I’m heading to the walk-in clinic. Think I have another episode of cellulitis of my L leg – but NOT from the cat. It’s from a chair tipping over w/ me in it.
(I just hope I don’t have anterior compartment syndrome.)

Yow dude!!! I definitely prescribe a visit to the clinic. Good thing you are a doctor and not susceptible to medical BS like I was when it turned out I had multiple avulsion fractures in my right foot, not a sprain. Two months later after lots of physio, I was finally able to get rid of the boot.
Healing prayers for you and I will light a candle at church for you.
I saw the nurse practitioner and I’m on Keflex, which is a reasonable choice. But she can’t prescribe any pain meds because you need a DEA Number for controlled substances.
I can’t even tolerate the cat rubbing up against my leg because of the exquisite pain. But I didn’t need any of the hydrocodone I got for a tooth extraction, so I’ll be OK.
Dear Heaven, I hope you don’t have that too. (Or more accurately I, too, hope you don’t have that.) I have pretibial myxedema myself, but only on the legs and completely painless (though annoying.) I can’t even imagine what you must be going through if a pootie caress is too painful. Prayers definitely.
So sorry to hear about the new bout of cellulitis. Having recovered with difficulty from my first case, I understand perfectly why you needed to have it looked at quickly and by someone who’d diagnose it correctly and gave you the appropriate treatment.
Sorry about the pain you have to endure despite the treatment, I hope it’ll lessen when the Keflex starts to work.
You’re not in that phase yet, but my leg kept swelling up painfully for the longest time after the inflammation went down. That stopped when, on advise, I bought myself some flight pressure stockings which stopped the daily swelling after two weeks of wearing them.
OH! NO!
Hope that you get a diagnosis quickly, and meds to combat/combat it!
Best to you, and take good care, hope you feel batter, Nameless.
Ouch! I’m so sorry! Prayers for a speedy recovery!

Not to be flip but how’s the chair?
The chair is fine.

Glad to read that you are back home and resting, Nameless.

And by all means take all the time you need.
