Lets Delete the Twit!

Paul Ryan, aka Lyin’ Ryan, realized that the Nunes Memo, aka the dud, was an abject failure to all but the Republican base, buried so deep in the Republican bubble machine that they will never be told the truth about it.  But for the vast majority of Americans, it was so bad that Ryan is desperate to change the subject.

One day after reluctantly releasing a ridiculous memo from idiot Congressman Devin Nunes which tried and failed to exonerate Donald Trump in his Russia scandal, the Republican Party seems unsure what to do. Trump is still defending the memo. Nunes says he’ll release more memos. Trey Gowdy has cut bait by endorsing Robert Mueller and retiring from Congress. Paul Ryan tried to get the GOP back on message today, but failed rather spectacularly.

Ryan is still trying to convince the American public that his Republican Party’s historically unpopular tax scam bill for the wealthy is somehow a boon for the working class. He tweeted a link to an article while quoting the part which said that “A secretary at a public high school in Lancaster, PA, said she was pleasantly surprised her pay went up $1.50 a week … she said [that] will more than cover her Costco membership for the year.”

After facing immediate backlash and humiliation for obvious reasons, Ryan quickly deleted the tweet. He had unwittingly highlighted that this tax bill doesn’t do anything for the working class. This bill explodes the deficit by more than a trillion dollars with its massive giveaways to the wealthy, while stiffing the working class with a buck-fifty a week. Worse, the tax scam eliminates several basic deductions for the working class, meaning many of them will be stuck paying more taxes each year. Despite all of the GOP’s lies, this was a middle class tax increase.

Paul Ryan isn’t the most gifted of politicians, but he would normally know better than to post such a stupid and self defeating tweet. This was a rookie mistake by a guy who, despite not really being liked by anyone on either side, has managed to survive in politics and climb the ranks for decades. But he was so desperate to move on from the memo and get his party back on message, and so rattled, he blew it. Maybe that’s because the scandal surrounding the Nunes memo has implicated him in the Trump-Russia coverup…

If I said I wasn’t most amused at his slithering and squirming, I’m be a liar.  Lets deny him the Speakership in 2018.  Since he deleted the tweet, lets delete the twit, by making him file for unemployment.

Every Republican in office

is one Republican too many!

RESIST THE REPUBLICAN REICH!!

  1. There are two ways we can deny him the speakership. First, we can get a Democratic majority into the House. That would make “Minority Leader” the best he could hope for. Second, we could help Iron Stache beat him – a Progressive leader and a labor hero. LET’S DO BOTH !!!

  2. Calling Paul Ryan a twit is entirely unfair – to real twits. 10

  3. I have long believed that Ryan was already deeply involved in the cover up, even in the initial phases of that which the GOPigs are trying to cover up!
I will be pleased to see this excuse for a human get carted off to the home of the Orange Jump suit!

  4. Without a doubt, Ryan is one of the most smarmy, brown-nosing, a$$lickers that has come down the pike.

I would love, Love, LOVE to see him pass the House gavel back to Rep. Nancy Pelosi – assuming he didn’t drop it …

  5. I would love to see Ryan deleted from office.  He is as bad as McConnell and Trump.  He serves only himself and his billionaire masters.

  7. As I said yesterday, I just can’t figure out what motivates Paul Ryan; what is his pay-off for all his crawling, brown-nosing and demeaning himself? The 90 minutes of sitting in the background of Drumpf reading his teleprompter, sitting next to Pence and knowing that after Pence he’s next in line? He must feel himself the crown-prince of something otherwise he wouldn’t blunder so much in his effort to keep Drumpf afloat.

We all felt that he was implicated in the Russia cover-up right from the start, together with Mitch McConnell, perhaps in even more than just that, but unlike colleague Mitch, who is a shrewd politician, unfortunately, Ryan’s political savviness is comparable to that of Drumpf, and both their fears of being uncovered are showing. Even his party members must have noticed that Ryan has finally met with the Peter principle when he became speaker of the House, and he isn’t popular at all, so they’re likely to drop him the instant he’s implicated.

But it’s best to make sure he’s gone by making the GOP the minority in the House as soon as possible.

    • He has been dreaming of screwing the United States since he was in college – at least – and now his dream is coming true.  I doubt that he needs any payoff beyond that.  But he just got half a million from the Kochs, which probably didn’t hurt.

If you want to go back to find out what was the genesis of his college dreams, generally his reading the work of Ayn Rand is cited.  But I kind of think there must be more to it than that.  He is seeking revenge on some one or some thing.  I’m not sure that even he knows who or what, though.

    • Adding to what JD just said.  Ryan hopes to privatize Social Security and Medicare, and to replace Medicaid with block grants that states can spend on whatever they want. 10

  8. Thanks all.  Hugs! 17

    • I’m quite aware of that, TomCat, but I was looking for his psychological motivation, his inner drive, to do all those inhuman and disgusting things. Joanne may be on to something there.
