Here is a little "chant/refrain/ditty" to help you all along on this "Day of Mourning".
"Tiny Hands"
Fiona Apple New Anti-Trump Chant “Tiny Hands” For Womens March on 21st January
Published on Jan 18, 2017
Fiona Apple has shared a new chant, written with composer Michael Whalen, as CoS points out. It’s for the Women’s March on Washington that is taking place in D.C. on January 21, the day after the inauguration.
“Tiny Hands” has only one refrain: “We don't want your tiny hands/Anywhere near our underpants.”
Sad day indeed, and even here it seemed impossible to get away from. I refused to give in and skipped all news stations. Tomorrow's rehash will be bad enough. And then it's time to
While we all mourn on this very bleak day that drumpf and his gop cohorts, billionaires, millionaires, corporations take over our beloved country, here are two videos from Rachel Maddow's Show last night. The first video surprised me. The second video is a lovely story of a woman's history to become a Supreme Court Justice.
Accomplishments that mark Barack Obama's presidential legacy
This is a lovely story. Have a watch.
Obama leaves legacy of extraordinary accomplishments
On President Barack Obama's last day in office, Rachel Maddow reviews the extraordinary list of accomplishments that comprise his legacy and points out that it is the job of Obama's supporters as citizens to defend those accomplishments. I think it is important to remember all the things that Obama accomplished. He didn't accomplish all he wanted to because he was working against rapid obstructionist Republicans, but he still accomplished a lot. Rachel did a good job.
Great minds are still in the same ditch. Each of you did something close to what I had in mind – yet different enough that I don't need to change anything. I send peace and serenity wishes to all. Just not enough peace and serenity to keep you from RESISTing.
As much as I tried, it seemed the radio station I listen to in the car was hell bent on reporting about the inauguration. It certainly seems like DC was one big protest with hundreds arrested. In addition, there were protests around the country and around the globe. I also heard that Trump headed "into the office" after the inauguration and signed an executive order that will lead to the repeal of Obamacare. It has started in earnest!
As Nameless says, "Kyrie, eleison". (my favourite chant)
I had to work hard too to avoid the inauguration – it was all over the place, but I did it in the end. Am praying hard for all my friends and for all good people the world over that this will affect so badly.
My… What BIG letters you have…

With a day like today, mourning is ALL I can stand, for the doom is upon us as I type!
RESIST!!!

Sadly, the depth of mourning from the events of today will be visited upon us, our children, and our children's children … and perhaps longer.
