Bill Maher from 10/25

It’s that time of week again, so here are three excellent video clips from Bill’s show last night.  Enjoy!

Monologue: Mad King Trump

That was a superior job of lampooning Trump. Bill should not be surprised about Katie Hill [D-CA]. She’s from California, where smoking a bong is fairly common.

Chris Cuomo

I understand him. At one time I was an independent moderate, but the independent moderate of 1980 is today’s leftist radical. I didn’t change much at all. The nation’s entire political spectrum moved disastrously to the right, between then and now.

New Rule: Nowhere Else to Go

We actually have a bunch of parties, not just two.  Lefties, all too commonly, stick their noses in the air over their foolish perception of purity and vote for minor parties that have no chance. Were it not for Putin Puppet Jill Stein, Hillary would have won the three states she needed. In practical reality, there are two choices, and any minor party vote is a vote for Trump. Vote Blue, no matter who!

That show was better than average!

  1. I’ll watch and comment as soon as the opera is over.

    OK, the opera is over.

Bill – Monologue – The old story – he’s abusive, she gets in trouble for it.

Cuomo – Stunning observation that Republicans disparage “political correctness” by playing on the the bigotry and hatred which are exactly why “political correctness” is so necessary. Very interesting. Several other good observations too.

New Rule – Not that he doesn’t have a point. But his examples are because Democrats are all about doing what’s right – and some troll can always come up with an extreme example that makes that sounds crazy. Multiple parties – we have that withing the Democratic Party (whereas Republicans are robots.) Not that this isn’t a problem. If we had a system such that government by coalition were possible, those third parties would be just fine – they could caucus with us without losing their idwentity (except the Libertarians, wh would and do caucus right.) They could be part of a winning team and still be themselves. But that’s not possible. Now.

  2. W/watch later this evening,
    Thanks, Tom.

  3. Bill #1: Funny!  Louis 14th, maybe that’s who he thinks he is.
Bill#2: Cuomo seems quite real.  I do not watch shows of that sort, or, truthfully, much of any TV, so I came to this as a virgin.  I was never much of a moderate, and like “The Squad,” but agree with CC that they need to earn some work points.  Rashid Tlaib was way out of line calling Dumpy by his right name, but not at that point in time, for instance.
    Bill #3: Excellent points!

  4. Enjoyed Bill’s show. He’s spot on about tRump.
    Thanks TomCat

  5. Bill #1: Excellent monologue, but “It’s getting so ‘mad king’ out there lately” has been true for about three years now.

Bill #2: I didn’t know Cuomo at all, but I liked his acuity and sharp wit and he wasn’t afraid of putting Bill in his place either. (You’re not above defining what Italians can be offended by?). Smart cookie.

Bill #3: I don’t follow the debates and rallies of Democratic candidates very closely, but I don’t think any of those candidates made any of the examples Bill came up, with their political priority or theme. I blame the media for this, possibly pushed by the old establishment in the DNC, who go through a  candidate’s political program with a toothcomb, then try to catch them out on some extreme consequence of a general campaign issue and use their answer to the trick question in a headline, suggesting this is what the candidate is campaigning for to show how extreme they are. How left- or right-wing is the Daily Wire by the way?  I’m saddened to see Bill falling for that and using it, but he sure makes up with “I’ve got nowhere else to go!”

    • ” How left- or right-wing is the Daily Wire by the way?”

Pretty far to the right – but generally not the looney right.

Ben Shapiro is a founder, and he’s pretty competent.  (Summa cum laude UCLA w/ a BA & then cum laude Harvard law – so no dummy.)

    • I agree with Nameless.  Daily-Wire is center-right.  Bill is center-left. 40

    • Proves my point that they are trying to catch out Democrats on dug-up, far-out consequences of otherwise general good ideas and that they are not the selling-points these Democrats have taken on themselves.

  6. Thanks and Hugs to all. πŸ’©

  7. Funny – and informative – as usual. Bernie supporting voting by inmates? That’s absurd. I’m all for letting them vote once they are out of prison and have paid their debt to society, but NOT before then. Transgender surgery for inmates? Really, Ms. Warren! I still support her, but I agree that is a bit much. Unfortunately, reich-wingers will use this against her. Fortunately, even if she becomes POTUS, the chances of that becoming policy are probably quite slim.

On the one hand, Democrats need to be real Progressives, not centrist sellouts; on the other hand, they shouldn’t go overboard.
