Sorry I’m so late. I was on hold for about 2 hours and could only do a few things – posting a thread was not one of them.

A very brief excerpt from the new video footage showed today. TC will probably have more tomorrow.

The Lincoln Project

Really American with Glenn Kirschner

Norway responds to the Will Ferrell superbowl ad (which if you missied it is here) https://youtu.be/y4U5nit_WkY

John Fugelsang “Insurrection Dysfunction”

Orange Acres – a new YouTube venture by John Di Domenico – Episode ! (yes, brace yourself, there are more)

Beau – Speaking as a veteran, I’m not sure recruiting needs to change all that much. My experience with enlisted people is that the ones who enlist for the GI Bill, to get an education, already have the curiosity and the attitude which leads to critical thinking. More so, in fact, than many young officers straight from college who never experienced impediments to going through that track (the naïvete of second lieutenants is proverbial in fact, and I assume that’s also true of ensigns.) Many enlisted people who joined for college are actually brilliant. Of course a program where they could turn it into a retention tool – get the education after a 3 or 4 year enlistment, then return for an additional 4 or six year commitment – that couldn’t hurt.

  1. I’ve tried to view this video twice, now, and have not been able to do so.
LP: They all need to see some serious legal consequences!
RA: There have been 2 ex-pat Aussies working to screw over the barely viable American mind: Murdoch, and Ken Ham!
Norway: Of course, it’s GM, who has still never paid the racer Chevrolet for the use of his name; from over 100 years ago.
ID: Boy, he really gets into Rudy’s little head, does he not?
    OA: Funny!
Beau: Interesting, but, and I may be very off base, it seems to me that one of the things the military wants in recruits, in troops, are people who will blindly follow orders, rather than parse an order to attack, or the strategy of an attack, for example, and then debate upon it.  I expect  that except for the officer corps, “We don’t pay you to think” is the order of the day.

    • The security video works fine for me.  Have you tried “view on YouTube”?  I got it through The Hill, but I went to YouTube from there so I don’t think that would help.

  2. I hope you got the correct script and medication now, Joanne. Remember, health comes before video clips.

TH: Dems did a really good job, didn’t they.

LP: There’s nothing to add to videos like these. They just need to be seen by more people.

RA: That’s the trouble, isn’t it? Faux News falters and other right-wing media take its place, continuing poisoning American minds. The only thing for it is the billionaires that are behind these media to go bust.

UiA: Delicious!333333 Norway, now there’s a country whose socialistic politics could be an inspiration. Norway is now considered the richest country in the world and their money comes from taxes on operating companies, exploration license fees, dividends from the partly state-owned Statoil, and profits from the state’s ‘Direct Financial Interest’ in some fields. Note that Statoil is pumping up fossil fuels (gas and oil) from the richest North Sea fields. The Norwegians are clever enough to see that fossil fuels are a dead-end street and for their electricity are now completely relying on renewable energy. Spreading their country’s wealth among all of their inhabitants has kept everyone happy.

JF: Trump and his Merry Men still give rise to a lot of very funny comedy. So we can still laugh where we should cry.

JDD: I take that back, I couldn’t watch more than 2 minutes of this comedy. Perhaps it got better in the last 10 minutes, but I rather spend those minutes on Beau.

Beau: You know I’m not enamoured by anything military but I’m a little more comfortable with a military consisting Powel’s bilingual critical thinkers than with McNamara’s bunch. The problem the military is running into is the same the whole US is running into; Republicans have been dumbing down America for decades now, especially in the (many) red states. They like their voters uneducated because they can feed them their lies, which keeps them in power. And ultimately entice them to attack the Capitol and lynch those lefty traitors. And of course, they want ‘their’ people in the military too. That happens automatically as the military has to recruit from that same population and if a large part of the population is Trumpian, the military ends up with a representation of that Trumpian population within its walls. Since people can’t be stopped from entering the military based on their political beliefs, so Beau is right in saying that the only way to change this is to have people better educated and learn how to be critical thinkers in general before they enter the military.

    • I think to really appreciate “Orange Acres” one needs to have been a fan of, or at least seen, “Green Acres.”  I plan to keep up with it (unless everyone hates it) but I’ll have plenty of other things to see also.

  3. Thanks JD! 02

Hill – ever time I see vids like these my skin crawls!

LP – that warrants several Life Without Possibility of Parole sentences, starting with Trump**

    RA – Amen!

Groceries came – out of 26

  4. I’m ready to move to Norway…..and go back to University….thanks…………………………Fugelsang is great again…..
