I trust nobody is surprised that Paul Manafart has been booted from the visible side of Trump’s campaign, since he has been caught with his fingers caught in Putin’s Kremlin Kookie jar. I have no doubt that he will remain involved in a hidden capacity, and that Putin (R-RU) will continue to manipulate Trump and his Republican Party.
Paul Manafort may be gone, but that’s not a leading indicator that his candidate will change much about how he’s running his campaign. After all, when you’re an "unwitting puppet" of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the strings can always be pulled.
Robby Mook, Clinton’s campaign manager, sent out this statement earlier today along with the video above [below].
"Paul Manafort’s resignation is a clear admission that the disturbing connections between Donald Trump’s team and pro-Kremlin elements in Russia and Ukraine are untenable. But this is not the end of the story. It’s just the beginning," Mook wrote.
"You can get rid of Manafort, but that doesn’t end the odd bromance Trump has with Putin. Trump still has to answer serious questions hovering over his campaign given his propensity to parrot Putin’s talking points, the roster of advisers like Carter Page and Mike Flynn with deep ties to Russia, the recent Russian government hacking and disclosure of Democratic Party records, and reports that Breitbart published articles advocating pro-Kremlin positions on Ukraine."
"It’s also time for Donald Trump to come clean on his own business dealings with Russian interests, given recent news reports about his web of deep financial connections to business groups with Kremlin ties.”…
From <Crooks and Liars>
I won’t be holding my breath as I wait for that disclosure.
Also, note the active help Putin is giving Trump’s Campaign by continuing to urge progressives to support Jill Stein, through his state-owned propaganda network, RT. Because support for Gary Johnson tends to come from Republicans, RT is not mounting a campaign for him. Putin is working to help Trump. As much as I have liked Jill and her policies, I am shocked that she has allowed herself to become a willing pawn in Putin’s scheme in return for the exposure Putin is giving her.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
I have been saying for literally decades that the USSR was never a nation run from the left, it has always been run from the right, and that all the danger of the USSR was from the right. Satisfying as it is to have proof of that, it's hollow when it is still being so widely denied. How does one explain something which is so self evident to those who cannot see it for the lies?
And it's not just the USSR. Shari'a law is not a danger from the left but from the right – except the right calls it "Christian." Terrorism is not a danger from the left but from the right – except the right calls them "patriots" (or, if they are too outrageous, "mentally ill.")
It's tempting to think of Trump as "Putin Lite," but I think we may have this wrong too. It's always the novice who exaggerates. I think Putin might just possibly be "Trump Lite."
I agree. You years I have said thet there were two Russian Revolutions. The first (1914) was a left wing socialist revolution. In the second (1917), right wing totalitarians (Bolsheviks) seized power, kept the egaqlitarian termionoligy of the original revolution, but ran the country olong fascist, not socialist lines..
C&L: Nothing about DT surprises me anymore. I have no doubt that both of them are in this together. ugh.
Thanks, Tom.
I agree with Joanne, Putin may be Trump lite. I am sure he is much more intelligent and realizes his limitations. The Donald apparently does not.
It is difficult to say which one is "lite". Certainly Putin is younger (10/1952) but has been directly engaged in politics longer than Drumpf. Having said that, Drumpf showed up at the RNC in 1988 in support of George HW Bush. I saw a short news cllip (possibly on TRMS) of a young Chris Wallace interviewing Drumpf at the RNC. Asked if he would seek elected office, Drumpf was coy finally saying he was just there to support Bush senior. Was he already inserting himself into the Republican power tower?
Either way, they are both power hungry crooks and very dangerous. Putin has shown a propensity for shady dealing going back to his St Petersburg days while Drumpf has short-sheeted almost all his dealings. Putin, interfering with the elections of another sovereign nation by influencing through RT is unconscionable.
Putin could not be interfering with the US election through RT if Jill Stein and members of her campaign staff did not cooperate with him, by granting RT so many interviews.
Forget about the 'lite'. And if Drumpf should make it to the Oval Office, he'll make sure that nobody will ever say "Drumpf" and "lite" in the same sentence ever again.
Sorry, but as a pediatrician I have always been appalled by Stein's, if not outright anti-vaxxer stand, at least her sympathy for the anti-vaxxers. Especially since she’s a physician. There are other issues I have w/ Stein, but her anti-science stand is a deal-breaker.
Good perspective. Do you thjink she intentionally putting her parients at risk?
Well, she retired from practice over a decade ago. And she was an Internist, so not sure what her stand WRT vaccination in adults was. But there aren't all that many vaccinations given to adults – mostly boosters, herpes/shingles and pneumococcal. (Unless you're doing some unusual foreign travel)
Bromance (Official Music Video) (CC) I had to look up the word "bromance". Bromance is for men. For women, the the word is "womance". lol.

Love the photo of Putin & Drumpf at the top of the PP article.
Who is lite? In this case, it would be Putin as he is not overtly out there in advancing his ideas as Drumpf is. Drumpf admires dictators as they have power to control people's lives and in the direction the country will take in controlling its people and politics. Both, Putin & Drumpf, are authoritarians and fascist sociopaths. One is a dictator who has power and Drumpf wants to be a dictator with power. But Putin is a brilliant chess player given his training as a KGB agent and Drumpf has no idea how to play a good came of checkers. Drumpf is too scatter-brained to think ahead in advance. For Putin, Drumpf is just a way to weaken USA without having to use the military. For Putin, it is a cheap solution to a large problem like weakening or eliminating NATO with Drumpf's help. Then there is the matter of Drumpf's financial ties with Russia possibly like "money laundering".

I came across these cartoons this morning. Although there are 100 of them, there are a number of Drumpf/Putin ones while the rest are mostly election related. Enjoy! I did.
