Yesterday was Mothers Day. I feel pleased that I was able to join the celebration of others, even though it is a difficult day for me. I am current on replies and today Iβll be busy here catching up on volunteer work and paperwork.
Jig Zone Puzzle:
Today it took me 3:37 (average 5:11). To do it, click here. How did you do?
Short Takes:
From Washington Post: George Allen and Timothy M. Kaine are locked in a dead heat 18 months from Election Day, according to a new Washington Post poll, suggesting that the U.S. Senate race between the Virginia titans may live up to its billing as one of the most competitive contests in the nation.
This is sad. We have a lackluster candidate up against Macaca Man, a proven Republican racist.
From The Sun-Sentinel: Democrats are taking their complaints about Republican policies to the streets for another round of "Awake the State" rallies on Tuesday. This time they’re calling the events "Awake Again."
"While politicians paid lip service to improving the job climate in Florida, at the end of the day, all they did this year was make it harder for our state to recruit quality workers and unfairly taxes the middle class and public employees while handing out huge tax breaks to corporations," said Franco Ripple, co-organizer of the Broward rally.
Go Florida! Hit the streets and give them a piece of your mind!
From Crooks and Liars: Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani says President Barack Obama’s success at taking out Osama bin Laden hasn’t deterred him from running for president.
Rudy 911 was the joke of Campaign 2008. He may be the class of Republicans running in 2012.
Cartoon:
If youβre not a Republican, celebrate. (This was intended to be a factual statement.)

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
TC and to everyone who’s lost their mother’s, I’m sorry you had a bad day. But mine was fantastic.
Not that I was a repub to win, but Timothy Kaine did such a shitty job at DNC Chair, I’d like to see him lose. At least now we know where he’s been spending all his time. I say revoke his pay for DNC Chair. π‘
Go Florida! There’s nothing but old people there, and they do go to townhalls and rallies. Let them pull the Dem lever this time.
Rudy did a decent job at 9/11, but now he has about 3 supporters. Good luck with that Rudy. π―
Great cartoon and I’m not a Repub! Double yeah for me! π π
Lisa, I deleted the duplicate for you. I’m happy you had a great day. Thanks.
I have no love lost for Kaine, but considering his opponent, I have to. support him.
Amen to that!
The entire Republican field is pathetic.
Thanks and Yea!!
This is kind of interesting, the actual floorplans of Osama bin Laden’s three-story, eight-bedroom house as submitted to local authorities can be found at the link below (just click on the picture to enlarge them). And from that link:
http://blogs.independent.co.uk/2011/05/06/the-actuals-plan-for-bin-ladens-pucca-house/
Let’s see what we learned here …
* Osama bin Laden was a religious fanatic
* Rich enough to live in a huge house reportedly costing $1 million
* Contemptuous of government authority to the point that he violates local ordinances
* So despises government taxes that he doesn’t even bother to pay them
Sounds like bin Laden was a Republican
He must have been a Republican, Nameless. The evidence is that, by examining the floor plan, the house has so many bathrooms, he was indubitably full of shit.
Whoops. Looks like my comment didn’t make it. Maybe I forgot to hit the send button. Anyway, my time was over 4 minutes. I’m now 44 out of 129 (341).
This ois the only one I saw, Jerry. Another tough one today.
