Yesterday, I took deep dives into all the comments plugins WordPress has to offer, and made a short list of five. I sent out an email on them, hoping someone will know more about one or more of them than I could find.  If you didn’t get one, that means I don’t have your email address. that can be fixed. Also, I don’t usually post three short takes from the same source, but I couldn’t find any of them quickly elsewhere, and they are all noteworthy. Many news sources seem to be taking a day off, and I was tied up looking at plugins.

Short Takes

Crooks and Liars – Alex Jones Is Done With ‘Completely Ignorant’ Donald Trump
Quote – Candace Owens is doing damage control after “so many donors and supporters” are upset over Trump’s vaccine comments. She says he is old, isn’t tech savvy, doesn’t keep up with or read obscure internet conspiracies, and only follows the main stream media so doesn’t have the facts.
Click through if you will. The headline makes this sound like good news. But it isn’t. It’s the worst possible news. They are now embedded so deep, they will take the BS over Trump** now. Any resonably competent leader who tells tham what they wany to hear can make them do whatever he (and, yes, it will be a “he”) wants. We are in more danger than ever.

Crooks and Liars – Did Madison Cawthorn Marry A Russian Honeypot?
Quote – Grant Stern on Twitter said, “Madison Cawthorn’s divorce just went from boring information to national security concern in about 77 seconds of interview time with the Daily Caller. “This does not sound a normal meet-cute story whatsoever. Very few of these stories involving Russia are.”
Click through for evidence. This would explain the divorce, too. I know it’s serious, but – lots of Congressfolk are russian assets. Only one married his handler. How dumb is that!

Crooks and Liars – Reporter Smacks Chuck Todd For Racist Framing Of CRT
Quote – “Well, I think you should think just a little bit about your framing,” Hannah-Jones replied. “You said ‘parents’ and then you said ‘parents of color.'” “White parents and parents of color,” Todd interrupted. “No. Fair point. As a matter of fact, white parents are representing fewer than half of all public school parents,” Hannah-Jones noted. “And yet, they have an outsized voice in this debate.”
Click through for a little context – not that it;s necessarily needed. And it did not come a millisecond too soon.

  1. Sure do appreciate all that you are doing, in being informational and sharing the Word Press comments plug-ins. Thank you!
    Cartoon: Great news!
C&L: Wow! Unreal. They’re finally mad with trump?  They are still living/listening/fighting to TOT’s obscure world. Yes, the danger is right there and around the corner(s).
C&L: Now this is scary. A compromised congressman. ugh!
    FFT: AMEN!
THIS JUST IN: TJI  “Members of Congress investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol riot believe that Rick Perry wrote a text message encouraging the Trump administration to direct state legislatures to ignore 2020 election results and deliver their state’s electoral votes to Trump.” ~ Medlin Mekelburg ~
2, “The GOP schism over Trump’s get vaccinated comment is but a taste of how broken their party is. From false election fraud claims to Jan 6 truthers to satanic pedophile QAnon conspiracies, this is a party in deep disarray and dysfunction. We must defeat it to keep our Republic.. ” George Takei ~
    3. “Ending warm wishes to all families coming together to light the Kinara in celebration of Kwanzaa. May you have a happy and healthy new year.” ~ DepSecState Wendy Sherman ~
    4. “Davyon Johnson, an 11-year-old boy from Oklahoma, is being honored by his community after saving two lives in one day.” ~ ABC News ~
    5. “Court has set a May 2022 trial in the high-profile US Capitol case of Kevin Seefried of Delaware, who is accused of carrying Confederate flag thru Capitol.” ~ Scott MacFarlane ~

    • Hey, I appreciate everyone’s patience and all input/feedback. My only alternative to doing this would be to give up – and I won’t do that.

TJI #1 – Yeah – it was sent from his phone. He claims he didn’t send it. But Republicans lie like the rest of us breathe.
TJI #2 – Dysfunction, definitely. But as I understand the term “disarray,” there’s not ehough of that to suit me. At least, when the media talk about “Democrats in disarray,” they mean we have differeing opinions. Republicans are in solid array on their lies.
TJI #3 – Can you believe Marjorie Taylor Greene called Kwanzaa a “fake religion”? In the first place,, it’s not a religion, it’s a holiday. Is Labor Day a religion? In the second place, it may be new-ish, but it’s not fake. It’s exponentially more genuine thatn she is.
TJI #4 – Great minds. This story should be getting a lot more press than it has been.
TJI #5 – Well, it all helps.

  2. UPDATE
Making some progress.  I bought a cheapo HP laptop at Micro Center (really impressed w/ that place).
But sadly I didn’t pay enough attention to the ports.  It’s got two USB ports and one USB-C (super-fast) port – but no ethernet port.
I don’t have Wi-Fi (but will w/ the new PC & laptop), so I went to Best Buy to get a USB-C to Ethernet adapter – but they either don’t carry them (doubtful) or they were out.  The kid that waited on me was an absolute IDIOT and just texted on his phone the entire time he stood by me while I looked.  “Guess we don’t have any.”
So I’ll have to go back to Micro Center to get one.  I’m on the eastern edge of the Metro and it’s on the west side – another 45-minute one-way drive.
The good news I’ll be able to get all my CMEs earned by the deadline (12/31/21), pay my Missouri Personal & Real Property taxes and take my IRA RMD before the end of the year … on MY own computer, and not at the library.
(Unless I run into another bump in the road.)

    • If you added up alll the library trips, it might even com to an hour and a half … depending.  I had to get one of those converters once – got a desktop – my ethernet [port died and even my wizard couldn’t get the ‘puter to hook up to WiFi (which was fine with me – I still don’t really trust it.  They were about $15 then – probably $20 or $25 now.  But it should work just fine.  (I got mine so long ago I had to install the driver before plugging it in.)

    • Should you look for a laptop after this cheapo, remember that you’ll find none with an ethernet connection, they all have USB and probably a HDMI port now, Nameless.

PCs might still have them though, but the whole idea of a laptop or tablet is that you can use it anywhere in and around the house with WiFi instead of trailing a cable around.

  3. Comment from Mitch –

‘Toon: Originally done without the phrase, “One nation under God.”C&L #1: So, Dumpness is a problem because he does NOT check out the conspiracy theories!  “Those who can make you believe absurdities, can make you commit atrocities.”  Voltaire
#2:  More proof that degrees from Harvard can be good for asswipe!
#3: I have long thought that the “Make my child feel guilty” gambit is a BS excuse.  I’m sure that IF crt, or any racial history were to be taught in grade schools, it could be explained that the kids, not even born until recently, have no responsibility for the country’s history.
FFT: I expect it is not the Black kids who are supposed to be unable to learn about the country’s bigoted past, indeed.living it in the present.
    Mitch

    • The “one nation was, I think, there from the beginning – if not, it was added in the oughts or teens.  “Under God” was added at just about the time Congress approved it (I was 8 or 9 and hated it from that moment oit was added.  I was young, but old enough to have been told and grasped that church-state incest was a bad idea.

  4. You sure have been doing your researching regarding the issues Politics Plus is experiencing right now. I truly appreciate all that you’ve done and will continue doing. I never pictured you as one to ever give in or give up!
    Cartoon: Wonderful day to remember.
C&L1: Insane. He never was up on anything. Regarding supporters of tRump are upset with him…oh my. tRump’s not stupid when it comes to taking care of himself by getting the vaccine booster to be protected. He’s been one to make sure of taking care of himself. It’s too bad he wasn’t reflecting those feelings a year ago. Instead, he called it fake news and ignored the warnings which ended up killing so many innocent ones.
C&L2: Sounds to me that he has some explaining to do.
C&L3: The article wouldn’t load properly it froze my laptop.
Food for Thought: Agree with the statement 100%.
    Take care. Thanks Joanne

  5. Don’t overwork yourself, Joanne. And please don’t apologise when you feel you haven’t “produced” enough to your own very high standards. You do far more than anyone here could possibly ask; make sure you’ve got some time left for yourself too. If the news is slow and sparse, so be it on PP too.

C&L #1: Without his White House staff, there’s no one to point TFG towards new conspiracies and he is left to his own devices. which aren’t much to speak off, as we all know. More and more it is starting to look like TFG will not be able to run in 2024 but there are already some Trump clones warming up on the sidelines. They are indeed far more capable than Trump now is in manipulating the base. We can only hope that they, and TFG himself, have each other by the throat and divide the base and its votes among them.

C&L #2:Will someone look into Madison Cawthorn’s medical history, please? His accident seems to have him hooked on painkillers, compromising what little intelligence he has. His story on how he met his wife was one long string of compromising meetings with Russian agents, making it likely she is one too. Again, Russia did a good job of creating chaos in the US, this time right in the House.

C&L #3: She sure is a good listener and apparently white men’s habits are hard to break.

FFT: No one but Norman Rockwell could have delivered such a clear picture of an important phase in history. It should be right in that textbook teaching all American children true history. A history that shouldn’t make children feel guilty over a past they were not a part of but just a slight touch of shame for what happened and the conviction that they won’t let that happen again on their watch.
