It’s that time of week again, so here are three excellent video clips from Bill’s show last night. Enjoy!
I agree that personal responsibility is important, but greedy Republican Corporate polluters don’t have any. Unless government forces them to act responsibly, they will kill us all.
Doris Kearns Goodwin: Primus Inter Pares
She does make some good points. I think we need to be honest about the treason, crime, and hate, but also, talk about the points she brings up. I envy her optimism.
Buried in all that funny is a shit load of truth.
The channel did not include the monologue today. I did find an unauthorized copy of the entire show, and you can watch the beginning of that, but they don’t usually last very long. If you want to try, it’s live now.
RESIST!!
VOTE BLUE!!

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
Bill – Monologue [from full show] – Isn’t this the SECOND time he’s boarded AF1 with TP on his shoe? Or is this a re-run? Speaking as the wife of an alcoholic, Kavanazi still drinks.
Bridges – Right now we do need to get somewhere through elections (if we can!) Eventually everyone will have to help somehow,
Goodwin – One word – “IF” It’s little but it’s huge. And the other thing – I absolutely agree there will be a backlash. There is already. And it’s really quite big. But what difference does the size of the backlash make if it cannot get counted? BTW, what she says we should use to convince them is all stuff they DON’T CARE about. Empathy, Humility.
New Rules – You know, Bill is the one who has said for years that Democrats have to be tougher, even to play dirty. So we speak up and he tells us to shut up. I think we understand power, or at the very least are learning to – but we aren’t going to get any without votes, and we won’t get the votes unless the voters are fired up.
Bill #1: I recall one of my co-workers, maybe I’ve said this before, waxing soooo excited, when she announced “We just bought our FIRST suv!” And, she is much younger than I am. We have a “personal responsibility,” to elect people who are not in the pockets of the industries that lobby to destroy!
Bill #2: No wallowing, beyond a 2 minute break! Trump’s people will not see that this is not a leader, that is fantasy. Calling him a traitor will not help either, how did the country music bozos respond to Wille Nelson’s words, they called HIM a traitor: “We thought you were a patriot!” To them a patriot is an unthinking follower of whomever is in charge!! Neither do they give a darn about empathy, they’d rather laugh along with him when he demeans Dr.Ford, or an invalid! “He’ll be carried out….” I WANT TO SEE THE VIDEO!!!!!!!!!
W/watch later. Thx, Tom.
I adore Doris Kearns Goodwin!
My Mom read every Agatha Christie book when growing up and so got to love whodunit books. I managed her library “Books on CD” online both when she was at home and when she moved to Assisted Living – and she pretty much insisted on that genre. (She had macular degeneration, so had to switch from reading to listening. Listening slowed her down, but still she would go through 5-10 books a month. I have 38 pages of single-spaced Word doc keeping track of all the books she checked out to avoid duplicates.)
But years ago I “snuck” in Doris Kearns Goodwin’s Team of Rivals – her Lincoln biography – and my Mom start devouring biographies of our presidents. (In fact the last book I reserved for her on Friday, December 7, 2017 was Alexander Hamilton by Chernow.)
So I’ll always be grateful to her for expanding Mom’s horizons.
(I admire her optimism – hope she’s right.)
Bill#3: I will be moving to Florida! Next year! I’d love to be there now, and vote against Rick “Ought to be in jail,” Scott!
Empathy, humility? Here’s what Dumpy’s supporters think of things like that:

i like Jeff Bridges!
i like Doris Kearns Goodwin, too!
The last vid was brilliant!
‘The jokes will be mostly on old news tonight, but I’m sure we’ll enjoy it just the same. Thanks for posting, TomCat.
Thanks all. Hugs.
There are two kinds of Republican. The base is the majority and Trump exemplifies who and what they are. But there are also some habitual Republicans who pay no attention to politics, but were brought up Republican, so it’s an identity, not a belief. They do care about empathy and decency, if you can get them to pay attention.
Yes, you’re right about that. I’m not sure the difficulty is actually in getting them to pay attention (to abuses), but in getting them to grasp that the abuses have any connection to politics, since they are so apolitical. But, whatever it it, it’s there.
Agree.
