Quote – “The majority of this three-judge panel now concludes that the evidence presented to the Court, when viewed in the totality of circumstances, points to the conclusion that S.B. 824 was enacted in part for a discriminatory purpose and would not have been enacted in its current form but for its tendency to discriminate against African American voters,” the court concluded… “[T]his Court permanently enjoins the law in full,” the judges noted.

The Guardian – Jared Polis becomes first sitting governor to marry in same-sex wedding

TJI #2 – I shold bloody hope so. I should bloody hope there was a lot of Law School 101 discussions (although he completely ignored every one.)
TJI #3 – She can do that because she is vaccinated (and, yes, I do realize, also because she is the Speaker.)

Yeah – I saw it. But it’s only for Fox & Chrome browsers, and I’m as MS Edge user.

Very strange.
Edge ight have something. I’ve only dipped my toes into using it, (and I’ve never been fond of add-ons), but it looks like it offers a lot. (And I suspect its help desk or whatever they call it would want to hear about this, even if it makes them unhappy.)
I’ve had comments disappear on me too when I was sure I had published them. It usually had a picture in it, perhaps under copy rights, so I thought it was because of diligent editing by TomCat. I have no explanation for it now.
I can testify that TomCat would have deleted the picture only (not the comment), would hve explained why, and would have apologized for having to do so. I haveno clue either.

L&C: Bravo to the North Carolina court for issuing permanent junction against S B 824. I honestly hope other states do the same. Sick of seeing them, especially the rotten R’s/Goppies trying to bring any type of discriminatory/racial actions against anyone.
Reuters: Glad it didn’t turn out as bad as they thought it was going to be. Hopefully tRump and his buddies got the message that he’s no longer important, that he’s now old news.

Worthy collection Joanne. I like the good news furthering inclusion duo alot–a sense of the solidarity for justice. And then amid that good news sandwich:
I enjoyed hearing about how they invented a paranoid fantasy to keep people away from the rally/protest as why so small. Not sure it would ever have been a draw without big name draws as speakers or something.
Thanks. I believe the girl is their daughter, Cora. Some of the first correspondence I ever got from him was about him taking her to Women’s Marches when she was two and three. That’s clearly some years ago.

L&C: Though these “permanent” court decisions only last until the next higher court abolishes them, it is very good news indeed. I hope SCOTUS won’t do a quicky on this one.
Reuters: What a fiasco for TFG; it looks like there almost. were more police officers to guard the capitol than demonstrators. Another QAnon prophecy down the drain. But that won’t stop them from trying again, preferably when Congress is in session; not until TFG is indicted for his role in 6/1.
