Alex Jones, purveyor of stupid conspiracies and making money off even stupider people, thought he could tough guy his way through Lucy’s Fried Chicken in Austin, TX. While Texas is unfortunately red, many places (most cities) are strongly Democratic, with Austin perhaps being the most so. (I’m in the DFW area, and we’re a close second in my opinion.)
For whatever reason, Alex decided this was a good forum to start calling people “libtards” and other creative names while roaming the restaurant like a lost raccoon looking for scraps. You may think this would’ve amounted to a fight or otherwise a strong verbal altercation, but no. The patrons laughed at him, made jokes, videoed it from who knows how many phones, and ultimately watched him get escorted out by management…
LMAO!! I guess I’m not the only one that put that Republican asshole on parade. RESIST!!

CNN — I was reading yesterday about Nielsen’s resignation. Apparently Stephen Miller was strongly pushing for her ouster. As you say, good riddance to bad rubbish! And also on Trump’s mind was the Secret Service, another responsibility of DHS. U.S. Secret Service Director Randolph “Tex” Alles has left the Trump administration. AlterNet reports that Trump asked Mick Mulvaney to fire Alles. In fact there are others on the firing line too. Apparently. a full house cleaning appears to be going on with complete ideologues à la Trump replacing the outgoing people. The Trump régime is a ‘house of cards’. May it implode on itself!
Parody Project — Yes JD, very Jacques Brel-esque! . . . especially in the tone. I started listening to Jacques Brel in 1978 while in France. As to Don’s parody, everybody will be rejoicing when Trump goes away . . . far, far away . . . never to return! One thing that bugs me (although I don’t obsess over it) is that Trump gets a security detail after he leaves office, for the rest of his life. Given his diet and his negativity, that should not be too long.

CNN: Kirstjen Nielsen lasted longer than I thought she would after her dismal performance before a committee which she tried to convince that children, separated from their asylum-seeking parents, were not kept in cages like dogs, because these cages were larger than dog benches. The fact that she was blind sided several times on important issues were warning signs, e.g. while talking in Honduras to the government on how well the aid worked, this aid was cut by Drumpf. Nielsen tried to cover all bases of her job in the DHS, Kevin McAleenan, the acting DHS secretary, is put there for one thing only: border control, on which he seems to agree 100% with Drumpf. I hope climate change has more mercy on America than it has on the rest of the world and won’t make 2019 a record-breaking tornado year while Drumpf and McAleenan are calling the shots.

So ‘when you go away’ is constantly overridden by ‘me ne quitte pas’ (don’t leave me), lamented equally beautiful by the Brel in my head.
