Yesterday unpacking and storing my groceries took several hours, but after my teeth are pulled, I’ll have a variety of foods to eat.  The first few days will be hardest.  I remain current on replies.  Today I have a doctor’s appointment.  No worries.  It’s routine.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today it took me 3:55 (average 4:33).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From NY Times: Days after formally announcing his candidacy for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination, Newt Gingrich on Sunday sharply criticized a plan by House Republicans that would drastically overhaul Medicare, the federal health care program for retirees.

I call bullshit!  Newt has been trying to do away with Social Security and Medicare for a long time.  He is only saying this because of how America reacted to the Republican plan formulated by Ryan.

From Chicago Tribune: Rahm Emanuel will be sworn in as Chicago’s 46th mayor today.

Poor Chicago!

From Washington Post: Groundbreaking Chinese artist Ai Weiwei appeared healthy but tense during his first meeting with family since he was detained more than a month ago, and authorities still haven’t explained why he was seized, his wife said Monday.

Hillary Clinton should object strongly to the treatment of Ai Weiwei.

To celebrate Monday, make a Teabagger do your job. (This is not intended to be a factual statement.)

  1. 3:37 Finally! 🙂 I got off of 44. I am now 45 out of 136 (331).

  2. Make sure you get some good drugs and ice, ice, ice. Cold alcoholic beverages are encouraged after getting your teeth pulled.

He did it on Twitter – and you know he can’t even operate a cell phone. But at least he came out on the right side of Medicare. And that’s the only good thing I’ll ever say about that asshole. 🙄

Ugh. I don’t even want to think about what he’s going to do with our fine city, corrupt as it is. At least it works; after Rahm is done with it, who knows what kind of f’ed up mess he’ll leave.

Agreed. Hillary – get on it!

Hahahahaha! It certainly won’t be his first or second and probably not his third, because he’s already been married a few years. He’s probably already cheating on her! 🙄

    • Vicodin 5, but I don’t drink. 🙂

      He’s toast.

      Condolences.

      Amen!

Hell, he’s probably cheating on his mistress.

  3. Newt on MTP yesterday:
    • Gingrich said replacing Medicare with a voucher system was too “radical” an approach.
    • “I don’t think right-wing social engineering is any more desirable than left-wing social engineering.”
    • Gingrich called Ryan’s plan “too big a jump” for the country.
    • “I don’t think imposing radical change from the right or the left is a very good way for a free society to operate.”

Newt, still flipping and a-flopping, today:
“The things I said yesterday on Meet the Press were NOT intended to be factual statements.”
