It’s a busy day, here in the CatBox.  The site is working properly again.  I’m waiting for Store to Door to deliver my groceries.  WWWendy is coming this evening, and I need to catch up on sleep.

Jig Zone Puzzles:

Yesterday’s took me 4:07 (average 5:26).  To do it, click here.  Today’s took me 4:47 (average 6:23).  To do it, click here.  How did you so?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (MSNBC Channel): Democrat Conor Lamb Is The Apparent Winner In PA Election

Woooo Hoooo!! RESIST!!

From YouTube (Trae Crowder Channel): Liberal Redneck – Ex Tillerson

I think he has a point. Was criticizing Trump’s owner what got Tillerson fired? If Trump replaced staff with dawgs, they’d be too toxic to eat. RESIST!!

From YouTube (Inequality Media Channel): Who Receives More Government Help, Stanford or UC Berkeley?

Interesting. I never realized that there is an imbalance in government support for rich schools. I’m not sure about the best solution. Ideas? RESIST!!

From The New Yorker: Reaching the opposite conclusion of many of their committee peers, Republican members of the House Intelligence Committee said on Tuesday that the Japanese did not meddle in the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941.

“After an exhaustive investigation, we have come to the conclusion that there was no attempt by the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service to influence the outcome of Pearl Harbor,” Rep. Mike Conaway, a Republican of Texas, said. “Any suggestion to the contrary amounts to nothing more or less than a witch hunt.”

Conaway said that while there were Japanese bombers in the vicinity of Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, their role in the attack there has been “blown out of proportion.”

Dang Andy! The Japanese were as innocent as Trump and far more humane than he is. RESIST!!

  1. I certainly hope that Lamb did win that special PA election. We need more victories like this to build the momentum into November and flip a lot of red seats to blue.
Happy Pi Day! I’ll celebrate later with some Pizza Pie.

  2. 3/13 5:10 At least they used a picture of you for your birthday.
3/14 5:20 A yellow house. Half windows and white. With a blue door. Between two blue houses. Got it.

MSNBC – I suppose the Rethugs could still steal it, but it looks good. Derned good. Yay!

Trae – I’m sure Trump has wanted to fire him, but until Rex trashed Russia, Trump didn’t have permission to do so.

Reich – Randomly my #$@&. He picked those two because he’s teaching at the one, and the other is their long time (football and other things) rival. (I might point out that not-so-rich alumni have also been known to donate to Stanford, and are not able to see a penny of tax break on that account.) Good thing he didn’t use Harvard as an example – last I heard they had about ten times the endowment that Stanford has. I don’t know what the best solution is either – but whatever it is, it will not be instituted by any Republican administration/regime. Reich doesn’t say anything about donations to Berkeley, but I would not be surprised if there are a hefty amount. I don’t know how that would be accounted for, but I am betting on it.

TNY – This is extremely well done and very effective for those who will read it. Who probably don’t need to.

Cartoon – Happy back. (I’s just 2 minutes past 1:59 here.)

  3. MSNBC: 18Great outcome! Congratulations for now, because I don’t think Republicans can afford to take this lying down, especially when it is so close. So we’ll have to wait and see if they are going to contest the outcome. And if they do, they need watching like a hawk!

TC: Trae has made a lot of points in this video, each of them worth noting but the last one should be taken to heart by all who love their country: “Every move like this they make is the same as them pointing their finger in your face and calling you a f***ing idiot. It’s insulting, its inexcusable. Remember that sh*t in November”

    AMEN !!!

IM: If the wealthy are so happy with their tax cuts, it should stand to reason that their tax deductions for charitable donations to colleges should be cut by the same percentage, shouldn’t it. That and a sliding scale for Pell grants, as was suggested in the video, i.e. the more students are attending that are in need of financial support, the greater the percentage that is deductible.

TNY: Very understandable, but you’re sounding very bitter instead of funny, Andy. But then Nunes and his GOP minions in that commission have left a bitter taste in everyone’s mouth, I guess. They must have had a really hard time burying evidence as fast as it came up when they just scratched the surface, which was essentially all they did.

Cartoon: A very fitting day for one of the most brilliant physicists of this era, Stephen Hawking, to die. π must have been terribly important to him throughout his career.

  4. Thanks to all the Democrats and Trump-Despisers who turned out yesterday to elect Conor Lamb in PA’s 18th District special election.

Over the long term, I think this map in the “The New York Times” showing the election trend from 2016 to yesterday is my chose for “Photo of the Day”!

Just look at all those blue arrows pointing to the left!

  5. MSNBC: YAY!! & PTL !!!

    Trae: Word !!

NYer: I can’t wrap my head around all the BS and sheet that the replicons think up with lying every day. Good job, Andy!!

    Cartoon: Happy Pi Day!!

We’ve ‘lost a Star’ with the death of beloved Stephen Hawking. May you Rest in Peace, Professor.

Hi, WWWendy. Hope that you have a good evening, take good care. Thanks, Tom.

  6. MSNBC: Apparently phenomenal!
Trae: My money is on Rexxie got the can cause he bad mother Russia.  Faux News showed a ribbon referring to tDump cleaning the “Deadwood” out of the cabinet.  Deadwood?  Cabinet?  Who the hell put these “deadwood” folks in there in the first place?  The clown with all the “big words,” “the best words,” who knew better than the generals?  Oh, but maybe this is the beginning of creating an excuse NOT to have he meeting with North Korea? “Geez, guys, I’d love to, but we’re not ready now.”
The New Yorker: I do not know about those Japanese being humane, but I do know that Nunes did what the Rehugs do best…throw the BS!
‘Toon: It’s Pi day, and Einstein’s birthday; Hawking’s death day, and they are probably partying like it’s going out of style, up there.

  7. Thanks and hugs to all.  WWWendy and I ate Pizza π.  25
