Due to a combination of restless concern for our nation, mugginess and building noise, I was unable to sleep last night, so instead of doing more research, I’m returning to bed. Hugs!!

Today’s took me 3:55 (average 4:59). To do it, click here. How did you do?
Short Take:
From YouTube (GQ Channel): Sally Yates is an American Hero | The Resistance with Keith Olbermann
If the Washington Post had not broken the story, Flynn would still be National Security Advisor. The most rational explanations for this are either that Flynn did what he did following Trump’s instructions or that Putin is already blackmailing Trump with the threat of exposing Trump’s collusion. Keith asked whether Trump is insane or a traitor. My reply: those choices are not mutually exclusive. RESIST!!

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
Former Acting AG Sally Yates was simply stellar!
Me too… lol.
Me three!!!
Moi aussi!
I'm joining in, even though can be only virtually and spiritually.
3:54 Wow! Who would have thought I could save him from being soup! Squatch will have done better, though.
Keith #71 – There really is no other way to put it than the way Keith does. Isn't it a little depressing, though, to know that the Great Oaf of Office will never pay adequately for his crimes, even if he is ever charged?
Cartoon – Yup. I think they are email watchdogs now, though. But it's the same thing really.
But just barely!
Can't believe we were all within three seconds. That NEVER happens!
Puzzle — 3:53 No turtle soup tonight Puddy Tat!
YouTube — Drumpfenfarten needs to learn a few things, the first 2 being: 1) burying or obfuscating issues does not make them disappear; and 2) lying is an extremely bad strategy that in most cases will come back to bite the liar in the ass.
IMO, Drumpf will never be impeached by a Republican Congress, so Drumpf must be found incapable of continuing or must resign NOW! It could be that the 25th amendment of the US Constitution could be used, but that is more likely to me, to be a power grab.
It is a fine kettle of stinking herring that the US has gotten itself into.
Cartoon — And who is the Russian watchdog? The Russian fiasco has, IMO, done much more damage to the US than Benghazi and more than Watergate.
Resist and Persist!!!
Well that sucks getting no sleep last night. I hope you were able to get some sleep this morning. When I checked the weather upon arising, my computer said it was -99C which is, in anyone's book, damn cold!!! I don't live that far north! Obviously there was a malfunction as it said the wind was at -99 km/hour and the humidity was -99%.
It is now 7:20 p.m. in Colorado, which means it is 6:20 p.m. in Oregon and B.C. My email inbox is packed with emails announcing that Comey has been fired by Trump. Probably the most interesting is the second one from the Washington Post, which refers to an analysis of Deputy Atty Gen Rosenstein's letter making the case for the firing.
Keith has already put up #72, but I now can hardly wait for #73. It should be epic.
Oh, yeah – the Post link –
I saw that yesterday as well. And then I read that a Public News Service reporter in West Virginia was arrested for asking Tom Price questions about the health care bill that just Passed in the House.
Of course the spin from the administration is that Comey was incompetent and his firing had nothing to do with the Russia investigation. I think it had a lot to do with Russia.
Sure sounds like the bricks are starting to fall.
Sorry you missed out on another night's sleep, TomCat. I'd hoped that the mugginess would go down after a while, but it seems to have become a natural part of Portland's climate. Not a plus, I'd say.
Keith Olbermann: Yesterday the NYT had a not all to friendly article/interview with Keith (Keith Olbermann Was Once Cable News’s Liberal Standard-Bearer. Now He’s Missing Its Boom Times.) where his tireless efforts to show the public what Drumpf and his cronies was described as "his efforts to chase down Trumpian conspiracies can strain credibility". Perhaps, though I think a lot is quite credible even though most of it is based on analysis of facts, which others call speculation, rather than proof.
But Keith's strong point is undoubtedly his timelines and today he strongly made his point again: the meat of the Sally Yates hearing was the timeline of Flynn's rise and fall: Obama warned Drumpf for Flynn in November, Sally Yates warns the White House for Flynn on January 26 AND 27 she's fired on January 30, February 13 the WP discloses that Yates has warned the WH, and only the Flynn is sacked. Then it takes the Senate until May 8, after a cancelation, to hear Yates on it, but not before Drumpf himself had tweeted veiled threats to her.
And now Keithe has another item to add to the timeline: a day after the hearing , May 9, F.B.I. Director James Comey is fired! Can't wait what Keith has to say about this, but as most op-eds say this is no coincidence and find the grounds for firing him ( his handling of an inquiry into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server) not very credible.
The news broke here around midnight again, when I was about to go to bed and at the time there was little information on it. The correspondent in Washington said the reasons for his dismissal were not very clear now and saying anything about it would be mostly speculation, but there was a lot of "nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more" between the news studios going on and he repeatedly pointed out that for a president to fire an FBI director so soon (after three years on the job) was unusual, very unusual, extremely unusual indeed. There isn't a Dutchman who follows American politics a bit – and those are many – who doesn't believe that firing Comey is an attempt to stop the FBI from getting even closer to the truth.
Speculation my Democratic donkey, although, you are right, Republicans especially do call it that. What it really is, is deduction. Sherlock holmes didn't "speculate."
I'm with HER!!!
KO: Love this guy!!! KO puts everything all in place, to which I'm on his side.
Sally Yates stood strong against the queries, and I so enjoyed watching her professionalism vs. the repugs questioning her. Cruz & Cornyn in particular.
She most definitely IS an American Hero in my heart, and Thank You Ms. Yates for your testimony!!
Hope things get better for you, take good care, and Thanks, Tom.
Did anyone see this? It was posted on one of the RESISTance sites, (FB), and no one was posted as author, but whoever you are…TY!!!

PERFECT!
Pure Political Poetry on "Thing"… A chronicle. Awesome! lol.
There was once a movie, called "The Thing," about an alien life form having come to Earth, bent on destruction. James Arness starred as "The Thing," a LARGE ORANGE ALIEN MONSTER! Is this poetic justice, or what?
Thanks all Hugs. Comey is today;s lead
That was Sally's problem, undoing: Being an "HONEST AMERICAN!" There is no place for such people in the the Scuzy Orange House! Is Orange Scuz an idiot or a traitor? How about simply a sick bastard! He would have stayed with Flynn, imho, indefinitely, were it not for the WP story, because Flynn is, simply his kind of guy: a lair, double-dealer, out for nobody but himself.
RESIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pat B., that's brilliant and I'm going to share it. Did anyone notice that at the press briefing, Sarah sanders admitted that Comey was fired because the "president" wanted to curtail/slowdown the FBI investigation? Peace.
