It’s that time of week again, and here are three excellent video clips from Sam’s show last night.  Enjoy!

Roger Stone: America’s Athlete’s Foot

Stone’s Nixon tattoo is for prison protection. What prison rapist wants to look at THAT during sex?

Military Spending

We need to spend more on the needs of military personnel and none on the greed of the military-industrial complex.

Stop Doing That! With Nyle DiMarco

I learned a lot that I did not know. Kudos to Sam!

I’m REALLY glad she’s back!

  1. Sam – Act I – It is disproportionately delightful for Stone to get arrested and indicted, exactly because he is so proud of his evil and brags about it.

Act II – Speaking as a veteran … there are pleanty of unsung people in the military, and civil service working with military, who are pinching pennies, ometimes to ridiculaous extremes. It isn’t all F-35s. Additionally, the DoD budget includes the retirement pay to anyone who spent enough years in the military to qualify, as well as anyone who suffered while on active duty a disability sever enough to qualify. And, while I don’t know this, I wouldn’t be surprised if it also includes all of TriCare. Frankly, it’s tough to know where DoD money os ging if all you look at is that one number of the total budget. Certainly, changes in accounting would not solve the problem of our military budget, or even come close. But changes in the way the accounting is presented to the public might make it easier to grasp where the real problems are.

Act III – Wow. This is beautifully done (and I don’t just mean the eye candy.) I think I’m going to have to download this (by which I mean save to my hard drive so I can access it off line.) Deafness is hard to empathize with for hearing people. A sighted person can easily simulate blindness by blocking one’s eyes, but it’s not easy for a hearing person to simulate deafness by blocking one’s ears. There isn’t a built-in turn-off mechanism (like eyelids), and the turn-off mechanisms such as ear plugs which are available generally do not block ALL hearing.

  2. Stone is like a movie or cartoon villain, proud A.F. of his rotten deeds. At least he’ll look good in orange.

We spend WAY TOO MUCH on “defense.” Such is the power of the Military Industrial Complex, the “Iron Triangle” that Eisenhower warned us about. The problems with F-35s seem to prove that, yes, “military intelligence” is an oxymoron. Sounds as though the Red Baron in his rickety old dreidekker could knock a few of them out.
    Bernie? Really?
Donald – not surprised at that demonstration of questionable intellectual prowess.
The best way to support our troops is less spending on questionable weapons, and more on actually supporting them – better pay, and lots more moolah for the VA.

Cops need more training in serving the public trust and protecting the innocent. A lot of people don’t realize just how hard life can be for the hearing impaired.

  3. Love Sam!
    W/watch later, Thanks! Tom.

  4. She’s baaaaack!!! ?

    YAY!!! ??

  5. As someone who has a profound hearing loss, I really appreciate Sam’s “Stop Doing That!” video.

I don’t know how Oklahoma DA David Prater cleared those Highway Patrol Officers, but charged the victim, Mr. Pearl Pearson, with resisting arrest.

The DA eventually dropped the charge because of costs bringing in certified interpreters.  But Mr. Pearson then filed a civil lawsuit and the judge approved an award settlement of $175,000.

The same DA (Prater) also refused to bring any charges against police officer Chris Barnes who killed a deaf man even those his neighbors were screaming at the officer telling he was deaf.

Being deaf is NOT a crime … and it most assuredly should NOT be a death sentence.

    • Yes.  The professor who taught Special Ed 101 at the little college in Alamosa, CO, where I lived for a number of years (it’s now a little university, and the professor recently died) used to start his classes by asking students whether they thought their loss would be greater if they suddenly lost all vision or suddenly lost all hearing.  Most students thought loss of vision would be greater.  WRONG.  Having a hearing  impairment himself, he spent about half the course on deafness and the rest on all other disabilities combined.  Incidentally, he had a stock way of demonstrating some shortcomings of lip reading.  He used to bring a friend to class and say to him, silently but with the clearest possible lip movements, “Do you suffer much?”  Without exception as far as I can remember, students “heard” that as “You’re a son of a b**ch,” which, of course, was why he brought in a friend who already knew).

I’m glad to hear Mr. Prater received a settlement, although I would consider it not enough.

  6. Samantha Bee sure knows the proper words to speak about sTone. Agree with Freya that he will look good in orange too, when he’s sent to prison where hopefully tRump will also be sent.
Taking care of military veterans, I have no problem with it and say YES.
But where they are speaking of spending more on Defense military budgets that have to do with wars, building bombs, planes, etc, I say absolutely NO.
Cops do need to have more training in all sorts of areas. Sign language, over reacting with their guns, etc.

  7. Thanks ever so much for posting ???, TomCat. I will watch them tonight with my hubby.

  8. Thanks and Hurried Hugs to all. 26

  9. Yay!!!! Sam is back. Thank you for sharing TomCat. ????

  10. Sam 3 — An amusing presentation on a serious subject.  This PSA reminded me of times with my grandfather.  He and I would go out for lunch after church.  He was very hard of hearing.  One day, the server asked me what he wanted for lunch.  I said “ask him but he is hard of hearing so speak clearly, not too quickly and speak up but don’t yell.”  Things were fine.  Did she remember the next time she had a hard of hearing customer?  I don’t know.  Too often people assume because a person cannot hear they are also stupid or uneducated.  How much harder then is it for the profoundly deaf!  I learned how to say ‘hi’ years ago so when a deaf client came to the counter, I signed ‘hi’.  That client smiled at that simple word and then I slipped a sign across to say ‘I did not sign but I would get someone who could.’  We had a clerk who had a deaf daughter who learned to sign with her daughter.  Respect and patience is needed.

Sam 1 — May Stone sink to the bottom of the pond never to be heard from again!

Sam 2 — I think it was this same boondoggle jet that Canada was going to buy but Parliament put the breaks on because it just could not work properly.  It is a money drain!  There are many more worthy projects like feeding and housing the homeless for example.
