Criminal Fuhrer Trump* and the Republican Reich never cease to amaze me. Every time I think they have exceeded bounds of human credulity, they take another asymptotic step toward infinity.
After a presentation Thursday that touched on the disinfectants that can kill the novel coronavirus on surfaces and in the air, President Trump pondered whether those chemicals could be used to fight the virus inside the human body.
“I see the disinfectant that knocks it out in a minute, one minute,” Trump said during Thursday’s coronavirus press briefing. “And is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside, or almost a cleaning? Because you see it gets inside the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it would be interesting to check that.”
The question, which Trump offered unprompted, immediately spurred doctors, lawmakers and the makers of Lysol to respond with incredulity and warnings against injecting or otherwise ingesting disinfectants, which are highly toxic.
“My concern is that people will die. People will think this is a good idea,” Craig Spencer, director of global health in emergency medicine at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center, told The Washington Post. “This is not willy-nilly, off-the-cuff, maybe-this-will-work advice. This is dangerous.”… [emphasis added]

Lysol Manufacturer Warns Against Internal Use After Trump Comments
Actually, I trust that virtually no Democrats or sane Independents are stupid enough to go along with such a lame idea. Criminal Fuhrer Trump* and the MAGA Maniacs of the Republican Reich should try it themselves!
RESIST!!

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
Personally, I’m allergic to Lysol (and to turpenes, so Pine-sol is even worse) and would not have it in the house. Of all the things that do not belong in the bloodstream, Lyson is right up there. You would not think anyone would fall for it – at least not until you read the list of things they have already fallen for (aquarium cleaner comes to mind. And independents might fall for it, or for almost anything, if they are Libertarian-leaning independents.)
Some people may be protected – I hope – by being unaware how to get the necessary equipment. Unfortunately, that doesn’t apply to insulin-dependent diabetics. I hope and pray that even Republicans don’t listen to him on this.
Update: Seen around the web on this subject:
Tweet from “The Volatile Mermaid” (@OhNoSheTwitnt)
Calm down, Trump just suggested injecting people with bleach, it’s not like he said anything really dangerous like when Michelle Obama suggested that kids should eat vegetables.
Authors of the NEJM article:
Amanda Kerri is a writer for the gay magazine/blog “The Advocate” – but that’s all I could really find
Andre Young is Dr. Dre’s real name
Meredith Gray (but spelled Grey) is the title character on “Grey’s Anatomy”
Douglas E. Powers – found nothing close – maybe he’s the actual prankster
And the article itself is a hoot & howl!
(Picking a nit, and maybe it was purposeful, but the actual date was April 23rd – not March. A medical article just automatically brings out the “critical thinker” in me.)
I did notice the discrepancy in the month. I thought maybe a flag that it’s satire? Anyway, it is a hoot indeed.
This is something to behold, with his lying, and with these comments.
He’s endangering people’s lives by this advice, and those who listen to him.
He’s a dangerous man, from the get-go, and this just proves it.
imho.
“We knew he was insane before he said this. The disappointment is that the experts present didn’t have the courage to forcefully repudiate it. They didn’t jump up & warn America that what we just heard was homicidally insane.” ~ Lawrence O’Donnell ~
What have you got to lose? Your life! Then again, people dumb enough to fall for this crud probably shouldn’t breed in the first place.
Testing
“…or any other route.” Yeah, like suppositories? Ice pops? Let’s see if Dumpy would like either, or both of those.
Yes, Freya, that’s why they have Darwin Awards!
The company has been getting inquiries. From where, the cuckoo’s Nest? I think Trump IS the cuckoo’s nest.
Trump’s medical experts have managed to convince him that his suggestions were insane and dangerous – well, probably not in those words exactly – and now he’s backtracking in his usual way.
Posed “sarcastically”??? BS! They were not sarcastic comments. It was a test of loyalty — anyone who followed his advice would be deemed a loyal MAGA follower and Trump supporter. Never mind that they died in support of the Furher!
He is mentally ill to the max and I don’t doubt that some of his loyalists are too!
When I lived up north quite a few years ago, Lysol aerosol was removed from the store shelves because it had become a way to get high and it was cheap. The effects, other than the high, were substantial skin irratation and open very red weeping sores.
So if Trump does not kill people with his hydroxychloroquine cocktail, then the disinfectants will do the job.
I was shocked to watch the both the local and world news seeing this bozo asking the doctor if it would be possible to check into whether injecting Bleach or Lysol would cure the Covid-19 virus?
Where in the heck is he coming from?? It’s like he really does want people to flat out die.
He needs to be taken to a mental hospital and kept away from other human beings on this planet.
The parallels to Jim Jones become even more evident…this made me extra glad Trump is not participating in WHO’s internationally team to plan an effective response. I note this one may not require the FDA to give a warning against it like the last one that killed people.
traitor trump never ceases to shock me!!! the fact that this ignorant dangerous person is our president is the most frightening thing i have experienced !!! our country is in grave danger with him as potus!!! we have to remove him. vote him out in november!!! shout shout vote him out!!!!
