Yesterday was fairly quiet. I organized my morning meds for the next two weeks (which I should have done Saturday … but that’s why I keep an extra) and I’ll organize the evening meds today (which I should have done Saturday, but that’s why I keep two extras.)

Short Takes –
PoliticusUSA – Sidney Powell Implicates Kevin McCarthy, Steve Scalise, and Justice Alito In Plot To Overturn The Election
Quote – Sidney Powell is not a reliable narrator, but her point, if true, is that the purpose of the 1/6 attack on the Capitol was to buy time so that Justice Alito could intervene and block the certification of the election.
Click through for actual wording. Isn’t this … interesting.Β And then there’s this.
Crooks and Liars – Biden White House Won’t Assert Executive Privilege To Help Donald Trump
Quote – This was the greatest threat to our democracy since the Civil War and we need answers. Let’s see where this goes….with the subpoenas flying fast, I suspect we will get our answers about Executive Privilege pretty quickly, especially when they start wanting to talk to Donald Trump and his kids directly.
Click through for what details exist. IANAL, but those who are point out that (a) he can claim executive privilege regarding what happened during his administration, and (b) though he can claim it, it is not automatic, as some things are not subject to it, and that is not his decision to make.
AP News – In redistricting, big say for big cities in DC power balance
Quote – Robust growth in the liberal strongholds of New York and metropolitan Chicago are poised to give Democrats an edge as their political maps are redrawn to adjust for changes in population over the past decade. While both New York and Illinois are losing congressional seats, their urban booms mean the newly drawn districts are likely to favor Democrats, adding to the partyβs national total and making up for probable losses elsewhere.
Click through for more information. I certainly hope this analysis is on point. (I have hopes for my state as well, but those are unrelted to this.)

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
Sounds like you’re doing good re: organizing your meds.
Cartoon: I found this to be a big LOL as I can’t stand him, nor what he represents. The aluminum hat fits him perfectly.
Politicususa: Sneaky snakes! Glad that they were found out. Every stinkin’ one of them should be imprisoned.
C&L: YAY!! TOT and his cronies need to be investigated to the max.
FFT: ugh! Horrible!
This just in: TJI “Biden finally spoke up about the horrendous mistreatment of Haitians at the border. This admin owes us answers as to how & when it will stop the deportations & allow Haitians their legal right topetition for entry into the U.S. We cannot sweep this under the rug! We want action!” ~ Rep. Maxine Waters ~
2. “Jen Psaki makes it official. Biden will not block Trump-related documents from the 1/6 Committee. She goes on to say that the Biden administration is working with the 1/6 investigations.” ~ Sarah Reese Jones ~
3. “The Biden-Harris administration has made so much progress during the past eight months, and now we face a critical moment. We have the tools, the plan, and we have to finish the job together as a nation. Do your part: Get vaccinated.” ~ The Democrats ~
4. “Asked about running against @TedCruz again, @BetoORourke says “the fight in front of us right now” involves @GregAbbott_TX and his record. “This is what we need to be focused on right now.” ~ Beto O’Rourke ~
5. “Donald, maybe you should just go for long walks in the woods. It helped Hillary get over it.” ~ George Takei ~
TJI #1 – The only excuse I can think of for not wanting to allow asylum seekers in immediately and giving them the run of the place is not wanting them to catch CoViD … and in Texas (and Florida and other southern states) that is a genuine possibility. The obvious alternative, quarantine, has plenty of potential for abuse also, especially since our infrastructure is in the condition it is. And I definitely think there are better people than the current DHS to be working on it. In fact, Maxine would be one of those beter people.
TJI #2 – Yup.
TJI #3 – Those who aren’t vaccinated already will not listen to this messenger (and the messenger can be more important than the message.) In this case I also don’t think they would listen to this message coming from anyone.
TJI #4 – Accurate analysis.
TJI #5 – That would leave a mark – if he had any self-awarenwss (he doesn’t).
TJI #2 – I hope the Biden administrations bends over backwards in its efforts to help the 1/6/21 Select Committee.
TJI #3 – In the not too distant future I predict the stupidity of people refusing safe, effective vaccinations against a life-threatening disease will be one of the hardest things to figure out the “WHY?”.
TJI #5 “Donald, maybe you should just go for long walks in the woods …” and NEVER come back!
I got my appointment for the Pfizer booster tomorrow morning! YIPPEE!!!
Sidney Powell Implicates Kevin McCarthy, Steve Scalise, and Justice Alito In Plot To Overturn The Election
This is very, very disturbing.
But also concerning from the article: “Sidney Powell is not a reliable narrator.”
While certainly a believable scenario, Powell (like Giuliani, Lindell, Flynn, McCarthy, etc.) does NOT have a very credible track record when it comes to telling the truth.
Biden White House Won’t Assert Executive Privilege To Help Donald Trump
Nor should he!
In redistricting, big say for big cities in DC power balance
GREAT!
Got my COVID booster shot yesterday…no one (or a line) was at Walgreens.
Under 15 minutes. No reaction(s) either.
Hope that your appt. goes well, Nameless.
There is one fact which might (but only might) give some credence to her mention of ALito, and that is that, in December, he moved up by one day a filing deadline on an emergency appeal by TOT. That sounds merely procedural to me and probably to most of us, but it was enough to send up a red flag for Norm Ornstein, whose job is studying these things.
Good luck with yours, Nameless.
I got my Covid-19 booster at CVS this afternoon at 5:00 PM. No reactions for me either. Will see how I’m doing in the morning.
Organizing meds is an essential and life-saving skill.
Cartoon: This one was probably made a long, long time ago when we thought he was just stupid. Now we know what a nasty piece of π© Cruz really is.
PUSA: Let’s not fall into the conspiracy trap ourselves. This all seems very unlikely.
C&L: It’s good to see that Biden doesn’t play Trump games and won’t allow him to abuse every rule and law to keep himself from being duly prosecuted.
AP: The imperfect system is in need of a good overhaul.
FFT: I can’t tell the difference between one group of Talibangelists and the other.
Yes, I’m working from 2013 (just because it’s convenient to stay in the same year.) Not much has changed. There are some I need to replace. But only 5 or 6 in September, and it looks like only 3 in October.
Cartoon: I like others here can’t stand this creep. Especially since he’s became one of tRumpy’s gangsters.
PoliticusUSA: Sure makes you wonder about the ones she names here; tRump’s precious buddies. If true. hope they enjoy sharing cells.
C&L: Good for President Biden. tRump doesn’t deserve sh*t.
AP: Great news, they definitely need it done.
Food for Thought: Stinking bas*ards.
Nice that you have your weekly medications all well organized for the next two weeks.
Take care. Thanks Joanne
