She’s a good one. I guess that the Green Party there in your system is pretty good. Here, it isn’t viable because our system penalizes 3rd party voters. In addition, Jill Stein has made Green Party US a Russian tool. Your liberals are conservative, and our progressive liberals are more like your Labour Party.

This got a lot of attention outside of The Netherlands, but not so much here. Rutte, a Republican in many ways, is in hot water himself here as he’s tried to lie his way several times out of a crisis he himself has created by pushing a dividend tax cut of 7 billion Euro (which is an awful lot on a total of €285 billion) through, which later turned out on behalf of Shell and Unilever. He admitted before leaving he’s focused on jobs and national security, just like Drumpf, so people didn’t expect much of him. Everyone here knew it was a photo op, nothing more, and his mumbling “No, it’s not positive”, which Drumpf didn’t even hear, didn’t impress over here.
That sheepish grin is Rutte’s trademark, by the way. Another leader with a lot of uncertainties.
MM: That clip made it very clear that the extreme right is hell bent on provoking a civil war because they know they’re a minority and chances are they will be represented in appropriate fashion after November 6. It also makes it very clear that they’ll destroy your Democracy rather than admit defeat. Very Scary.
C&L: Still in the Netherlands I’ve been following David Leyonhjelm’s slow political suicide just from the ABC’s news site, but hadn’t seen this 7.30 interview yet. I agree with Animae, David Leyonhjelm has now cut his carotid artery with this interview. I hadn’t seen Virginia Trioli as a bit-bull interviewer on 7.30 yet, only as a ABC breakfast show presenter, but she did a great job and was the equal of 7.30’s Leigh Sales, who is feared by politicians and their ilk for her cut-the-crap style. Australia’s (inter)national broadcaster ABC has a number of other great, fiercely independent programs of high journalistic integrity and calibre as ABC News, Four Corners and Q&A. And you know they are truth-bearing programs when the current liberal/conservative government (i.e. Republican in American terms) is heavily cutting down the ABC budget and have even considered selling the ABC to a commercial stakeholder, and Labor vowing to return their budget to normal as part of their election program.

Media Matters — Alex Jones, Ted Nugent, the lying NRA mouthpiece . . . they are all sorry excuses for human beings promoting fear and violence. This really needed a multiple barf bag alert. With idiots like these, the US does not need foreign enemies. These unpatriotic Americans ARE the enemies of the US!

This was the first Wednesday in a long time that I have had in a very long time. I found myself missing Sareena who was sitting in London’s Heathrow waiting for her connecting flight to Tehran. Four and a half weeks until she is home again. And here, it was about 28 C (82 F) but it turned very overcast in the late afternoon, cooled off and then rained last night.
You better hope it rains tonight.
