Here is the one hundred fifty-seventh article in our Republicans on Parade series, featuring individuals who personify what the Republican Party has become. Today’s winner is Republican Coverup General, William “Barf Bag” Barr. He is so honored for protecting his beloved Fuhrer from the consequences of his many crimes.

0410Barr…While refusing to further characterize Mueller’s findings, Barr offered the lawmakers a few additional morsels that were not previously known. He said the process of redacting the report for public consumption is “going along very well” and that he would release it “within a week”—keeping to his mid-April timetable.

Democrats have assailed Barr’s plan for redacting four categories of information, warning that the attorney general could use the excisions to shield damaging findings about Trump from the public. And while lawmakers acknowledge that some information—such as classified intelligence on the Russian government—should be withheld from the public, they have argued that Congress needs the full, unredacted report to exercise its constitutional oversight responsibilities.

On that front, Barr left Democrats disappointed. He suggested that Congress might never see the most sensitive portions of Mueller’s report, much less the evidence the special counsel used to arrive at his conclusions, which Democrats have also demanded to see. Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee have already voted to authorize subpoenas for the full report and its underlying evidence, likely setting up a court battle with Barr.

I don’t intend at this stage to send the full, unredacted report to the committee,” the attorney general told the appropriations panel. He was responding to a question from Republican Representative Tom Graves of Georgia, who sought to elicit a warning to members of Congress not to leak redacted portions of the report to the public…  [emphasis added]

Barr may be trying to force House Democrats to open an impeachment investigation as a prerequisite to getting the full report.  Rachel Maddow explains in depth.

Republicans could then use that “investigation” to motivate rabid sheeple for their campaigns.

Lawrence O’Donnell reported on the arrogance of Barr’s extreme partisanship.

I’m afraid a parade just isn’t enough for this Republican’s obstruction of justice.  We need Barr behind bars.

  1. Well, we may have to open an impeachment investigation. It would appear that Republicans think that, if we did, it would be a good thing for them. Would it really? I have to say that, if they are right, and it would harm us in campaigns, then we need to just forget about Trump, the Trump crime family, all the criminals Trump has appointed to high office, all the damage that has been done so far by his regime – because, if that’s true, they aren’t the enemy. The enemy is the American people.

WRT Mueller’s team choosing what gets cut … they already did that in the form of summaries which were submitted with the report.  That was leaked – but it shouldn’t have needed to be leaked, Barr should just have released THOSE summaries in lieu of HIS “summary.”

  2. RM: Congratulations to Rachel (Bag Man series), for being nominated for a Peabody Award.
Boy, nothing like covering up the report. ugh! Very concerning, to say the least. Release the report. “Period”.
Here’s a quote I was going to put on Open Thread but applies to this post more appropriately, imho. “Barr is basically Trump dressed up as Bannon answering questions like Kavanaugh.” ~ Ray N. ~

  3. Both Congress and the public have the right to see the Mueller report in its entirety. Let us peruse his findings and reach our own conclusions. Being tRump’s lap dog, Barr would not release anything but a highly bowdlerized version that doesn’t include anything incriminating his master.

  4. Drumpf  got the perfect man in to protect him.

  5. Barr has done this kind of thong before, as i understand it.
My thinking is to let this go, not give the imbecilic deplorables a cause around which to rally, and get a Democrat into the WH, in 2020!
It is more important to get Drumph out, get control congress, and then decide where to go. That may not seem like as much fun as getting even with the Orange emptiness, but if we focus on the emotions we wish to experience, we may wind up shooting ourselves in the foot.  And, if this pig gets a second term, it is all over!

  6. bArr fits perfectly being chosen this week.
Watching him today on the news when they were showing him during the senate testimony/meeting was a joke. He was stuttering away, unable to speak a full sentence, just like his evil leader does when it comes to answering question.
bArr needs to stop playing his cover-up games.  Been playing them ever since January 2017. We are sick of them.
The truth must come out. We have a right to see the Mueller report.

  7. Barrf doesn’t only deserves to be featured in the PArade, he deserves a place of honour in it for perjuring himself while taking his oath to uphold the constitution and serve his country as AG. He never intended to do so. NEVER. He intended to serve Drumpf and the GOP, and that at any cost to the nation.

  8. Thanks and hugs to all. 09

  9. It is very obvious that Barr serves the Dark Lord (Trump) only and cares nothing of the rule of law or the constitution . . . let alone the country.  And what’s more, he has committed this kind of coverup before with Pappy Bush.  So much for being the Attorney General who should be non partisan in serving ALL the people and justice.  His parade is definitely warranted!

  10. Y’all couldn’t possibly agree with receiving a SELECTIVE VERSION of the report by trumps bum-buddy lawyer?!?!? 🤥
