I hope it’s a restful day here in the CatBox. I have busy times ahead. Today is a Holy Day in the Church of the Ellipsoid Orb. My Broncos have their Bye week, so may the Divine Orb shine it’s Blessed light on your team. Please expect no more than a Personal Update from me for the next two days. Tomorrow is a WWWendy day with an extra stinky TomCat to scrub and lots of chores to do. Monday is half a day of routine semi-annual eye torture with Allison, my Ocular Oncologist to make sure my eye cancer has not returned. Weekend hugs to all!

Short Takes:
From The Nation: …The question of “control” explains the fundamental division between philanthropy and social democracy. Billionaires like Bloomberg, Cooperman, and Gates can be quite generous in giving away money—so long as they continue to control the purse strings. That type of charity, even for the best of causes, only reinforces their power in society. But social democracy isn’t about charity but rather bringing wealth, which is socially created, under democratic control. Taxing wealth and reallocating it as a democratic government sees fit is crucial to creating a society where power is more evenly distributed. Charity is commendable in many ways, but it doesn’t alter power relations.
Sanders and Warren are pursuing a hard path. To democratize the American economy, they’ll need to not just fight traditional Republican foes but also alienate some erstwhile allies. Among the former friends that need to be shunted aside are the good billionaires.
Click through for the rest. Bloomberg may be a philanthropist and left-center socially, but fiscally, he’s a Republican. Dump the DINO! He needs to be flushed in advance. RESIST!!
From YouTube (MSNBC Channel): Witness Paints Trump Scheme, Russian Threat In Vivid Detail
If Fiona Hill testifies next week, she will have the Republican Reich for Lunch, especially the idiot, who enables perverts, that Trump planted to enable him. RESIST!!

Ah… the memories! RESIST!!

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
I just keep thinking that those billionaires who are running for president could really help a great deal if they would drop out of the race and donate all that money to Dems running for the Senate and House. I mean that could make a big difference!
Amen Carrie!
6:25 Lost in the woods.
Not a fun project for Monday … but worth it.
And this here is an example of why I would have loved to go to Law School – and have my logic and rationality constantly tested. The guy is wrong, but he does have a point.
Cartoon – She needs a third hand with which to weigh down the scale.
Nation – The most that charity indicate is a good heart. And frankly, sometimes it doesn’t even indicate that. The last thing our country needs is a billionaire at the helm. Bloomberg, I think, will be dangerous only if he decides to run third party. Steyer scares me more. Regardless, none of then is helping. We don’t nee charity now. We need a revolution.
Hearings – I am behind at reading even highlights (Fourteen or fifteen pages is better than 300 and more, but it’s still a lot. (I think you are right about Dr. Hill, and sincerely hope she doesn’t get indigestion.)
Past – Of course I remember Donovan, but not this song.
Cartoon: UGH!
Nation: I’m not excited that he’s joined the race. I’m still for Ms. Warren, through and through.
MSNBC: Good reporting by Rachel. I need to mark this day, and go buy some (more) popcorn…this is going to get really good…
BFTP: Sweet !!
We have a bye too, this week. Hi Wendy!! Hopefully, you’ll get a chance to get a breather, with all that is going on for you. Take good care, Tom, and Thanks.
*The parade went very well here, was disappointed to see only ONE female Vet USAF there though. (She and I worked together at one of the elementary schools, years ago.)
*This just in: ‘The Berlin Wall fell on November 9th – 30 years ago. I have a piece of it, from a friend who happened to be stationed in Germany at the time. ~pb~

Cartoon:Half blinded fits our current GOP.
Nation: Just want we didn’t need, another billionaire entering the race. The only good thing about him, is he does have experience in politics. I see tRump was already calling him little Mike yesterday on the news. I’m still hoping to get Ms. Warren in there, but we still have months to go.
MSNBC: It’s getting juicer now. All the good evidence is starting to come out against tRump. Wish you were all close by so we could have a get together to watch it.
BFTP: Another great tune. The psychedelic colors were fun to watch.
Hope you have a great Saturday. That you are able to catch up from your office adventures you had last week. I know they can take a lot out of you.
Take care. Thanks TomCat
The annual conference of billionaires supporting themselves paying more taxes held in the Silicon Valley was recently held again.–Conference predates Trump electionThe transcripts from her and others paint a sordid picture of the abuse of power historians say our founders feared and included impeachment as the remedy.
Enjoy your weekend and tank-up on energy for that horrible eye torture, the result of which hopefully will be negative on cancer cells.
3:18 Ah, so lovely and green.
Nation: Get money out of politics and that includes millionaires/billionaires who buy their seat in Congress or even the White House. They are part of the 1% and in no way represent the other 99%, no matter what they say. It’s utterly ridiculous that 1% of the nation is represented by 50% of Congress. If the DNC would push Bloomberg, they’ll lose all the votes they’ve gained in the past few years and Trump will be reelected.
MSNBC: I do hope Fiona Hill is looked after extremely well and she doesn’t come in contact with some fancy new Russian chemical, like some people in England did a year ago. If she is called by the commission to testify publicly – something I doubt Republicans would incourage – it would be very detrimental to the GOP if she’s as straight forward and passionate about national security as she was behind closed doors. But whatever she does, she can kiss her career goodbye as Trump will do everything to destroy it in the coming year, vengeful as he is.
Her testimony got me thinking on the reason behind Bolton quitting his job/being sacked. It seems like he really didn’t want to be part of this scheme. I didn’t think the man had that much integrity left in him.
BFTP: Don’t think I ever heard it before.
Thanks and Hurry Hugs to all!
