It’s a chilly day, here in the CatBox, and surprisingly, I was able to find the material I need for articles today.  Tomorrow is a holy day in the Church of the Ellipsoid Orb.  My Broncos play the Chargers.  It won’t be televised here, because my Bronco’s stink.  May the divine Orb shine its blessed light on your team, unless they zap with electricity.  Tomorrow is a WWWendy day as well, and we shall do chores, de-stink the funky TomCat, and celebrate our Thanksgiving.  Therefore, please expect no more than a Personal Update from me tomorrow.  Weekend Hugs!

  1. Cartoon: Ditto on that, TC.
    PPC: Awesome song/and words!
CNN: I can’t even imagine being connected to anything such as this. Scary stuff/people out there, really sad.
Buffy: Beautiful singer, truth in her words too!

Hi Wendy! Gawd, we’re at almost 80 and cloudy here..crazy! Hope that you have a good rest of your day, and that all goes well tomorrow with chores, and getting a chance to relax, and celebrate your Thanksgiving. We play vs. NE tomorrow, @7:20 or so. We’ll see.

*This just in: Eric T., came up with a slogan for the red hat and his daddy. ” ‘LOPA’. ‘Leave our President Alone’. How about ‘Lead Our President Away’?” ~Anon~
    2. “Not that I like Bloomberg to win, but I know his participation irks dt ‘ad infinitum’, just because B’s fortune is several times larger. Makes me smile.” ~ Tom JK ~
    3. “Oh, what a miserable life we lead, when we allow ourselves to be deceived.” ~ Ed H. ~

  2. 5:51  Quite colorful for a salad.

PSA here: On Sunday, December 8, at 6:00 p.m. my time (but check local listings) PBS will air a special by Rick Steves called “Fascism in Europe.” For anyone who doesn’t know, Rick Steves is an expert in travel, particularly in Europe but also elsewhere, who can advise you with the same cheery aplomb on everything on how to make the best use of your money to how to get to know the people where you travel and learn about their culture. Although he never talks politics in his travel specials (well, he has been known to talk with Danes about how they feel about paying high taxes), it’s not hard to tell he’s a progressive from his attitudes. This one, being more on history than on traveling today, will be a little different. Having followed Rick for a while, what I will be expecting is a show that will make parallels between 1920s-30s Europe and 2000-2020 United States with both crystal clarity and enough gentleness to make it palatable to your crazy uncle. But it’s brand new, and I haven’t yet seen it, so I can’t guarantee that. (Other things that caught my eye scanning through include a performance of “Jesus Christ Superstar” including John Legend and Alice Cooper, a re-run of the 25th Anniversary Les Miz celebration, and a two-hour special on the era in Europe – in Spain – when Christians and Muslims managed to co-exist peacefully. But if you go through the complete December schedule you might find something that interests you even more.)

Cartoon – Except he was acquitted. We need to do better. And I submit we need to do it three times rather than twice.  (OK, you did say “at least.”)

Other PP – Not his best IMO.

CNN – Sure, but on the other hand, it’s good that police are raiding them. We could use more of thet.

Past – Years ago, someone told me Buffy had died. So glad they were wrong. (It took me too long to learn it too. My bad.)

    • My first month-long trek through Europe was solely guided by Rick Steves.

(Steves’ book was very helpful, but unfortunately for me this was right after my residency, and long before the internet and smartphones.  It was really tough lugging around those stone tablets.)

      • I had a colleague at USAA, a military wife, who left because her husband was transferred to Turkey.  Of course I had to get the DVD with the Turkey show on it for her.  What else could I do?

  3. Enjoy your ‘Thanksgiving’ meal with WWWendy, TomCat.

3:40 It will be even lovelier when the pink flowers open too.

PP: Don is getting more critical of Democrats lately in his parodies, and this one doesn’t shy away from it either. He’s not overjoyed with the extremely-rich likes of Biden and Bloomberg and I guess he’s not a great fan of a two-party system but I’m sure he’d rather have them than Trump.

CNN: Yup, Fascists are everywhere. They never have been away, but had to go into hiding for a long time. Trump and the GOP, but of course also European leadership has allowed them to crawl out of the woodwork and gain a lot of following through social media. Your remark on the GOP opening branches all over the world is meant as a joke, of course, TomCat, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they supported them financially too, just as the Russians and the Chinese do wherever they have a chance to throw countries into chaos.

BFTP: No memories linked to Buffy’s version, but still a darn good song with lyrics that sadly are as true now as the day they were written.

Enjoy some dawgs with your Thanksgiving dinner, TomCat!

  4. I envy you your delicious Turkey Day dining with Wendy – especially those Hollandaise glazed Brussel sprouts!

  5. Cartoon: Agree with your comment, TC. We must!
PPC: Have to agree with Lona about Don not being so critical of the Democrats. I would hope that he does prefer having one of them over tRump.
CNN: Awful that this is even happening. Our world has turned so evil, full of so much hatred all thanks to idiots like tRump preaching
BFTP: Nice song. I’ve never heard of Buffy. It does speak such truth.
Hope you have a great Sunday with Wendy. That you both have a beautiful Thanksgiving Dinner together.
Maybe your Broncos will win over the Chargers too.
    Take care.
    Thanks TomCat

  6. Thanks and Ellipsoid Orb hugs to all! 🏈
