From The New Yorker: Hours after the Pentagon announced that it would postpone a military parade that Donald J. Trump had requested, Vice-President Mike Pence staged a one-man parade in Trump’s honor.
Explaining his decision to mount the solitary parade, Pence told reporters, “It is the least I can do to pay tribute to the greatness and majesty of Donald Trump, a true American hero.”
Pence acknowledged, however, that marching alone “was a neat way to keep the budget down.”
Straight news again, Andy. Pence loves to goose-step for his Fuhrer! RESIST!! VOTE BLUE!!

MSNBC – If being on the top of Orange Judas’s hit list weren’t enough to demonstrate that Brennan’s a good guy, his handling of this situation (I note particularly his desire to ensure that any court case he decides to enter into is directed at PRINCIPLE rather than at him personally.) P.S. to T.C. – Alec Baldwin would never have gone along with it. Arguably no celebrity who was not corrupt woud have gone along with it.
RWW – I can’t watch this. There is a limit to how much projection I can actually watch as opposed to read about. Of course they would say this.
TNY – Well, he has the credentials. He has never served in the military either. Of course, neither have the Boy Scouts. Hmmm.
Cartoon – I’m not sure they’d really want to close it down. Prior to it, immigration was overseen by individual states, they would not he happy with allowing, for example, California to accept immigrants, especially if they could obtain citizenship and then move to states who don’t want to accept immigrants. I’m sure they would want to keep ICE forever.
MSNBC: Excellent video with Rachel and Mr. Brennan. I watched this a couple times, a man with integrity, who commands respect, and speaks the truth. We need more of them NOW! Shameful behavior from dt.
RWW: I don’t know what’s he’s on….but he’s a liar, and is waaaay out of control, he’s bending over big time!!

Our entire immigration system needs a serious overhaul. As to what we need to do? I leave that to people who really understand the issue. Revamping how we handle immigration should solve a lot of problems, and gratify people across the political spectrum.
Rachel Maddow: Excellent interview with this intelligent and eloquent man who stands above politics but wants to give his country the best he can give. His integrity and courage to speak out is a beacon of light in these dark times.
RWW: A few seconds of this man, the polar opposite of Brennan’s calibre, is more than I can bear. I do wish you had put these short takes in reverse order here. John Guandolos is such a terrible let-down after the eminence of John Brennan; now I need to go and watch Rachel’s interview with Brennan again to recover a little of the hope that some normality will return to the US eventually.
TNY: OMG, you sure nailed this one, Andy! I can actually see Pence goose-stepping in front of Drumpf in some old Nazi uniform, pulling a toy tank behind him on a string to a recording of the anthem. Can’t wait for someone to make us a clip.
Cartoon: Republicans might not closed it down but they’ve effectively rendered it useless with ICE and CBP.
