Yesterday my groceries came a little after 10 AM and I had them unpacked and put away a little before 2 PM. That wore me out. I didn’t sleep well again. At present, Oregon humidity is way up, and I just feel sticky. I am current on replies. Today, I go to my denturist for the final impressions, and I should have my teeth within two weeks.
Jig Zone Puzzle:
Today it took me 4:26 (4:55 average). To do it, click here. How did you do?
Short Takes:
From CNN: U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann ended any doubt that she is running for president, saying during Monday night’s CNN GOP presidential debate that she has filed for the 2012 race.
Warning! Batshit alert! Take cover!
From Columbia Tribune: In a unanimous ruling, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that conflict-of-interest laws for legislators at both the state and local levels do not deprive legislators of their First Amendment rights.
The decision overturns a ruling from a Nevada high court regarding a state law that requires legislators to recuse themselves from voting on issues in which they could be “materially affected” by the outcome. The case began when Michael Carrigan, a city councilman from Sparks City, Nev., took a vote on a bill that would authorize the development of a new casino in his ward. Nevada’s ethics authority found that Carrigan’s vote constituted a conflict of interest, and he filed a lawsuit against the entity, saying that it had tread on his First Amendment rights.
How ironic! While this is the correct decision, they continue to ignore that Teabag Thomas has conflicts of interest on a wide range of issues.
From Think Progress: House Republican Budget Confirms That Life Begins At Conception And Ends At Birth.
How descriptive of Republican Policy!

I love it: House Republican Budget Confirms That Life Begins At Conception And Ends At Birth.
What an apt description!
Not bad, Patty.
Isn’t it, though?
Oh what a shame for batshit Bachmann that she will lose the nom and probably her seat too. Bummer.
Well, finally the SCOTUS did something right for a change.
WTF does the House Committee on the Budget have to do with abortion? And who the fuck cares? That belongs under the Health and Welfare Committee and I doubt they could even get that our of committee. Dumasses.
Great cartoon!
Lisa, that depends on how long she stays in.
Yes they did. 😯
Amen.
Thanks! They are becoming a brain drain.
7:36 Not bad! (for me)
The good news about batshit is, It piles up in one place, in a dark cave somewhere! (Bachmann)
Improving!
I wish she’d stay in the cave!
Just a heads up on two big and interesting legal developments:

California Bankruptcy Court Holds, In an Opinion Signed by 20 of the Its 25 Judges, that the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) Is Unconstitutional

A Federal Grand Jury Begins an Investigation Into War Crimes and Torture at Abu Ghraib, Plus Other Alleged CIA Abuses

(Too little and evidence-wise probably too late – but at least it’s something)
ADDENDUM:
Remember that Rand Paul Goon who stomped on the head of a female MoveOn protester, and then had the balls to demand that SHE apologize to him?
Ain’t gonna happen … not now, not ever! That fascist a$$hole finally got his day in court, and he went with an Alford Guilty Plea (not an overt admission – but agrees that the prosecution had enough evidence to convict him) – and gets probation.

The first two are wonderful. On the third, he should do time.
3:39 I love me them doggies! I’m 51 out of 165 (309).
Today could well be another food one for you.
