I think Jerry may well be the only person still with us from the time Politics Plus was on Blogger, and there was only one voice on cable news that defended the progressive view. He did it so well well that he butted heads with management, lost his job, and retreated back to sports broadcasting for ESPN. I am very grateful that Rachel Maddow, Lawrence O’Donnell, and Tim Hayes are filling his shoes, but I cannot be more pleased that Keith Olbermann has returned to political reporting. Here he is with 192 reasons Trump should not be President.
Every few generations, we Americans are called upon to defend our country. To defend it not so much from foreign dictators or war or terrorism, but from those here who have no commitment to progress or democracy or representative government—no commitment to anything except their own out-of-control minds and the bottomless pits of their egos.
Our society has thrown up these people before: Joseph McCarthy. George Wallace. Father Coughlin. Jefferson Davis. Aaron Burr. The Know-Nothings. The Blacklisters. The America-Firsters. And we have always thrown them out.
And now our generation has its own: the most dangerous individual ever nominated by a major party for the highest office in this country…

Out of all those hundred and umpty-ump reasons … Donald's statement that we "have no idea what (Hilary's) religion is caught my eye – Here is Garrison Keillor on Hillary – "Hillary didn’t have a prolonged adolescence and fiction was not her ambition. She doesn’t do dreaminess. What some people see as a relentless quest for power strikes me as the good habits of a serious Methodist. Be steady. Don’t give up. It’s not about you. Work for the night is coming." Interestingly, her autobiography states that she was brought up Methodist and still is one. Apparently she acts like one. What is Donald J Drumpf's religion? Does anyone have any idea?
Drumpf's religion:
It's "MONEY"! The 100 dollar bill… and lots & lots of them. lol.
.
Drumpf worships himself! That's his religion.
Bingo!
I was around and certainly was annoyed when MSNBC gave Keith the boot. I have certainly missed him. There seems to be some talk that he might be back on MSNBC, but I doubt it. Maddow and O'Donnell seem to be doing a decent job and don't argue with the bosses.
Great news, welcome back!! Mr. Olbermann!
Thanks, Tom.
Oh man, you're making me feel old. Wait a minute, I AM old. I always enjoyed Olbermann. Yes, it has taken three people to replace him. I would love to see him back on a nightly one hour show, but I suppose that is too much to wish for.
Thanks for sharing this, it is enlightening, indeed. Olbemann pulls no punches. I shared this with my red friends. Oh, well, they like me so maybe they won't come after me.
Love this guy! Glad he is back!
Thanks, TomCat!
Yes…!
Welcome back, Richard! Long time no see!!
Excellent piece! When I signed on in 2011 (yes you've been putting up with me that long!), Olbermann was a regular and I for one, enjoyed his commentary. Glad to see him back!
"… tallies the most outrageous of Donald Trump's offenses in what is now his 15-month assault on American democracy."
Such an apt short description of Drumpf's campaign.
"who accepted a military medal from an audience member and said, "I always wanted to get the Purple Heart. This was much easier"" — Perhaps he should have joined the military and honestly done the work to win a Purple Heart. Actually he has a black heart. This incident has always bugged me because it shows his total disrepect for the people in the military when he says at times that Clinton does respect military families.
It isn't exactly work that earns a Purple Heart. It's earned by being injured in the line of duty – so yes, it takes work to put you in a positioin to be injured – but in Donald's book, wouldn't getting injured make you a loser?
When I said 'work', I meant the traditional duties of a soldier and their consequences — being in harm's way and wounded. Drumpf is too narcissistic for that 'work' and as you say JD, and of course Drumpf said it too, wounded and/or captured makes a soldier a loser! He belongs at the bottom of an outhouse!
Never heard of Keith Olbermann before, but I'm sure to keep my eyes open now for more of his contributions to taking Drumpf down.
I, for one, am glad Keith is back with us once again.
Keith's commentaries are spot-on!
The "176 Reasons could not have come at a better time.
We all need to get his "176" commentary out to our right-winger friends asap.
Keith is absolutely correct in his assessment that "This Is Madness".
In addition to the "176" video, there is a text available for reading at:

For those of you who are not familiar with Keith Olbermann, try looking up in YouTube and watch some of his earlier political commentaries. There are quite a few of them.

Have really missed Keith I like those who speak their minds, and he surely does.Stay with us,Please.
WOW!!! There were some things I did no5 know in that one! To say the least. Oh, WOW!! That would be on full blast in ALL 50 states, all over the plac!! ESPECIALLY WHERE I LIVE!! OH! I loved it!!! I still can't believe he STILL the candidate for the Repblican party! They usually pick someone that is ultra-conservative and would never be for PP. And it HAD to have the (paper) billionaire!!! They have had some questionable characters, (Sarah Palin)
I could go on and on, but Keith did it so great!!! Thanks for the video, TC!!!
Thanks all! Very Tired hugs!!
I watched a bunch. and he is preaching to the choir, here, and with you folks.
I watch, maybe, a smidgen of TV; some Jeopardy, and less and less of the network news. I get more TV time from the links at PP, than anywhere else, so I only know him by recognizing his name…but, I AM GLAD HE'S BACK!
