We knew it was bad. Russia flooded social media with propaganda using thousands of fake identities. Of course the Republican Reichsministry of Propaganda, Faux Noise, picked it up and ran with it. The Trump campaign and the Republican Reich quoted it as fact ad nauseam. The deplorable Sheeple ate it up. Confused voters stayed home. And even some progressives, who I have known and respected for years, quoted it to argue against me and my ‘Vote Blue’ position, because they didn’t realize it was bogus Russian propaganda. I suspected that Russia had infiltrated our vote counting infrastructure in a few places to a limited extent. I had no idea how bad it really is!
The Senate Intelligence Committee concluded Thursday that election systems in all 50 states were targeted by Russia in 2016, an effort more far-reaching than previously acknowledged and one largely undetected by the states and federal officials at the time.
But while the bipartisan report’s warning that the United States remains vulnerable in the next election is clear, its findings were so heavily redacted at the insistence of American intelligence agencies that even some key recommendations for 2020 were blacked out.
The report — the first volume of several to be released from the committee’s investigation into Russia’s 2016 election interference — came 24 hours after the former special counsel Robert S. Mueller III warned that Russia was moving again to interfere “as we sit here.”
While details of many of the hackings directed by Russian intelligence, particularly in Illinois and Arizona, are well known, the committee described “an unprecedented level of activity against state election infrastructure” intended largely to search for vulnerabilities in the security of the election systems…

Both Chris Hayes and 11th Hour reported on the importance of this story.
Democrats are trying to give themselves a political advantage. They have a political advantage anytime Republican cheating is prevented!
Why are Republicans blocking funds for election security? They are counting on Russian help. It’s the Republican way to win!
RESIST!!

I’m sure it’s no coincidence that the states which are known to be the most consistent in voting blue are pretty much the states that have theirown procedures in place, and keep improving them.Colorado is pretty good (and a leader in the field), but I’m sure we are not immune, and I’m sure our state government is aware of that (and working on it).
This whole circus is an excellent argument for abolishing the Electoral College – at least, for anyone who believes that we should choose our leaders, rather than having our leaders choose their voters.
Gawd, this is sickening! and despicable. I worry about the upcoming elections, as Chris is spreading the alarm, (as you are too, TC.) dt will ‘try’ to win the election again, with the help of Russia, as he’ll get arrested as soon as he leaves office. Wishful thinking here, wish we could depose him now for all his misdeeds.
I agree, Joanne, we should abolish the EC !!
Chris Hayes: McConnell needs to be unelected, along with Dumpy, and both sent to Kamchatka Island, to the new penal colony for supreme ass*oles!
CNN: As above! The GOPIGGIES have known for a long time that they can not win in a fair election, and all of the resistance to immigration is about keeping likely future Democratic voters out of the country!
The GOP has relinquished any (already questionable) claim to being a legitimate part of the political process, whatever, as it has gutted itself of any socially redeeming characteristics it once had!
The biggest – and scariest – Take Home from the Mueller hearing can be summarized in two slides:\
And The New York Times Op-Ed Headline …
Which explains why McConnell crushed the Bill that the House sent to increase election security.
To Rethuglicans: That’s a Feature – NOT a Bug.
To say nothing of another favorite Rethuglicanazi tactic and pastime: Voter suppression. Here in Georgia we would now have the nation’s first female black governor – and the state’s first female AND first black governor – if our voting system had been fair. But scumwad Brian Kemp indulged in voter suppression for years, especially of non-whites, and sat on approximately 53,000 voter applications before our last election. He didn’t win Georgia’s gubernatorial race, he f###ing STOLE it. And he knows it.
Agree that this is totally despicable. Hearing Mueller say that it’s still going on with the interference of the evil countries doesn’t make me happy one bit.
We must fight back and get the creep out of office.Agree that this is totally despicable. Hearing Mueller say that

Thanks, Hugs and Amen to all.
Michael McFaul:
By not allowing the bipartisan legislation to be discussed and voted on, McTurtle is guilty of treason for allowing foreign and domestic players to sow distrust in the American system at the very least, and at worst, selling the country to the highest “bidder”.
Democrats are not perfect, but Republicans are deplorable. Vote PROGRESSIVE BLUE no matter who!
