Republican Politicians are falling over each other trying to out-hate each other over the ‘Ground Zero’ mosque, which isn’t a Mosque and isn’t at ground zero.
Add Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R) to the list politicians with selective memory about Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf’s global outreach on behalf of the United States.
Pawlenty, a presidential hopeful for 2012, appeared on Fox News’ "Hannity" last night to decry Obama’s support for the Islamic cultural center proposed by Rauf’s Cordoba House at a site two blocks from Ground Zero. He also criticized the State Department for sending Rauf on a diplomatic mission to the Middle East, saying that was "disgusting" and "dangerous."
"To have him be the leader not just of this mosque but to hire him through the State Department and send him around the world on our behalf is ridiculous," Pawlenty told Sean Hannity. "It is quite quite dangerous, quite concerning."
But Pawlenty failed to mention a key fact (which TPM reported last week) that Rauf has been doing similar diplomatic work going back to George W. Bush’s administration. Rauf attended the 2006 U.S.-Islamic World Forum in Doha, Qatar; in 2007 went to Morocco; and he worked closely with Bush-era Muslim outreach aides… [emphasis added]
Inserted from <TPM>
In addition, Rauf has been working with the FBI for over six years helping to prevent terrorism.
I guess makes Bush a terrorist supporter too. (Actually he was, but Republicans call their terrorists “freedom fighters”.)

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
Maybe someone should remind Mr. Pawlenty.
A permanent vacation would be an excellent reminder.
What bothers me is that these people are making all these accusations to scare people but wouldn’t they think that the FBI, CIA, NSA, etc. have already done their research on this guy (and others)? If people like Glenn Beck got the intelligence scoop, then we are in for some serious trouble!
Kevin, it this case, the liars know they are lying.
This is my Gov., the jerk.
He took Minnesota from a 600 million dollar surplus, to a 6 BILLION dollar debt. I could give a list of retarded things he has done, but since he got 1% in the poll yesterday, I think the American people have his number.
My deepest sympathies, Tom. I hope you will take part in his replacement.
It doesn’t count cause he said it on FOX.
Welcome, Mike.:-)
Love it!

You have your facts correct as usual. As Lisa said, I have to wonder why he’s not being challenged or fact checked.
He is, Tim, but except for a few on MSNBC, the rest of the MSM chose to ignore the facts.
