It’s a busy day for me.  I’m skipping my morning nap as I have so much writing to do, so please pardon my brevity.  I’m also preparing for National Barf Day tomorrow.  TGIF!

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 5:10 (average 8:37).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (PBS Channel): Elizabeth Warren says 2016 Democratic primary was rigged

See my Open Thread from yesterday. Liz admitted it and wants to face it, understand it and make sure it never happens again, exactly like I recommended yesterday. Great minds really do fall in the same ditch. RESIST!!

From The New Yorker: After a memorable Monday, in which the special counsel announced criminal charges against three men associated with Donald Trump’s campaign, millions of Americans were sort of hoping that Robert Mueller would arrest someone new every day, a new poll indicates.

According to the poll, Monday’s news that Paul Manafort, Rick Gates, and George Papadopoulos had been charged may have unfairly raised Americans’ expectations that Mueller would be generating new arrests at the rate of at least three a day.

“Monday was one of the happiest days of my life,” one poll respondent said. “It started out great with Manafort and Gates, and then, bam, out of nowhere, Papadopoulos. I guess I started hoping all days would be like that.”

Andy, One a day just isn’t enough! RESIST!!

From The Miami Herald: This person managed to do the impossible: Shut down the Twitter account of the most powerful man in the world.

On Thursday, Trump’s digital mouthpiece vanished from cyberspace at around 6:45 p.m.

If you were looking for the president’s latest diatribe, you got the notice, “Sorry, that page doesn’t exist!”

Whoever that employee was, give him/her a promotion and a raise! RESIST!!

  1. 7:08  A wonderful invention in its day.

PBS – It might be more accurate to say that the “nomination process” was rigged (Liz said “the process” too.)  Primaries – and caucuses – are handled by the states and the DNC doesn’t have much of an opportunity to influence them.  The DNC doesn’t finance them.  There are three committees that do help to finance campaigns occurring in the states:  the DSCC for Senate races, the DCCC for House races, and the DLCC for state legislative candidates.  None of those four shares money with any other.  I most certainly agree we need to understand what happened and how.

TNY – Grin.  I only want arrests made on charges that will stick.  I’ll bet Mueller feels the same way.

Miami –  Oh, yeah, that was funny.  It was the employee’s last day on the job.  Some are speculating what of The Donald tries to get him/er charged with criminal mischief.  Many would point out s/he was just doing the job:  enforcing the Terms of Service.

Cartoon – An oldie, but more true than ever before.

  2. PBS: Great comment, Ms. Warren. We must make sure that the process works for everyone, and to protect it’s integrity.

NYer: It IS a glorious feeling though…isn’t it? lol

MH: My new hero!! Whoever did this, has my Kudos and a high Five to them!!

    Cartoon: Absolutely!

Hope that you have a relaxing evening, and take good care. Thanks, Tom.

  3. If the Democreeps had a grain of sense in their collective head, Bernie Sanders would have been their candidate – and our POTUS. Instead they went with corporate-owned GOP Lite Frau Clinton. I fear that they still haven’t seen the light because their heads are too far up their arses.
That cartoon is truly spot on!

  4. YT/PBS: On the money, or is it safer to say on point!
New Yorker: We need to be patient, and guard against tRump firing him!  Nonetheless, Andy rocks!
Miami Herald: This guy needs to be put into the upper echelon of Twitter!
    ‘Toon: So accurate!

  5. PBS: Glad Liz speaks out like this, admitting it was rigged and wanting to change the process so that it is a process with integrity people can trust. This was only a snippet of what Liz said, but I sincerely hope that Democrats will now also make sure that the party and its leadership is equally trustworthy, shows integrity and changes its elitist course.

    Progressive groups remain skeptical.

“We have a party that has had a rough go for the last eight years, lost over 1,000 seats, with a lack of a big policy vision or the problem of targeting the mythical swing Republican voters who don’t exist rather than mobilize our base,” said Charles Chamberlain, the executive director of Democracy for America. The New York Times, Michael Takket.

TNY: Andy, you couldn’t have hit the nail more on the head: at least one arrest each day is what we all are really hoping for!

    TMH:

Twitter later tweeted that Trump’s account was “inadvertently deactivated due to human error” by an employee on his or her last day at work.

Inadvertently?! Pull the other one. Kudos to this employee who saw a chance and took it on his/her last day. Good thing for this brave person that it didn’t last long and Drumpf was probably traveling, but this could have ended with an arrest for GBH as Drumpf popped an artery had he found out he was Twitterless.

Don’t skip on naps, TomCat, you know that may be detrimental to your health.

  6. Thanks all!  Hugs! 27
