This morning I opened my window and turned off my AC.  As long as the sun never hits the wall, it will stay off.  Kitty Kitty one-legged happy dance time.  My Broncos play Washington tonight in preseason game three.  It will not be televised here.  May the holy Ellipsoid Orb shine its blessed light on my Broncos, relocate the Redskins to Tel Aviv, and change their name to the Foreskins.  TGIF!!

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:47 (average 4:37).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (Washington Post Channel): Opinion | Trump is facing worse than Watergate. I should know.

I agree. Nixon:Trump::Jaywalker:Serial Killer! RESIST!! VOTE BLUE!!

From YouTube (Robert Reich Channel): Robert Reich: Unchecked and Unbalanced

The Reich on the left, Robert Reich, is right. The Reich on the right, the Republican Reich, have turned over their balls to Putin’s Puppet. RESIST!! VOTE BLUE!!

From YouTube (Hat-Tip Animae for the idea): The 2018 leadership spill in numbers

Condolences to the people of Australia on your new Republican PM instead of having Labour. But at least your Republicans are nowhere near as evil as ours are. RESIST!! VOTE LABOUR!!

Cartoon:

Republicans are far more destructive.

  1. 6:04 That bug really bugged me.

    New Randy Rainbow!

    New Amy McGrath!

YT/WaPo – I would say Nixon:Trump as 2nd degree homicide:serial killer with torture and cult following. But it’s the same point, really.

Reich – God knows their “conservative principles” are vile and destructive enough. We need checks and balances just to protect us from normal “conservative principles.” To protect us from this mob boss we need them on steroids. (BTW you forgot the barf bag alert for all those “thank yous.”)

Oz – OMG, I’m so sorry! Sounds like Oz has been moving to “government by recall.” Take it from me, Colorado has tried it, and all it does is give the most power to the privileged whiners and snowflakes.

Cartoon – “Earthquakes are not unknown in the region of Boeotia” – oh, sorry, that’s a private joke between me and some other people who are all deceased now. Sigh. But seriously, where’s a good volcanic eruption – in the RIGHT PLACE – when you need one?

    • Love Randy!!!

And Amy McGrath’s ad is great!  I sure hope she turns on the after burners when her Republican competition and Diaper Don are on her six!!!

  2. We are all for checks and balances as long as they check those we don’t like and balance us against them.

  3. WPC: I agree, Tom, of what you so aptly said.

RR: The gop is the Party of Trump and enable him every single day. Vote! Vote! them out!!!

YT: Condolences to Oz, what a shame! Thanks, Animae.

    Cartoon: Yep, they sure are!

Go Broncos!! We play @LA Rams tomorrow. That’s nice with just fresh air too, for you. Hope you have a good evening, take care, and Thanks, Tom.

*Joanne: Amy ROCKS!!! RR’s vid is fabulous, as always.

  4. WP Channel: Yes, we are witnessing a much larger travesty, brought to us by a much sicker president and congress!
Robert Reich: Vote you ass off!
“…absolute loyalty to Scott Morrison.”  Wow, just like POTUS has wanted people to provide!  I think Oz has just moved closer to Kansas.
‘Toon: Funny how those flames are orange!  Is the Empty Orange about to go down in flames?????  One can only hope!

  5. Our Parliament is littered with individuals who long ago forgot about the big picture, many had no regard for it in the first place. The voters have had a gutful & the country has become a laughing stock! It seems extreme-right-wing-nuttiness is a contagious disease amongst politicians globally!
Deliberate disloyalty, deliberate destructive action, an insurgency, was instigated this week by the pure vindictive & evil Tony Abbott & his pawn Peter Dutton who lost the vote to Scott Morrison, the fool who stood up in Parliament not long ago waving a piece of coal saying, don’t be scared of it!
Morrison imprisoned more children in detention than any other Immigration Minister!
He tried to increase the GST, which would’ve pushed people already struggling to make ends meet further into poverty!
And he’s still campaigning to legalise discrimination, under the guise of ‘religious freedom’, against the LGBTIQA+ community!
So with an election possible at any time, we need to go after the hard right! i am hopeful & positive their reign will be a short one & look forward to our elections sooner than later, which must occur before May 2019!
    ? ?
Thank you dear TC & everyone!!!

  6. WP: Trump is indeed facing worse than Watergate, but so should the Republican party which enabled him from the very beginning and is just as guilty for him being there as the Russians, Manafort, Cohen, Pecker and all those others we have yet to hear about. Nixon at least had some respect for the office of president and even some respect for the laws and rules of government. Drumpf and his cronies have none whatsoever.

Robert Reich: LOL, I hadn’t seen this video yet when I type in my comment above. Nothing left to add, I should think.

YouTube: Animae has said it all in a perfect sum up of events. To those Americans who are putting all of the blame on ex-PM Turnbull: although a businessman and an ‘outsider’ himself too, Turnbull is nothing like Drumpf. By American standards he would have be categorized as a (right-leaning) Democrat and not a Republican. And it was the outsider, the practical businessman willing to compromise on important issues, perhaps even with Labour, that the Republicans in his party wanted to get rid off. And they succeeded, but with such a sickening display of vicious backstabbing and self-promotion that most Aussies, voting on both sides of the isles, had their fill of politics. If there were elections now – and even quite a few coalition voters are asking for that – Labour would easily win. Let’s hope that Aussie voter’s memory is just as good that of their American counterparts in May next year. Because that is as long as PM Scott Morrison (or Scomo as he’s nicknamed in Aussie fashion) can delay the elections.
@TomCat: this nastiness has let a few really evil Republicans crawl out of the Australian woodwork. Australia, like so many countries is moving further to the right too, giving evil a chance to thrive if not watched carefully.

Cartoon: I’d rather take my chances with Vesuvius than with Republicans too.

  7. Puzzle — 5:05  Remember to floss Puddy Tat after you devour the bug!  Those legs and antennae will get caught between your teeth and rot them out!!!

WaPo — I detested Nixon, but I detest Diaper Don a million times more!!!  DD and Republicans have absolutely no acquaintance with the constitution that they are sworn to uphold.  They put personal interests (greed and power) over their responsibilities to the country and We The People.  Unfortunately, there are too many sheeple who are being betrayed but are too blind to see or understand what is happening.

Robert Reich — Republicans have been castrated without doubt!  They only know their own self interests and bow down to DD believing they have the tiger by the tail.  It’s past time to get another tiger.  It’s time to put the country back on course for We The People.  Vote BLUE November 6 and get out the vote!!!

OZ — What is wrong with people that they cannot see that the far right is totally bereft of a sense of duty to the people and the country?  What a mess!

Cartoon — Can we move Vesuvius to Washington to wipe out Republicans and Diaper Don?  Perhaps a heavy Dem turnout in November will do the same without all the damage to infrastructure!  You are stuck with a Republican POTUS until 2020, but would it not be great to watch Diaper Don having to interact with a Democrat dominated Congress!!!  Oh the shit would fly then!!!

Well it is raining today and temps have cooled considerably.  It was 11C (51F) last night and right now it is 14C (58F) and raining.  Glad you were able to open the window and turn off the AC.

  8. Thanks all!  Hugs! 22
