Monologue – Unfortunately none of these has CC.  (Yes, Mary Trump did have a word or two to say about the “crazy uncle” tweet.)  We haven’t talked about the soggy laptop here, but there is plenty of substantiation elsewhere that the story is a typical Russian disinformation project.

Fareed Zakaria – I’m sure ine doesn’t have to be an expert to see a relationship between CoViD (and other potential pandemics) and climate change, but you do need at least two brain cells to rub together, and be willing to rub them. Too many people don’t.

New Rule – Good grief, I had no idea there were that many Catholics on the court – I’m Catholic but that’s ridiculous. The word “catholic” means “universal,” and if you look even just at the court at who is catholic and how far apart their views are, you can get a glimpse of why that still has some validity, but not enough for that kind of over-representation. Damn.

  1. W/watch later on this evening.
    Thank you, Joanne.

  2. #1: “Crazy Uncle” living in an alternate universe!
#2: We don’t learn, not easily, nor fast enough.  WE are exceptionally dumb!  Went to a farm market earlier, two of the [people there with no masks, and there were not many, were a PREGNANT woman, and her spouse.  ‘Buff said!
#3: Graduating class of lawyers from where, Liberty Univ?  The place that teaches that the founders never meant to separate church and state?  Oh, for a time machine, and a little visit to John adams!  The Federalist society is a Koch Bros. creation.  Barr was a member of the Board of Trustees of Opus Dei!  Schemer:  It’s not about being a nice guy and not making religion an issue, it’s about making crazy religion an issue!

  3. Thanks JD.  I hope I have time to watch later.  09

  4. Will be watching it later after dinner. I did record it last night.
    Thanks Joanne

  5. Thanks, Joanne.

BM#1: Bill is a true stand-up comedian and better with an audience. This one was up to par again.

BM#2: The cut was too small with Bill ending with “[the poor] don’t have access to good food, that must be part of the solution…” Bill, like every progressive, is well aware that most people aren’t unhealthy by choice but by circumstance and in that respect, there is no “we don’t learn from this pandemic”. If anything it has taught the wrong people (again) how to get rid of certain demographic groups such as First Nations people and poor black communities.

BM#3: That the Catholic faith is even more over-represented in SCOTUS than Republican political affiliation was already common knowledge (it was mentioned by DK and the NYT) and the scary thing is that NEITHER should be in SCOTUS, or any court for that matter.

    • I have no objection to anyone of any faith being a justice or a judge, provided the person knows how to separate church from state.

Yes, in a way, that’s a tall order, but an awful lot of people have managed to accomplish it over the years.
