known as Fitzwalkerstan, only his upcoming campaign to take back the Governor’s chair.  What did he say?  “. . . a chance to be elected twice in one term. . . .”  May Scott Walker and his minions be consigned to the annals of history never to be seen or heard of again!

  2. Walker and the others think that the Koch money will keep them safe.

  3. We must remember tho– this is another step to go- the election itself , As commentators last night remarked the estimate the “power bloc” will be spending is in excess of $100 M to defeat the recall–that is going to take continued effort and momentum to defeat—

The first big step was  fantastic– takes another  big one to victory –!!  So Onward !!

  4. Look at the faces of those people with the boxes–they’re EMPOWERED!

Oh…and, by the way, RACHEL MADDOW ROCKS!

  5. The ONE MILLION PLUS signatures weighed in at over 3,300 pounds!  Talk about getting hit by a ton of bricks.  But I guess this is what happens when a weasel meets a Badger.
