WWWendy will be here in a bit, and I’m trying to get another bout of Republicosis under control, before she gets here.  Argh!  This is my only article today.  Ellipsoid Orb Hugs to all.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:32 (average 5:01).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Cartoon:

Now over 2,200,000

Short Takes:

From NY Times: United States Special Operations commandos carried out a risky raid in northwestern Syria on Saturday against a senior terrorist leader there, two senior administration officials said late Saturday.

A senior American official said commandos and analysts were still seeking to confirm the identity of the terrorist, who the officials said was killed in the operation when he exploded his suicide vest.

But a person close to President Trump and a senior American official said that the target of the raid was believed to be the leader of the Islamic State, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. A senior administration official said that the president had approved the mission.

With Trump in charge, it will be al-Baghdadi, whether it is or not. No doubt he will attribute the success to his own superiority and claim that the intelligence for the location is a byproduct of his brilliant plan to withdraw US troops from protecting the Kurds. For the record, the military has been watching that location closely since September, and the intelligence came from our former allies, the Kurds. It had nothing to do with Trump. RESIST!!

From YouTube (SNL Channel): Trump Rally Cold Open

As much as I love SNL, was this a REAL trump rally? If not, how in hell could we tell the difference? RESIST!!

From YouTube (a blast from the past): Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young – Teach Your Children (Official Music Video)

Ah… the memories!  RESIST!!

  1. Cartoon: Gawd, how sad !!
NYT: Yeah, he’ll flaunt and say that he alone could have done this. What an As-.
SNL: Well, Alec wasn’t sweating, or primping on stage, plus, the crowd was quieter too. Oh! And this ‘Trump’ did not say things over and over, (lie) and he spoke in simple declarative sentences.
    BFTP: Love this song……

Hi Wendy, how are you? Hope that your Republicosis goes away, I hope you start feeling better. In the meantime, take good care, enjoy your day/evening, and Thanks, Tom.

*This just in: “Nixon was a POTUS who became a criminal. Trump is a criminal who became president.” ! Quay H. ~
    2. “Calgary Agency just trademarked “Fake News”, so Trump can’t use it anymore.”  ~ The Society of Professional Journalists/Wax Partnership ~  🙂
    3. “dt uses Twitter as a propaganda tool.” ~ Robert B. ~

  2. 4:53 There’s a tipi just east of a bridge over the Arkansas River on Highway 50 in Colorado. There’s a small trailer near it. It doesn’t look lived in. It looks a little more expectable there than in front of a castle.

Cartoon – I don’t think it is either possible nor desirable to abolish prisons completely. But I have signed one or two petitions to do so, as a bargaining chip, because we are way, way overusing them.

NYT – Even as I was reading, I was thinking, “How much of this is real, and how much is from Trump? Because whtever comes from Trump is not going to be real.”

SNL – The craziness of Trump supporters is so far out it can’t really be satirized. It can’t really even be captured. But this may be the best effort I’ve seen.

Past – The graphics are breathtaking.  The lyrics are … not out of date.

  3. Cartoon: That really is sad. I like Joanne have signed many petitions to help they reconsider who really should be sent there.
NYT: Glad that the special forces have finally taken down the leader of the Islamic State, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. We know doggone well that tRump is going to take all of the credit. Love the way last night he sent a message out saying that he had an announcement in the morning. And that it was BIG. Like you pointed out TC, they. the special forces, have been on this since September eyeing him. We know tRump hasn’t.
SNL: Sure could of fooled me. Alec plays the roll so very well. Plus the ones playing the supporters were great too. Speaking exactly like his real supporters do.
Blast: Great song. CSNY again was one of my favorite groups.
Hope you have a great Sunday. Hi Wendy. Hope you and Wendy get lots accomplished with her visit.
    Take care. Thanks TomCat

  4. ‘Toon: Yeah, only in the “Land of the free.”
NYT: He’ll say that this was better than the taking down of bin-Laden.
SNL: I was not a live rally, because if it were Erdogan would have been stuffing Dumpy’s pockets with greenbacks!
CSNY: “A children’s hell” is just what that orange freak has created, and then some!

  5. Look after yourself Tom Cat,and have a nice evening.😐

  6. When I woke up this morning and heard that our Special Operations Forces killed a terrorist leader who was a sworn enemy to America, our people and our ideals I thought – FINALLY … they got Trump.

    Sorry – my bad

  7. The number of bouts of Republicosis is getting a little worrisome, TomCat. True, Republicans are at their worst at the moment, but you better look into it if it keeps up.

3:47 Glare and sunglasses are slowing me down, I’ll have a hard time beating you in the coming season, TomCat.

Cartoon: After a brief lowering of numbers when Obama called off the three strikes for drug possession, it’s been downhill from thereon. I don’t think the 2,200,000 include any of the locked-up “illegal immigrants”, does it?

NYT: Aussies weren’t very impressed with the way Trump spoke of his success: ‘Whimpering and crying’ IS leader ‘died like a dog’ in US raid, Trump says and Cowards, dogs and losers: Trump’s announcement of IS leader’s death is one to remember. The media here is of the opinion it’ll come back to haunt him and America. Besides no certainty yet, if ever, that this is Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, it’s very unlikely that he died whimpering and crying when he pulled the cords of his suicide vest himself. Good to note that Trump didn’t thank the Kurds for their intelligence but did thank the Russians for their help.

SNL: You can tell the show from a real rally by looking at the studio audience which is of average IQ by the looks of them and not insanely jumping up and down whenever the camera is pointed at them. All other ‘guests’ were very true to life, but Alex didn’t lose himself in a word salad once, which is very unlike Trump.

YT: Great animation, drawing this wonderful song with unsurpassed harmonies and strong lyrics into this decade of madness.

    • “Illegal immigrants” aren’t supposed to be in that number, no.  I think the one exception would be “illegal immigrants” who have actually been tried and convicted of something criminal and would therefore not be in an immigrant prison but in a judicial prison.  But they would be few in number.  Immigrants, including “illegal” ones have been proven to commit crimes at a substantially lower rate than do citizens.

    • I agree.  The American people will pay in blood fos Trump’s extreme arrogance. 13

  8. Resistance against the Prison-Industrial Complex should have started then – but too many people were pounding the drums of “Get Tough on Crime” and “Lock ‘Em Up.” I wonder if they are proud of what they hath wrought.

  9. Thanks and sleepy OGIM Hugs to all. 19
