From Daily Kos: The growing campaign to elect the president by popular vote met two defeats on Thursday, as the governor of one swing state rejected a bill to add his state’s Electoral College votes to the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, while lawmakers in another did the same.
Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak unexpectedly became the first Democratic governor in the country to veto a bill to join the compact, meaning the state’s six electoral votes won’t get added to the 189 that are already part of the compact. Sisolak defended his decisionwith the fallacious claim that the Electoral College benefits small states such as Nevada, and his veto statement leaves little room for a future reversal. Supporters lack the votes in the legislature to override Sisolak’s veto, and it appears unlikely that they will be able to do so while Sisolak remains governor.
It’s time for a primary challenge to DINO Sisolak! RESIST!!

Graham – It’s this kind of thing that makes me suspect blackmail is in the picture for Lindsey. Other Repubs are position-changing hypocrites, but his words seem to put him in a class by himself.
NPV – Well, that’s too bad. I had not expected it to go through by 2020, however; we are too far off for that. Sadly. We’ll have to win the old fashioned way (and I DON’T mean by cheating.)

I got my weekly letter from Lona, and I offer her nothing but healing comforting prayers, and my utmost condolences in losing the love of her life, her husband. I am still stunned by her news. Deeply saddening.
BBA: Nope, nope. Can’t watch her, she spews nothing but bigoted hateful words. What boggles my mind is thatpeople think she’s the best thing since sliced bread. Believe me, she’s not!!!!

I came hoping for a PoliticsPlus note where I could join this community’s channel of love & support for Lona – and found it in the comments here. I wish we could be closer to her at this terrible time in her life, but together we can channel our loving support her way, to get through the chaotic shock & heavy demands of these first days … then the pain of the absence. I know that here she has many dear friends who are sending her their love.
At just Care2 and here, she has touched a lot of lives. I said so in my note to her.
